Patriots’ 2024 Super Bowl odds shouldn’t surprise anyone

2024 Super Bowl odds for the Patriots released

The Carolina Panthers are the only NFL team with worse Super Bowl odds than the New England Patriots in 2024.

It shouldn’t come as any surprise for a Patriots team that finished last season with a 4-13 record and missed the playoffs for the second straight year. It’s also a Patriots team undergoing a rebuild after parting ways with legendary coach Bill Belichick.

They have plenty of money to spend in free agency, and they’ll have the No. 3 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. But it will also be a team led by a first-time head coach in Jerod Mayo with a roster that has more holes than Camp Green Lake.

Per BetMGM, the Patriots are currently listed at +20000 odds of winning the Super Bowl next season.

The bigger concern is how the Patriots are going to compete in their own division to even make the playoffs, much less win a Super Bowl. There are more questions than answers at the quarterback position, along with a lack of offensive playmakers and pass-protectors.

The problems in New England can’t be fixed overnight. It could take years to get back on track.

Cowboys have 7th-best SB odds, Prescott slightly better for MVP

The road to New Orleans starts now, with Dallas having relatively good odds to end their drought. | From @KDDrummondNFL

If you were one of the millions of people who put their hard-earned money on the line for the Big Game, hopefully the odds were forever in your favor. And if you hunger (get it?) for more action, rest assured, there’s always something for you, even as the NFL enters into their pseudo-hibernation zone.

The 2023 season concluded with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs winning their second straight Super Bowl, taking down the San Francisco 49ers 25-22, in overtime. Now, immediately for most, the attention turns to the 2024 season and who will lift the Lombardi. There’s a lot of work to be done between now and then, but if interested, one can place a wager on who will win it all, and which player will do their part to get their team to the promise land.

Ranking all 32 teams (including the Broncos) by their odds to win the next Super Bowl

The Broncos have +10,000 odds to win the next Super Bowl, third-worst in the NFL.

Well, oddsmakers certainly aren’t feeling confident about the Denver Broncos following the 2023 season.

After the Broncos went 8-9 in new coach Sean Payton’s first season, Denver has been given +10,000 odds to win Super Bowl LIX next season, according to DraftKings Sportsbook. That’s tied for the third-worst odds in the league, only above the Tennessee Titans (+15,000) and Carolina Panthers (+25,000).

This marks a big contrast from last February when the Broncos were given (+3,000) odds to win the 2023 Super Bowl, tied for ninth-best in the NFL. Following the Russell Wilson fallout last season, Denver is expected to make a quarterback change this spring.

With uncertainty at the quarterback position, the Broncos not being considered a Super Bowl contender is not surprising. But to be listed among the three worst teams in the league seems to be a bit harsh.

Elsewhere in the AFC West, the Kansas City Chiefs (+750) have the second-best odds in the league, above the Los Angeles Chargers (+2,500), Denver and Las Vegas Raiders (+10,000, tied with the Broncos).

Here’s a look at every NFL team’s odds to win the next Super Bowl.

Rams’ odds to win Super Bowl next year are surprisingly long, worse than Chargers and Falcons

The Rams have surprisingly long odds to win the Super Bowl next season, coming in at 17th among all teams

The Los Angeles Rams were one of 14 teams to make the playoffs this season, going 10-7 in a year when few people expected them to finish above .500. They exceeded expectations despite going through a rebuild and they’re in excellent shape heading into the 2024 campaign thanks to a healthy amount of cap space and plenty of draft picks.

Yet, the oddsmakers at DraftKings don’t see them as much of a threat to win the Super Bowl next season. DraftKings released odds for every team to win a ring next year and the Rams have the 17th-best odds at +3500. That means a $100 wager would win a profit of $3,500.

The 49ers have the best odds at +550, followed by the Chiefs (+850), Ravens (+900) and Bills (+950). Every other team has odds of +1200 or longer.

There are quite a few surprising teams with shorter odds than the Rams. For instance, the Texans have the eighth-best odds (+2000) after an admittedly strong 2023 season under DeMeco Ryans, but should they really be considered one of the top favorites to win it all?

The Jets are +2200 to win the Super Bowl and while Aaron Rodgers’ return will help immensely, that team still has plenty of holes to fill. Even the Chargers (+2500) have better odds thanks to the hiring of Jim Harbaugh.

There’s perhaps nothing more shocking than the Falcons (+2800) and Bears (+3000) both having better odds than the Rams as of now. That’s borderline ridiculous because neither team knows who its starting quarterback will be in 2024.

Elsewhere in the NFC West, the Seahawks and Cardinals are both +8000, among the worst in the NFL. The Panthers have the longest odds of any team at +20000.

Rams’ updated Super Bowl odds after win vs. Saints

The Rams’ Super Bowl odds improved after they beat the Saints, giving them the 12th-best odds of any team

At the start of the regular season, there were only five teams that had worse odds to win the Super Bowl than the Los Angeles Rams. For most of the year, that looked perfectly reasonable after the team started 3-6 and looked out of playoff contention.

Thanks to their recent 5-1 stretch, the Rams are in position to not only make the postseason, but potentially make some noise in a conference that’s looking shakier by the week. After beating the New Orleans Saints on Saturday night, the Rams now have a 72% chance to make the playoffs, according to the New York Times.

Their playoff odds sit at +6600 at BetMGM, tied with the Houston Texans for the 12th-best of any team. That’s only an implied probability of 1.5%, but it was even worse before Week 1 and at midseason.

If you were to bet $100 on the Rams to win the Super Bowl, it would net a profit of $6,600. So if you’re feeling confident that Matthew Stafford could lead Los Angeles on a postseason run, it’s not a bad bet.

The 49ers have the best odds of any team at +220, followed by the Ravens (+550), Chiefs (+650), Dolphins (+800) and Eagles (+800). The Seahawks surprisingly have better odds than the Rams, coming in at +6000 to win it all.

Ranking all 32 teams (Nick Mullens and the Vikings included) by their Super Bowl odds

Using Bet MGM’s odds for the Super Bowl, we ranked each teams Super Bowl odds including the Minnesota Vikings

The playoff race for the 2023 season is nearing its apex as we enter week 16 of the National Football League season. The Minnesota Vikings are still fighting for their playoff lives, even after having started four quarterbacks this season.

Ever since the injury to starting quarterback Kirk Cousins, the Vikings have been playing with house money. The offense has been mostly positive and the defense has carried the team for the most part. They have set themselves up to be in position to make the playoffs and make noise once they get there.

Where do the Vikings sit in regard to their Super Bowl odds? We took a look at all 32 teams and ranked them using Bet MGM’s odds to win the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

Rams’ Super Bowl odds have worsened since start of free agency

The Rams haven’t made any additions thus far so their Super Bowl odds are heading in the wrong direction

There may not be a team that’s been quieter or less active in free agency thus far than the Los Angeles Rams. They’ve made moves in the last week or so, but those are only subtractions, not additions to the team.

They’ve cut Leonard Floyd and Bobby Wagner, and also traded Jalen Ramsey to the Dolphins – which will become official on Wednesday at the start of the new league year. Other than that they haven’t signed a single outside free agent or one of their own, only tendering Michael Hoecht as a restricted free agent.

It should surprise no one that the Rams’ Super Bowl odds have worsened through this roster purging. According to DraftKings Sportsbook, the Rams have gone from +5000 to win the Super Bowl to +6000 in the last two days alone.

The day after Super Bowl LVII, the Rams were +3000 to win it all next season, according to BetMGM, so their odds have lengthened significantly since then. That’s what happens when you move on from three key veterans the way they have.

As of now, there are only eight teams with worse Super Bowl odds than the Rams: the Buccaneers, Seahawks, Commanders, Falcons, Titans, Colts, Texans and Cardinals.

The Rams have a lot of work to do and not a lot of money to make it happen, which is why so many are expecting a painful year in 2023 for Los Angeles.

What are the Colts’ odds to win Super Bowl LVIII?

The Colts open the offseason with the third-worst odds to win Super Bowl LVIII.

The 2022 season officially came to an end Sunday as the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Super Bowl LVII.

Now, the Indianapolis Colts, along with the rest of the NFL are working with a clean slate as they prepare for the 2023 campaign. Coming off a 4-12-1 season and with several questions facing the roster, the Colts don’t find themselves as a favorable team in the eyes of Vegas.

According to Tipico Sportsbook, the Colts will open the offseason with the third-worst odds to win Super Bowl LVIII at +9000. Only the Arizona Cardinals (+10000) and Houston Texans (+10000) have worse odds.

On top of that, the Colts have the second worst odds to win the AFC Championship at +5000, which comes in just higher than the Texans at +8000.

At this point in the offseason, the Super Bowl odds are moot. So many changes are set to come across the league that some teams won’t look recognizable by the time September rolls around.

But it does give us a slight idea of how Vegas views the Colts going into the eventful months of the offseason.

With Shane Steichen expected to be the next head coach, plenty of moves will be on the way for a Colts team that is desperate to put the 2022 season behind them.

Browns open with 17th best odds to win Super Bowl LVIII

The bookies do not have a great deal of confidence in the Browns.

The Super Bowl just ended, as former members of the Cleveland Browns Andrew Wylie, Danny Shelton, Austin Reiter, and Jordan Franks all get rings with the Kansas City Chiefs. By a score of 38-35, the Chiefs took down Jalen Hurts and the Philadelphia Eagles to win their second title in four years. And now, next year’s betting odds have already dropped as well, and the Browns, predictably, have not earned the confidence of the bookies.

They share those odds those same +4000 odds with the New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings, and Las Vegas Raiders. After back-to-back middling seasons, these middle-of-the-road odds make quite a bit of sense for the Browns.

Seahawks have brutally bad odds to win Super Bowl 58

If the odds for winning Super Bowl 58 are any indication, they still have a long way to go.

The Kansas City Chiefs are once again the kings of the castle in the NFL, having defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38-35 in the Super Bowl on Sunday. Now it’s time to reset and see where the Seattle Seahawks stand compared to the rest of the league. If the odds for winning next year’s Super Bowl are any indication, they still have a long way to go. Seattle is tied with four other teams at +6000, or 60 to 1 odds to win it all. That’s not much better than the truly hopeless cases at the bottom.

In any case, here are the odds for each team to win next year’s Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, according to USA TODAY Sports data.

Chiefs: +550
Bills: +650
49ers: +700
