Mic’d-up video showed what Patrick Mahomes told the Chiefs after hurting his ankle in the Super Bowl

That toughness was legendary.

In the two weeks leading up to the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes’ ankle was a major talking point. After all, Mahomes had suffered a high-ankle sprain — typically a multi-week injury — in the AFC Championship and played through the pain to get the Chiefs to Arizona.

Come Sunday, he’d have to show his toughness once again.

Late in the first half, Mahomes aggravated that ankle injury after getting tackled on a scramble. He limped to the sidelines in serious pain, and backup quarterback Chad Henne was even getting loose in case Mahomes couldn’t go. Mahomes, though, was never leaving that game.

On Tuesday, NFL Films released mic’d-up footage from that aggravated ankle injury, and it was wild to hear Mahomes go from complete agony to “I’ll be fine” and “I’m good” in a matter of seconds.

Mahomes wasn’t lying either.

In one of the biggest plays of the game, Mahomes picked up a first down on a 26-yard scramble to get the Chiefs into field goal range. That play helped put Kansas City in a position to run out the clock and kick the go-ahead field goal. And again, he burned the Eagles defense on basically one leg.

To hear how he handled the injury on the sidelines made it even more special. Those videos don’t get old.

A mic’d-up Jason Kelce had an awesome brotherly message to his mom after Super Bowl 57

Now, that’s a great big brother.

Super Bowl 57 had to be an incredible experience for the entire Kelce family. But when you have two brothers — the Chiefs’ Travis Kelce and the Eagles’ Jason Kelce — going up against each other, someone was going to end up disappointed.

That’s what made Jason’s postgame remarks to his mom, Donna, so cool to hear.

NFL Films has been releasing mic’d-up footage from Sunday’s game, and on Tuesday, the league shared a clip of Donna’s on-field interactions with both her sons. We saw as Travis let out the happiest “MOMMA!” shout ever. And when she caught up with Jason, Donna had to be proud as the Eagles center eventually offered such a brotherly request.

“Go celebrate with Trav.”

Jason appreciated the moment with Donna, but he also knew that Travis would want to take in the win with his parents.

Even in defeat, he was a proud brother.

Fans also appreciated that comment from Jason.

The video of Patrick Mahomes individually congratulating every Chiefs teammate was so cool to watch

That’s what leadership looks like.

Patrick Mahomes is a true generational player — that’s obvious. You don’t lead a franchise to two Super Bowl titles and reach the conference championship game for five straight seasons by being average.

But the greatness of Mahomes extends beyond what he does on the field. He has the respect of every single Chiefs player, and he shows that respect right back.

We saw that in action on Sunday night.

After the Chiefs defeated the Eagles, 38-35, in Super Bowl 57, Mahomes eventually made his way to the Kansas City locker room. That was when he spent several minutes congratulating each individual teammate. The scene was captured on video here:

You just don’t see that happen often. Super Bowl locker rooms are hectic. There’s media, staff, family and an entire team crammed into a small space. But Mahomes wanted to share the accomplishment with each individual teammate and made the effort to get that done.

It takes a special kind of leader to do that, and fans particularly loved seeing this footage.

What we learned from Eagles 38-35 loss to the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII

We’re looking at four things we learned from the Philadelphia Eagles’ 38-35 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in #SuperBowl 57

The Eagles started the process of cleaning out their lockers on Tuesday, officially ending the 2022-23 NFL season, along with the beginning of several what-ifs in regard to Super Bowl LVII.

Philadelphia suffered a heartbreaking 38-35 loss, inflicting wounds on themselves with fumbles, blown coverages, and a punt when they should have gone for it on fourth down.

Regular season MVP Patrick Mahomes took home the Super Bowl LVII MVP as well after he finished 21 of 27 for 182 yards with three touchdowns. Kansas City scored a touchdown on its first three drives of the second half after trailing at halftime 24-14.

With all eyes turning towards the scouting combine and NFL free agency, here’s what we learned from the Eagles’ 38-35 loss to the Chiefs.

Somber A.J. Brown reacts to Eagles’ Super Bowl 57 loss to Chiefs

A somber A.J. Brown shared his reaction to the Super Bowl 57 loss while cleaning his locker out on Tuesday.

Former Tennessee Titans and current Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown fell just short of a ring in Super Bowl 57, as his team narrowly lost to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday, 38-35.

Brown himself had an impressive game, reeling in six catches for 96 yards and a score, which came from 45 yards out in the second quarter. However, Brown was mostly quiet in the second half as KC mounted a comeback.

While cleaning out his locker on Tuesday, an understandably somber Brown reacted to his team’s loss.

“This is tough right now,” Brown said, according to the Philly Inquirer’s Josh Tolentino. “I’ll figure out a way to shake back from this and go to work. It’s so tough to even look into the future right now. It’s so tough because when you get to the dance you want it to end only one way. We did some really good things.”

Brown also revealed he had a bad feeling about the Eagles’ hopes of winning the game when head coach Nick Sirianni made the controversial decision to go for a field goal on a fourth-and-6 from Kansas City’s 15-yard line with under two minutes left in the third quarter.

Despite a disappointing ending, Brown had a phenomenal season in his first year in Philly, finishing with a franchise-record 1,496 receiving yards, along with 11 scores, tying his personal best.

Brown wasn’t the only former Titan to fall short, as punter Brett Kern was also on the Eagles, although he was inactive for the contest.

Mic’d-up video showed what Patrick Mahomes’ dad told him after an emotional Super Bowl 57 win

This is just the best.

Throughout the Kansas City Chiefs’ run to their Super Bowl 57 win, Patrick Mahomes avoided much of the trash talk that teammates like Travis Kelce took part in. After all, he had his biggest fan, Pat Mahomes Sr., for that.

But come Sunday, even Pat Sr. was in awe of his son’s gutsy performance.

Mahomes — playing on a high-ankle sprain that he would eventually re-aggravate — carried the Chiefs to a 38-35 win over the Eagles with a second-half performance for the ages. When the game ended, the Chiefs quarterback spotted his father behind a barrier and shared a long embrace.

Thanks to NFL Films, we can hear what was said in that moment.

Mahomes Sr. hugged his son and said:

“I ain’t never seen nothing like you. You different! You different. I love you. I love you to death, baby. You know I do. Damn, you’re good.”

The two ended the exchange with an emphatic high-five. Mahomes knows he did well when his own father can’t believe how good he is.

We’re certain to see more clips like that as NFL Films puts together its footage, but fans enjoyed this look at a sentimental father-son moment.

Jim Kelly features in top-rated NFL commercial during Super Bowl 57

Did you see Jim Kelly during the #SuperBowl?

The NFL often uses the numerous stars attached to the game of football to represent the league when they run a commercial during the Super Bowl.

Super Bowl 57, which saw the Chiefs defeat the Eagles 38-35, had another one of those.

This time, it also featured a little Bills Mafia flavor to it as well, with none other than being Jim Kelly involved.

The ad was another run-through style commercial which had quick cameos from players, past and present. Kelly, the former Bills great and Hall of Famer gives a shoutout to the fan base.

“Mafia style, nice,” Kelly says as Diana Flores, quarterback of Mexico Women’s National Flag Football team runs by.

She so happens to go through a table in the ad, prompting Kelly’s line.

The sequence of bringing longtime legends into the fold has often paid off for the NFL. In past years, such pieces received high ad grades from the likes of USA TODAY’s Ad Meter.

That happened again, as this advert featuring Kelly hauled in the second-highest rating of any Super Bowl commercial this year.
