Taylor Swift fans loved how Travis Kelce wore friendship bracelets to Jason Kelce’s retirement announcement

No, YOU’RE crying.

Monday was an emotional day for the entire Kelce family as longtime Eagles center Jason Kelce announced his retirement after 13 NFL seasons. He did so with his brother, Travis, in attendance.

And while both Travis and Jason were tearful during the announcement, eagle-eyed Taylor Swift fans noticed that Travis was wearing friendship bracelets while in Philadelphia to support his brother.

It is common practice at Taylor Swift concerts to exchange friendship bracelets. And for Travis specifically, his relationship with Swift was made possible thanks to a friendship bracelet. He mentioned in a New Heights episode over the summer that he was disappointed that he couldn’t give Swift a bracelet with his phone number on it. That clip evidently led to the 14-time Grammy winner reaching out, and the rest is history.

One of the bracelets that Travis wore appeared to say “T ❤️ T” with another saying “Travis Kelce is” in the visible portion.

With Swift in Singapore this week for the Eras Tour, Swifties loved that Travis had Swift represented in such a huge moment for Jason.

Travis Kelce broke down in tears as he watched brother Jason Kelce announce his NFL retirement

The strongest brotherly bond.

Throughout their entire NFL careers, brothers Travis and Jason Kelce have been each other’s biggest fans. That remained true on the final day of Jason’s NFL career.

The legendary Eagles center announced his retirement on Monday in Philadelphia after 13 seasons and one Super Bowl title. While Jason immediately broke down in tears as he made his way to the podium, he wasn’t alone. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end was also in tears as he watched his brother look back at a Hall of Fame career.

Just as Jason supported Travis during the Chiefs’ Super Bowl run, Travis was front row to support Jason in his retirement announcement.

Between the New Heights podcast, Amazon documentary and what we’ve seen during games, much of the Kelce brothers’ relationship has been in the public eye. But it’s all genuine and relatable. Fans understandably loved how Travis was there to support his brother.

Jason Kelce’s tearful retirement announcement had NFL fans feeling all of the emotions

A legendary career comes to an end.

When the Philadelphia Eagles saw their season come to an end in the wild-card round, Jason Kelce’s emotional reaction on the sidelines and in the tunnel pointed to a likely end of his legendary playing career. On Monday, that became official.

The longtime Eagles center announced his retirement in a press conference where he looked back at his 13-year NFL career. Kelce arrived to the podium ready to read a prepared statement, but he immediately broke down in tears — realizing in real time how difficult the announcement was going to be.

This was the scene at the Eagles’ facility in Philadelphia.

As tears streamed down his face, Kelce continued on with his statement. He ends his career as a surefire future Hall of Famer with a Super Bowl ring and seven Pro Bowl appearances.

NFL fans understandably were feeling all the emotions as Kelce made his announcement. It’s truly the end of an era for Philly sports.

The sports world mourned the death of longtime ESPN NFL reporter Chris Mortensen

He will be missed.

ESPN announced sad news on Sunday as longtime NFL reporter Chris Mortensen died this weekend at the age of 72.

Mortensen first joined ESPN back in 1991, and he became a fixture in the network’s NFL coverage over the years. Amid a throat cancer diagnosis in 2016, Mortensen took on a decreased workload and eventually left the network in 2023.

As the news of Mortensen’s passing became public, many of his former colleagues and fellow media members offered their condolences on social media.

Fans were thrilled as Caitlin Clark broke the all-time Division I college basketball scoring record

She’s alone at the top in college hoops history. Legend.

Caitlin Clark went into Sunday’s matchup against Ohio State needing just 18 points to break Pete Maravich’s record of 3,667 for the most points in Division I history (both men and women). She only needed one half to break that mark.

After a questionable technical call on Ohio State, Clark was sent to the line where she knocked down a pair of free throws to move past Maravich.

This was the scene in Iowa City as Clark broke the record.

After the 18-point first half, Clark told the Fox broadcast that she wasn’t even sure that was the record until she heard the crowd’s reaction.

Still, fans were pumped to see Clark solidify her spot atop the college basketball record books.

NFL Network compared Xavier Worthy’s record-setting 40 time against Patrick Mahomes and fans thought it was hilarious

NFL Network can’t stop mocking Mahomes.

Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy went into the NFL combine as the heavy favorite to run the fastest 40-yard dash out of this draft class. He not only accomplished that on Saturday, but he also broke John Ross’ record for the fastest 40 time in combine history at 4.21 seconds.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, on the other hand, does not rank among the combine leaderboard. And of course, NFL Network had to remind everyone of that.

Ahead of the NFL combine, Mahomes kindly asked NFL Network to refrain from using his 4.80-second 40 time as an overlay against this year’s draft class. NFL Network saw that tweet and opted instead to compare Mahomes to defensive linemen. The broadcast wasn’t done, though. After Worthy’s record-setting time, they had to bring the Mahomes overlay back.

“Will he even be in the frame at the end is the question.”

The answer to that question was no. Mahomes would leave the frame at around the 30-yard mark. Worthy’s speed was truly next level.

Still, fans could not get enough of seeing Mahomes’ 40 time get the overlay treatment. That was just mean.

Patrick Mahomes had a hilarious reaction to NFL Network comparing his combine 40 time against defensive linemen

Hey, he didn’t come in last!

Patrick Mahomes is a three-time Super Bowl champion and well on his way to becoming the best quarterback we’ve ever seen in the NFL. He’s also not alone when it comes to future Hall of Fame quarterbacks and less-than-spectacular showings at the NFL combine.

But man, NFL Network did not have to do Mahomes like that.

Just one day after Mahomes jokingly requested that NFL Network stopped using his 40-yard dash as an overlay for the combine, the broadcast crew ignored Mahomes’ request and opted instead to use the overlay for defensive tackles T’Vondre Sweat and Braden Fiske.

Bright side: Mahomes didn’t finish in last … he didn’t finish in first either, though.

Needless to say, Mahomes was not pleased to see the overlay make its return. He also couldn’t have been too excited about seeing a defensive tackle running a better 40 time than him.

But hey, at least he had Sweat beat. That would have been a tough one to lose.

Fans also loved Mahomes’ reaction. He should have known that was coming.

Fans had jokes after Elly De La Cruz fouled off a Hunter Greene pitch right into Hunter Greene’s Maybach

Parking a $200K car near a baseball field is a BOLD choice.

Whenever someone decides to park at a baseball field, they’re making a calculated risk. Do they want to settle for the most convenient spot and risk being in range of a baseball or do they want to park far away in relative safety?

We know what Hunter Greene chose on Tuesday, and let me tell ya — he absolutely regretted that decision.

As the Reds pitcher was throwing some live BP to Elly De La Cruz, Greene’s pitch was fouled back and out of play at one of the back fields in Goodyear, Ariz. It seemed harmless enough, but that foul ball could not have landed at a more unfortunate spot for Greene.

It smashed the window of his Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV. Depending on how that car is spec’d, it can go for well over $200,000.

Greene — who is on a six-year, $53 million deal — apparently told Elly that he was paying for it. The Reds infielder pointed out that Greene makes more than him (plus, insurance will probably cover that one). And let’s be honest, if you’re parking a Maybach within striking distance of a baseball field, it’s a disaster waiting to happen.

Fans, though, had plenty of jokes for the smashed window. Of all the cars for Elly to hit, it had to be Greene’s. Unreal.

Red Sox fans were thrilled that Rafael Devers and Kenley Jansen publicly called out the team’s front office

The Red Sox front office is a MESS.

When the Boston Red Sox signed closer Kenley Jansen last offseason and reached a long-term extension with Rafael Devers, the two players had the expectation that the Red Sox were looking to compete immediately in a stacked AL East.

But a last-place finish in 2023 and a quiet offseason in 2024 signaled that the Red Sox are shifting into a rebuilding mode. Needless to say, both Jansen and Devers aren’t thrilled with what they’ve seen from John Henry, Craig Breslow and the rest of the front office.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday with an interpreter, Devers expressed his frustration with the front office. He wondered why the team isn’t doing more to address their needs.

Devers said:

“Everybody knows what we need. And they know what we need. It’s just some things that I can’t say. … Everybody in the organization that knows the game knows what we need.”

Jansen also had similar remarks on a podcast, saying that he almost felt deceived by the team’s vision when he joined Boston from the Braves. Via SI.com:

“I definitely feel frustrated,” Red Sox closer Kenley Jansen said on the “Baseball Isn’t Boring” podcast. “I came here for two years where Year 1 we were going to compete but by Year 2 they were really going to go for it… They have a different vision now. I get it. It’s part of the business but at the same time I have one more year left here and I’m going to give the fans the best that I have.”

That frustration is certainly echoed by Red Sox fans, and they were happy to see two clubhouse leaders call out the front office.

MLB fans crushed Anthony Rendon for saying that baseball has never been a top priority for him

He really hates baseball.

When you look for some of the worst contracts in MLB, it’s difficult to find anything that tops what the Angels handed Anthony Rendon in 2020. In an effort to build around Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani, the Angels signed Rendon to a seven-year deal worth $245 million. Since then, Rendon has yet to play 60 games in a single season and rarely made an impact when he did play.

And his comments at Monday’s spring training camp can’t make the Angels feel any better about the disastrous contract.

Speaking to reporters, Rendon was asked about how he considered retirement last year. And that was when he said that his priorities had changed. When asked in a follow-up question where baseball fell in that list of priorities, Rendon admitted that baseball had never been a top priority for him.

While it’s totally fine to prioritize family over a job, it’s not a good look for a player making $38 million to broadcast that his job isn’t among his top priorities. When you take into account Rendon’s lack of availability during his time with the Angels, his 2024 spring camp couldn’t have gotten off to a worse start.

MLB fans weren’t thrilled with Rendon’s answer as well.
