DT Shone Washington commits to UGA over Florida

The Georgia Bulldogs have added a commitment from defensive tackle recruit Shone Washington

The Georgia Bulldogs have added a commitment from defensive tackle recruit Shone Washington. Washington is ranked as a three-star defensive lineman and is a member of the class of 2022.

Washington has received interest from USC, Alabama, Texas A&M, Florida, LSU, and more. Washington originally committed to the in-state LSU Tigers, but later backed off his decision.

Shone Washington announced his commitment to Georgia over Florida via Twitter:

The three-star defensive tackle prospect will be planning to enroll at UGA early and will sign with the Dawgs on Dec. 15. Washington is Kirby Smart and Georgia’s 24th commitment in the class of 2022. UGA has the No. 1-rated class of 2022 in the country.

Georgia has commitments from four defensive linemen in the class of 2022, so they are likely set at the position unless there is a decommitment.

Sedrick Van Pran, a former four-star center and UGA sophomore from the class of 2020, went to Warren Easton High School, which is the same high school as Shone Washington in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Washington sat out the 2019 high school season due to transfer rules. Washington has impressive size at 6-foot-3, 300 pounds.

New Orleans DT Shone Washington schedules visit to UGA

2022 defensive tackle Shone Washington will take an official visit to Georgia on November 20 for the UGA vs Charleston Southern game, he tweeted on Tuesday.

Washington (New Orleans, Louisiana/Warren Easton High School) ranks as a three-star in the 2022 class and as the No. 453 overall player according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Washington is a former LSU commit. He de-committed from the Tigers back in January and Georgia offered him a scholarship in March.

The 6-foot-3, 297-pound defensive lineman will be visiting the Florida Gators the following week when they host Florida State in Gainesville.

LSU loses DT commitment for Class of 2022

The Tigers have lost a commitment for the 2022 recruiting class.

LSU lost a member of its 2022 recruiting class when New Orleans (La.)  Warren Easton defensive tackle Shone Washington announced his decommitment from the program on Sunday.

Washington originally made his pledge to LSU ahead of the 2020 high school football season.

“First off, I want to thank God for the situation I am in,” he wrote. “Second I would like to thank my family and coaches for helping me through this recruiting process. Thank you coach O and coach Johnson for the opportunity to be a Tiger. With that being said I’m de-committing from Louisiana State University and reopening my recruitment.

“2020 has been a hard year for me. I have dealt with a lot. I want to take these next few months to focus on school, getting my body back healthy, and preparing myself physically with my teammates to get ready for our 2021 season.”

The 6-foot-4, 300-pounder is a four-star prospect with offers that include the likes of  Alabama, Florida, Memphis, Mississippi State, Texas, Texas A&M, USC.

247Sports also lists Washington as the No. 21 overall defensive tackle in the country and the No. 13 overall prospect in the state of Louisiana.

Tennessee offers LSU defensive tackle commit

Tennessee Vols’ football recruiting news.

Tennessee is trying to flip 2022 defensive tackle Shone Washington.

Washington is a 4-star prospect from New Orleans, Louisiana who is committed to LSU.

The 6-foot-3, 297-pound prospect has been committed to LSU since August.

He is rated a 4-star prospect, the No. 21 defensive tackle in his class and the No. 13 prospect in Louisiana by the 247Sports Composite.

 

Alabama, Florida, Texas A&M, Ole Miss and Texas are a few of the schools that have also offered Washington.

Tennessee currently has one prospect committed to the 2022 recruiting class, in 3-star defensive end Jimmy Scott from New York.

Georgia football offers scholarship to Shone Washington

The Georgia Bulldogs and Florida Gators have offered scholarships to defensive tackle Shone “Malice” Washington.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to defensive tackle Shone “Malice” Washington. Washington is not yet rated at this time and is a member of the class of 2022.

Washington has received interest from USC, Alabama, Texas A&M, Florida, and more. Washington is just a sophomore, but is already receiving loads of offers from elite programs. College football fans should expect Washington to be a highly rated prospect by his senior season.
