Notre Dame offers speedy Big 12 commitment in ’23 class

Can Notre Dame flip this star out of his home state?

Gone are the days of a verbal commitment to one school meaning the others would simply leave one alone.  Notre Dame has had several verbal commitments back out over the years while the Irish have pulled their fair share of previously committed prospects from elsewhere.

Earlier this month the Irish extended an offer to quarterback [autotag]Austin Novosad[/autotag], a Baylor commitment since December, and were recently able to get him on campus.  It doesn’t stop there in Notre Dame’s attempt to raid the Big 12 as [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag], [autotag]Tommy Rees[/autotag], and company are targeting a speedster currently committed to Kansas State.

Dylan Edwards committed to Kansas State in June of 2022 but earned a scholarship offer from the Fighting Irish on Wednesday.  He is rated as a four-star prospect, the 19th best running back in the class and the second overall player from Kansas in the 2023 recruiting cycle according to the 247Sports composite rating.

Edwards was the Gatorade Player of the Year in Kansas for the 2021 season after putting up 3,214 total yards and 40 touchdowns as a junior.  He averaged a mere 12.5 yards per carry a year after helping Derby High School to the 2020 Kansas 6A state championship.

Edwards primarily is a running back but has spent time at wide receiver.  If Notre Dame were able to ultimately flip him from Kansas State one would assume they would get him on the field by any means necessary as his speed is truly elite.

Notre Dame currently has 20 commitments in the 2023 recruiting class with four-star Jayden Limar being the sole running back.  We’ll keep you posted to all the latest as this certainly develops.

UGA football Twitter rejoices following Brock Bowers’ commitment

Georgia Bulldogs football Twitter celebrated the news of four-star TE Brock Bowers’ commitment to UGA.

Georgia Bulldog fans needed something to celebrate in day of doom and gloom for college football. Fortunately, for Dawg fans, class of 2021 tight end Brock Bowers committed to the University of Georgia.

Bowers is a talented four-star recruit, who plays high school football for Napa High School in California. His commitment should not be lost in another day fraught with college football news.

Bowers is a building block that Kirby Smart and Georgia can count on in the future and should help solidify UGA’s class of 2021, which is now up to twelve commitments.

Bowers picked the Georgia Bulldogs over a lot of west coast schools, including Oregon, Washington, and UCLA. Kirby Smart is really expanding Georgia’s recruiting territory.

Here’s how Georgia football Twitter reacted to the news of Bowers’ commitment:

Notre Dame Offers Top 2022 New York Prospect

Kaleb Artis is starting to gain interest from some big-time programs. Notre Dame joined the growing list to offer the d-tackle on Monday.

Notre Dame made an offer for the 2022 recruiting class Monday morning, extended a hand to defensive tackle Kaleb Artis of St. Francis Prepatory School in Fresh Meadows, New York.

Artis is listed at 6-5, 260 pounds and grades out as a three-star prospect on 247Sports.

The 2022 prospect has also received offers from the likes of Boston College, Nebraska, Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Tennessee as well as a few others.  Artis is ranked as the second best prospect in all of New York state in the 2022 class.

Notre Dame Offers 2022 Florida Star Safety

Brian Kelly and Notre Dame became the 19th team to offer safety Devin Moore a scholarship Thursday. Find out more about the 3* safety here

Notre Dame continued their recent run of extending scholarship offers to the recruiting class of 2022 Thursday when they extended an offer to Naples, Florida safety Devin Moore.

Moore is listed at 6-2, 175 and attends Naples High School.  Notre Dame became the 19th football program to extend a scholarship offer to Moore, who also received offers from Nebraska and Virginia Tech in the last week.

Moore is listed as a three star safety according to 247 Sports.  They also rank him the 21st best safety in the 2022 class.  Notre Dame joins the likes of Florida, Florida State, Miami, Michigan, Mississippi State, Nebraska, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech who are among the 19 total schools to have offered him.

For more information you can watch Moore’s sophomore year highlight tape here.

Notre Dame Offers Elite 2022 Wide Receiver

Notre Dame made a scholarship offer for Caleb Burton, a wide receiver that will be among the most recruited players in the entire 2021 class

Caleb Burton of Del Valle, Texas is going to be one of the most desired players in the 2022 recruiting class.  The four star wide receiver has already received offers from the likes of Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Oklahoma and plenty of others.

Burton is ranked as the 37th overall prospect by 247Sports and the sixth best receiver in the 2022 class.  A monster target he is not as Burton checks in at 6-0, 165 pounds.

Congratulations to Burton for the offer but I’m guessing his Fighting Irish knowledge doesn’t run too deep if he’s using the hashtag #FightOn upon announcing the offer from Notre Dame.

Burton was a First-team all-district Texas 24-6A as a sophomore and will be among the biggest recruits in the 2022 class for whichever school he is to eventually choose.

Georgia football offers 4-star Texas commit

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to a four-star Texas Longhorns class of 2021 commitment in Billy Bowman Jr.

The Georgia Bulldogs have offered a scholarship to four-star Texas Longhorns commitment Billy Bowman Jr. Billy Bowman is an elite wide receiver prospect in the class of 2021.

Bowman plays high school football in for Ryan High School in Denton, Texas. Bowman is playing against solid competition in Texas, which is known for its love of high school football. Bowman is the sixth-rated recruit in Texas in the class of 2021 and 37th overall, so he’s very close to being a five-star prospect.

Bowman committed to the University of Texas last July, but will he stay true to his commitment? Kirby Smart and Georgia are notorious for flipping one elite prospect, sometimes more, each recruiting cycle.

Bowman is honored to be offered a scholarship from the University of Georgia:

Bowman is a 5-10 receiver, who weighs 175 pounds. He plays several high school sports outside of football and is an excellent athlete. He’s a UGA target to watch in upcoming months. Recruiting is currently in a dead period.

Bowman may be intrigued at the prospect of joining five-star 2021 quarterback commitment Brock Vandagriff in Athens. Time will tell if Bowman sticks with the Texas Longhorns.

Notre Dame Offers Star ’21 Illinois Athlete

Notre Dame offered three/four-star athlete Sam Jackson of Naperville, IL a scholarship on Wednesday.

Notre Dame has offered a 2021 athlete from the state of Illinois as Sam Jackson is the latest prospect to get a scholarship offer from Brian Kelly and the Fighting Irish staff.  Jackson made the offer public knowledge on his Twitter profile Wednesday morning.

Jackson is listed at 5-7 and 170 pounds and plays quarterback at Naperville Central in Naperville, Illinois but is being recruited as an “athlete” by most schools.  Maybe a gadget guy who can occasionally be a threat to throw?

Jackson was a one-time commitment to PJ Fleck and Minnesota but announced he was re-opening his recruitment in January.  Most of the Big Ten aside from Ohio State, Michigan and Penn State have offered scholarships while Missouri, Oregon and Virginia Tech are some of the bigger names nationally to have offered.

Notre Dame Football: New Offer to 2022 Florida TE/DE

Livingston also spends time on the hardwood where he can throw down which I suppose isn’t surprising for a young man who is 6-6.

Notre Dame’s coaching staff remained busy Friday morning not just working on the 2021 recruiting class but laying the groundwork for 2022 as well.

Current sophomore tight end/defensive end Tony Livingston of Sneffer Christian Academy in Florida announced the offer on his Twitter account late Friday morning.

Livingston is listed on 247 as 6-6, 225 pounds. His Twitter profile however claims he’s 6-6, 255.

Livingston also spends time on the hardwood where he can throw down which I suppose isn’t surprising for a young man who is 6-6.

Livingston has previously received football scholarship offers from South Carolina, Iowa State, Central Florida, Florida International and West Virginia.

Watch: Notre Dame Football Offers ’21 Safety

Xamarion Gordon, a defensive back that plays some corner and some safety.  His highlight film his junior year shows a player that’s more than happy to step up and make a tackle.

Even without Notre Dame taking the field this weekend they were still making news as they’ve offered a scholarship to try and help solidify their defensive backfield in the 2021 recruiting class.

Xamarion Gordon, a defensive back that plays some corner and some safety.  His highlight film his junior year shows a player that’s more than happy to step up and make a tackle.

Notre Dame’s 2021 recruiting class currently has seven commitments but only Gabriel Rubio (defensive tackle) of Saint Peters, Missouri is the only defensive commitment.

Gordon holds scholarship offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Oklahoma, Oregon State, San Jose State, USC, Utah and Washington State.
