Prediction and betting odds for Commanders vs. Eagles in Week 11

Analyzing Commanders vs. Eagles game with odds and lines, predictions and best bets.

The Philadelphia Eagles (7-2) host the Washington Commanders in the Week 11 edition of Thursday Night Football on Amazon Prime. It’s a showdown for first place in the NFC East between the Eagles and resurgent Commanders.

It’s Washington quarterback Jayden Daniels’ first career start against Philadelphia. He’s excited to play in front of the passionate Eagles’ fan base.

“I’m excited just to go to Philly and that type of atmosphere,” Daniels said Tuesday. “Heard they got very passionate fans, so man, I can’t wait. I can’t wait to go out there and see that fan base, and just experience that. And I know it’s going to be a great venue, a great site, and we’ll just go out there and see what happens.”

Will the Commanders shock the Eagles? Here are the latest odds ahead of Thursday’s game. The Commanders Wire staff also makes game predictions.

Commanders vs. Eagles game odds:

  • Commanders OT Brandon Coleman: Questionable (shoulder)
  • Commanders OT Andrew Wylie: Questionable (shoulder)
  • Commanders K Austin Seibert: Out (hip)
  • Commanders CB Marshon Lattimore: Out (hamstring)

Commanders vs. Eagles prediction, pick:

Bryan Manning: A hard-fought game that comes down to the wire, but the Eagles are healthy, while the Commanders are banged up. Saquon Barkley and A.J. Brown have big games for the Eagles, as Washington has no answer Brown. Jayden Daniels makes it close, but the Eagles pull away late behind the legs of Barkley. Eagles 27, Commanders 24

Ivan Lambert: Will Washington be able to run the ball effectively against the Eagles? They will need to keep scoring and keep their own defense off the field long enough for some good breaks.

Though Jayden Daniels had a subpar game against the Steelers, is still fourth in the NFL in QBR. So Daniels has shown an ability to move the chains and get into the end zone.

The Eagles, meanwhile, have surrendered only 161 points this season. They no doubt will have watched the Steelers film and made the adjustments to play Daniels the same way, taking away his runs.

Saquon Barkley teamed with this Eagles offense may be too much for the Washington defense. Eagles 23, Commanders 20

Serena Burks: The Eagles will be a tough test for the Commanders, and this game sets the tone for the remainder of the season for both teams. The Eagles have the edge because they’re at home, but the Commanders are hungry. They haven’t lost back-to-back games all season, and I don’t think that starts now. Plus, the Eagles’ last five games have all been against sub-.500 teams. It will be close and probably won’t be pretty, but the Commanders win. Commanders 30, Eagles 27

WATCH: Saquon Barkley says he was drug tested after hurdling Jaguars defender

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley admits he received a drug test after hurdling Jaguars defender in Eagles win

Saquon Barkley has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Barkley’s latest honor comes after he logged  27 carries for 159 yards and a touchdown in a win over Jacksonville. He also had three receptions for 40 yards and a score as Philadelphia continued their hot streak on offense.

Barkley’s most impressive play of the season may have been this short pass from Jalen Hurts that the Philadelphia running back turned into a dazzling gain. The most important aspect of the catch-and-run was Barkley pulling off a 180-degree backward hurdle over a Jaguars defender for a first down.

Barkley had 199 yards from scrimmage on Sunday and has 1,071 yards this year — the most ever by an Eagles player through the first eight games of the season in franchise history.

The play has gone viral, and during a sit-down with AJ Greene and Justin Pugh for Whistle’s Air It Out show, Barkley admitted the NFL administered a drug test following his viral moment.

Eagles RB Saquon Barkley named NFC Offensive Player of the Week

Philadelphia Eagles RB Saquon Barkley named NFC Offensive Player of the Week after dominating performance vs. Jaguars in Week 9

Saquon Barkley has been named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the third time this season.

Barkley’s latest honor comes after he logged  27 carries for 159 yards and a touchdown. He also had three receptions for 40 yards and a score as Philadelphia continued their hot streak on offense.

Barkley scored on a 20-yard touchdown catch, but his most impressive play of the season may have been this short pass from Jalen Hurts that Philadelphia turned into a dazzling gain. The most important aspect of the catch-and-run was Barkley pulling off a 180-degree backward hurdle over a Jaguars defender for a first down.

Barkley put the Eagles up 17-0 with a 19-yard touchdown run.

Barkley had 199 yards from scrimmage on Sunday and has 1,071 yards this year — the most ever by an Eagles player through the first eight games of the season in franchise history.

Eagles safety Reed Blankenship had the most relatable sideline reaction to Saquon Barkley’s reverse hurdle

We were all Reed Blankenship in that moment.

It’s not even hyperbole to say that Saquon Barkley pulled off one of the coolest moves we’ve ever seen on a football field. And the Eagles bench knew it too in the moment.

With the Eagles driving at midfield during the second quarter in Week 9’s win over the Jaguars, Barkley caught a pass in the flat and went to work against multiple Jacksonville defenders. He made two players miss — one with a spin move — and with his back turned, Barkley hurdled over Jaguars cornerback Jarrian Jones to pick up the first down.

It was one of those plays where a team full of professional football players essentially reacted like fans. Nobody could believe that Saquon actually did that move, and safety Reed Blankenship had the perfect reaction from the bench.

Just in complete awe.

Blankenship was all of us in that moment.

Barkley, Hurts stomp on Jaguars in Eagles’ 28-23 victory

Barkley, Hurts stomp on Jaguars in Eagles’ 28-23 victory

Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley dominated Jacksonville’s defense in the Eagles’ (6-2) 28-23 victory over the Jaguars (2-7) Sunday, combining for 225 yards and two touchdowns rushing and connecting three times for 40 yards and a score through the air.

Perhaps no play better encapsulated Philadelphia’s offensive success against Jacksonville than Barkley’s instantly viral reverse hurdle.

Barkley forced three missed tackles on a second-quarter, 3rd and 6 catch-and-run for 14 yards and a first down. He ended the play by jumping over Jaguars cornerback rookie Jarrian Jones, backwards.

Barkley later scored a 19-yard rushing touchdown on 3rd and 17, going untouched by Jaguars defenders who appeared unprepared to face a run. It gave the Eagles a 16-0 lead — although it was followed by the first of Philadelphia’s three failed two-point conversion attempts throughout the game — with 22 seconds until halftime.

Jacksonville, without wide receivers Christian Kirk and Gabe Davis and left guard Ezra Cleveland, could not keep up with Philadelphia offensively in the first half. The Jaguars netted only 31 yards, marking the second-fewest in the first 30 minutes of a game in franchise history.

But the Jaguars’ offense found some life in the second half. It took extended third and fourth-quarter drives deep into the red zone with quarterback Trevor Lawrence finding the end zone on the ground to cap each series.

Jacksonville edge rusher Travon Walker returned a Barkley fumble 35 yards for a touchdown between those scoring drives, at that time narrowing the deficit to six points, 22-16, with 5:26 remaining in the third quarter.

Hurts found Eagles wide receiver Devonta Smith for an incredible, toe-tapping 25-yard touchdown reception with 7:43 left in the fourth quarter, re-establishing a two-possession lead that Lawrence’s second score cut back into.

Jacksonville had a chance to steal the win from Philadelphia after Eagles kicker Jake Elliott doinked a 57-yard field goal attempt off the right goal post.

Lawrence and the Jaguars stalled to open the drive but were saved on 3rd and 10 by a defensive pass interference on Eagles cornerback Avonte Maddox, with tight end Evan Engram as the intended target on the play.

Lawrence pitched a 22-yard pass to wide receiver Austin Trammell, a Week 9 practice squad call-up, on the next snap, moving Jacksonville into the red zone and making an improbable comeback momentarily look possible.

Then Lawrence was intercepted by Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean in the end zone on 1st and 10, overthrowing Jaguars running back D’Ernest Johnson on a wheel route.

Hurts removed two yards from his rushing total over the next three snaps, making a worthwhile trade to line up in victory formation.

The Jaguars will return to Jacksonville for Week 10, scheduled to host the Minnesota Vikings (5-2) at 1 p.m. ET next Sunday.

Eagles vs. Jaguars: Best photos from Philadelphia’s 28-23 win in Week 9

We’re looking at the top photos from the Philadelphia Eagles 28-23 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 9 at Lincoln Financial Field

Nick Sirianni left 8+ points on the board with questionable calls, but Philadelphia got stops on defense when needed.  The Eagles moved to 6-2 on Sunday afternoon with a 28-23 win over Jacksonville. A.J. Brown was forced to exit with a knee injury. Still, Saquon Barkley made highlight-reel plays, and DeVonta Smith was a rock as the Eagles’ offense struggled to put the Jaguars away. However, it was functional enough to stay within a game of Washington in the division. With preparation for Dallas set to begin, we’re looking at the top photos from Sunday’s big win. ***

Even Gene Steratore was confused after the officials confirmed Saquon Barkley’s fumble

This should not have been a fumble on Saquon Barkley.

It’s never a good sign for NFL officials if Gene Steratore is disagreeing with your call.

The former referee turned CBS analyst was quite befuddled by a call during Sunday’s Philadelphia Eagles versus Jacksonville Jaguars game. The Eagles were handling the Jaguars well until Jacksonville returned a Saquon Barkley fumble in the third quarter for a touchdown to make it a 22-16 game.

However, Steratore — and the rest of the internet — argued that Barkley should have been ruled down by contact before the fumble, as a Jaguars’ defender clipped the running back’s legs, with the ball only popping out as he hit the ground.

Even after it was reviewed, the officials confirmed the play was a fumble, confusing everyone and mystifying Steratore on CBS’s broadcast. And the evidence is pretty clear, as Barkley’s ankle got touched, causing him to fall before losing the ball after hitting the ground.

Not a great look for the stripes here.

Saquon Barkley makes franchise history while eclipsing 1,000 total yards from scrimmage

Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley makes franchise history while eclipsing 1,000 total yards from scrimmage

Saquon Barkley will shatter several records during his time in Philadelphia, and the Eagles running back just made franchise history on Sunday.

McCoy has been a dual-threat against the Jaguars and went over 1,000 total yards on the season in just eight games.  The feat has only been accomplished by two other players in franchise history.

Philadelphia has eight points on the board, and Barkley was credited with a fumble, which Travon Walker returned for a touchdown.

In all, Barkley has 20 carries for 102 yards (5.1 avg), one rushing touchdown, three catches for 40 yards, and a score entering the fourth quarter.
