Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was named the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Week after producing four total touchdowns in a 33-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium in Week 17.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love was named the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Week after producing four total touchdowns in a 33-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings at U.S. Bank Stadium in Week 17.

Love is the first Packers player to be named Offensive Player of the Week since Aaron Rodgers in Week 15 of the 2021 season.

Against the Vikings, Love completed 24 of 33 passes for 256 yards, three touchdown passes and zero interceptions. He also had a 2-yard rushing touchdown.

Love’s three touchdown passes tied for the NFC lead in Week 17. His 125.3 passer rating and four total touchdowns led all NFC quarterbacks.

Love threw a pair of touchdown passes to Jayden Reed in the first half, and his 9-yard touchdown pass to Bo Melton gave the Packers a 30-3 lead in the third quarter.

The award is the first of Love’s career. He has 30 passing touchdowns and 34 total touchdowns through 16 games this season, his first as a starter in Green Bay.

In the season finale, Love will face Chicago Bears cornerback Tyrique Stevenson, the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Week for Week 17. He had two interceptions and two other pass breakups in the Bears’ win over the Atlanta Falcons.

The last Packers player to win any player of the week award was Keisean Nixon (special teams) in Week 17 of last season. He earned the award after returning a kickoff 105 yards for a touchdown during the Packers’ 41-17 win over the Vikings.

Baker Mayfield wins NFC Offensive Player of the Week

Let him bake.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback [autotag]Baker Mayfield[/autotag] baked on Sunday, and now he has the accolade to prove it.

The team announced Wednesday that Mayfield won the NFC’s Offensive Player of the Week award for his stellar effort against the Green Bay Packers in Week 15. Mayfield becomes the fourth player to win an award for the Bucs this season, joining punter Jake Camarda (NFC Special Teams Player of the Week), Antoine Winfield Jr. (NFC Defensive Player of the Week) and defensive tackle Calijah Kancey (NFL Defensive Rookie of the Month).

Mayfield was nigh perfect in Green Bay, and one could take that literally — he put up a perfect passer rating of 158.3 and completed 78.6% of his passes for 381 yards and four touchdowns. The game was one of the best Mayfield has played in his entire career to this point and helped lead the Bucs to a big 34-20 victory over the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field.

Mayfield is the ninth Bucs quarterback to win the award and the first since QB Tom Brady did it in Week 5 of the 2021 season for his effort against the Miami Dolphins.

49ers’ Brandon Aiyuk wins NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 1

The 49ers pass catcher is the first official NFC Offensive Player of the Week for the 2023 campaign.

After a dominant win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on the road, a member of the San Francisco 49ers is being recognized for his performance in Week 1.

With a two-touchdown effort, Brandon Aiyuk was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 1 of the 2023 NFL campaign. Aiyuk tormented Patrick Peterson and the Steelers’ secondary with a 129-yard performance to go along with two scores.

Along with putting up numbers against the Steelers, Aiyuk’s most crucial play of the day might have come on a run from Christian McCaffrey. On the way to a long touchdown run, Aiyuk laid a pivotal block downfield that sprung the 49ers’ running back.

Kirk Cousins named NFC Offensive Player of the Week

After his historic second half, it should be no surprise

After leading a comeback on what seemed to be an insurmountable lead, it’s no surprise to see awards come his way as quarterback Kirk Cousins was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week.

The first half wasn’t great for Cousins, nor was it for any of the Vikings. They turned the ball over twice and were down 33-0 at halftime. That led to a massive chorus of boos from the home crowd.

The second half had Cousins on a different level. Of his 460 yards, he completed 417 of those yards and all four touchdowns after halftime. His second-half performance will go down as a legendary one in the pantheon of the National Football League.

Cousins became the sixth player this season to win a player of the week award, joining Greg Joseph, joining Justin Jefferson, Za’Darius Smith, Kene Nwangwu, Greg Joseph and Ryan Wright.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts named NFC Offensive Player of the Week again after win over Titans

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts is the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for consecutive weeks after his performance against the Tennessee Titans

Jalen Hurts was honored after his dominant performance against the Green Bay Packers last Sunday night, snagging his first career NFC Offensive Player of the Week honor.

Hurts gained 157 yards on the ground, Breaking Michael Vick’s single-game rushing record set against the Giants in December 2010.

The third-year quarterback also completed 16 of 28 passes for 153 yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Eagles raised their record to 10-1 and Hurts became the third quarterback in NFL history – joining Vick and Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson – to run for 150-plus yards and throw for 150-plus yards in the same game and the first to do so while throwing a pair of touchdown passes.

Well, he’s done it again, earning the honor in back-to-back weeks after his dominant play against the Titans.

Hurts was 29 of 39 passing for 380 yards and three touchdowns becoming the first Eagle to accomplish the feat since Michael Vick in 2010.

Justin Jefferson named Week 10 NFC Offensive Player of the Week

He took over the game against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday

After a spectacular performance against the Buffalo Bills, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for week 10.

With this award, Jefferson becomes the third Vikings to win player of the week with Za’Darius Smith and Greg Joseph also winning their respective awards.

Jefferson was lights out against the top-scoring defense in the Buffalo Bills. On 16 targets, Jefferson amassed 10 receptions for 197 yards and a touchdown. That stat line included arguably the greatest catch in the history of the National Football League.

[lawrence-related id=68876]

While the defense made huge plays, the Vikings don’t win the game without Jefferson and his ability to be clutch when the Vikings needed it the most.

His ability to take over a game in the biggest of moments is what separates him from the rest of the league. He is also on pace to have the NFL’s first season with 2,000 receiving yards and his gear is on display at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Bears QB Justin Fields named NFC Offensive Player of the Week

Bears QB Justin Fields earned NFC Player of the Week honors for his record-setting performance against the Dolphins.

Bears quarterback Justin Fields had his breakout game in Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins, where he also had a record-setting performance.

Fields rushed for 178 yards, the most ever by a quarterback in the regular season. He broke the record previously held by Michael Vick. Fields was also the first player in NFL history to rush for at least 140 yards and throw for three of more touchdowns in a game, since at least 1950.

He accounted for 301 total yards (123 passing, 178 rushing) and four touchdowns in a 35-32 loss to Miami.

Fields’ historic performance earned him NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors. And, to be honest, it was a no-brainer.

Fields reached 20.3 MPH and 20.7 MPH on two runs against the Dolphins, and he’s the only quarterback with multiple 20 MPH-plus runs in a single game this season.

Fields is the best player to earn NFC Offensive Player of the Week honors since Mitch Trubisky did in Week 10 of the 2018 season, when he threw for 355 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 18 yards and a score against the Lions.
