Ohio State running back enters transfer portal

Ohio State running back enters transfer portal #GoBucks

Ohio State football is a couple of days away from taking on the Texas Longhorns in the Cotton Bowl for the right to move on to the College Football Playoff National Championship game, but that hasn’t slowed down the transfer portal news.

Current Buckeyes are still evaluating their futures and one freshman has just opted to find opportunity elsewhere. Sam Williams-Dixon was a homegrown three-star athlete in the class of 2024 from Pickerington North High School in Columbus, Ohio. The running back was able to earn seven carries for 53 yards in the three games he appeared this season.

This one stings a bit more as it always hurts when an Ohio kid looks to move on and Williams-Dixon has enough talent to eventually grow into a special talent for Ohio State. He has also elected to not remain with the team throughout the College Football Playoff.

We wish him good luck!

BOOM! Ohio State gets a commitment from in-state running back

The second BOOM of the day! #GoBucks

The weekend of the spring game is typically a good one for recruiting, and [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] is capitalizing on it. After getting a commitment from Tennessee tight end Max LeBlanc, head coach [autotag]Ryan Day[/autotag] was looking for more.

Day found it. In-state running back [autotag]Sam Williams-Dixon[/autotag] became the second Buckeye verbal of the day. The 5-foot, 11-inch and 203-pound back is categorized as an athlete by the 247Sports composite, but that should change after its next update.

Although he isn’t ranked high, just the 79th athlete and 677th overall prospect, Williams-Dixon is much better than his ranking. He is the 12th commit of the 2024 recruiting cycle that has recently added some of the top offensive player in the country.

Ohio State loses instate running back to Michigan

This one really hurts #GoBucks

It has been a rough go for [autotag]Ohio State[/autotag] on the recruiting trail the last few days. First, it was former Notre Dame signee Brandyn Hillman, who picked Michigan after a visit, not giving the Buckeyes a chance.

Now in-state running back [autotag]Jordan Marshall[/autotag] will join Hillman playing for Ohio State’s rivals. This one hurts a bit more, as Marshall’s father is a Buckeye fan and the ball carrier was viewed as a priority prospect for [autotag]Ryan Day[/autotag].

The good news is that Ohio State has a lot of depth at running back but after not signing one during the 2023 cycle, it is a big need to sign at least two in the 2024 class.

The Buckeyes will now turn their focus to other running back targets like [autotag]James Peoples[/autotag], [autotag]Stacy Gage[/autotag] and [autotag]Sam Williams-Dixon[/autotag]. It remains to be seen if Ohio State will continue to recruit Marshall despite his verbal commitment.
