Colts rule out 4 players vs. 49ers in Week 7

The Colts ruled out four players ahead of the Week 7 matchup with the 49ers.

The Indianapolis Colts have ruled out four players ahead of the Week 7 matchup with the San Francisco 49ers.

The players that have been ruled out include right tackle Braden Smith (foot), defensive end Kemoko Turay (groin), cornerback Rock Ya-Sin (ankle) and running back Jordan Wilkins (non-football illness).

Head coach Frank Reich told the media following practice that wide receiver T.Y. Hilton (quad) is listed as questionable but unlikely to play after failing to log any type of practice this week. He told reporters Thursday that he’s “50-50” to play this week even though it appears he’s more doubtful than questionable.

While Smith was ruled out, there were some positive signs that he’s heading in the right direction. The starting right tackle logged his first practice on Friday since injuring his foot in Week 1. He’s not ready to return yet, but this is at least a positive development.

The Colts will release their final injury report with designations later on Friday, which should give a better idea of the entire injury situation entering the weekend.

Keep an eye on these Colts in Week 6 against the Texans.

The Indianapolis Colts (1-4) are looking to get back on track with a home matchup against the Houston Texans (1-4) at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.

This is a big game for the Colts—one they can’t afford to lose. Heavily favored at home, the Colts haven’t found themselves in this situation yet this season. With that, there will be a number of players to keep an eye on during this divisional bout.

Here are six Colts to watch in the Week 6 matchup against the Texans:

Colts injury updates: A pair of DBs in concussion protocol

Here are the latest injury updates for the Colts heading into Week 6.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich provided some updates on injuries when meeting with the media Tuesday following the Week 5 loss against the Baltimore Ravens.

The biggest concern entering Week 6 will be the secondary as a pair of defensive backs were placed into the concussion protocol.

Here are the injury updates for the Colts as they kick off preparation for Week 6:

Colts have major injuries to monitor entering Week 5

These are the injuries to monitor for the Colts entering Week 5.

Like most teams through the first month of the season, the Indianapolis Colts are dealing with a bevy of injuries on both sides of the ball. They are not alone in this narrative.

Coming off of their first win of the season against the Miami Dolphins in Week 4, head coach Frank Reich said during Monday’s press conference with the media that the team came out with no new injuries to report. That’s encouraging given the situation the Colts are in.

Now entering a prime-time matchup with the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5, there will be a number of injuries to monitor when the Colts return for practice on Thursday.

Here are the major injuries to monitor throughout the week leading up to Indy’s first prime-time game of the season:

Colts rule out 5 starters vs. Dolphins in Week 4

The Colts ruled out five starters, including Quenton Nelson, for the Week 4 game against the Dolphins.

The Indianapolis Colts have ruled out five starters, including left guard Quenton Nelson, ahead of the Week 4 matchup with the Miami Dolphins.

Head coach Frank Reich told reporters Friday that the following players have been ruled out for the road matchup. All five are starters at their respective positions.

  • LG Quenton Nelson (ankle)
  • RT Braden Smith (foot/thumb)
  • CB Rock Ya-Sin (ankle)
  • S Khari Willis (groin)
  • DE Kwity Paye (hamstring)

Nelson being ruled out snaps a streak of 51 consecutive starts for the three-time All-Pro.

The Colts are going to be severely short-handed against the Dolphins and will be doing so with their backs against the wall. Looking to avoid an 0-4 start, the Colts will be leaning on injured quarterback Carson Wentz, who is still playing through two ankle sprains.

The Colts will release the full injury report with designations later on Friday, but this just shows how short-handed they are going into Week 4.

Colts’ injury updates: Several starters in question for Week 4

Here are the latest injury updates for the Colts coming going into Week 4.

The Indianapolis Colts aren’t even a month into the 2021 season yet but they now have several starting players dealing with injuries that have them in question to play in Week 4.

Coming off of an uninspiring loss to the Tennessee Titans, the Colts are now 0-3 and facing a long rest of the season if they can’t get things drastically turned around.

Head coach Frank Reich met with the media on Monday to give some updates on injuries. Let’s dive in:

Colts’ Rock Ya-Sin (ankle) ruled OUT vs. Titans

Colts CB Rock Ya-Sin is OUT with an ankle injury.

Indianapolis Colts cornerback Rock Ya-Sin suffered an ankle injury against the Tennessee Titans and was ruled out in the fourth quarter.

Ya-Sin had a huge impact play in the fourth quarter when he stripped and recovered a fumble against the Titans at the Colts’ six-yard line. The Colts only got a field goal from it, but it was a big play for the third-year cornerback.

Replacing Ya-Sin on the boundary is likely going to be T.J. Carrie and Isaiah Rodgers.

5 Colts to watch vs. Seahawks in Week 1

Keep an eye on these five Colts players in the Week 1 matchup with the Seahawks.

The Indianapolis Colts are looking to snap a seven-game losing streak on opening week when the Seattle Seahawks come to visit Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.

Despite being home underdogs to begin the season, the Colts will be leaning on a new quarterback to lead the solid foundation of a roster that has been built up through many drafts.

As the Colts prepare to start the season on the right foot, here are five players to watch in the Week 1 opener on Sunday:

Studs and duds from Colts’ preseason win over Vikings

Studs and duds from the Colts’ preseason Week 2 win over the Vikings.

The Indianapolis Colts came away with a 12-10 win over the Minnesota Vikings but given that this is the preseason, the focus is more on individual performances rather than the outcome of the game.

Despite the offense struggling to find the end zone, there were still a few encouraging players from Saturday night’s win. On the flip side, there were also some players who didn’t quite live up to expectations.

Here are the studs and duds from the Colts’ preseason win over the Vikings:
