Look: McVay, Stafford, Nacua and Kupp sit courtside at ‘Netflix Slam’ tennis match

The Rams’ stars were out at the “Netflix Slam” where Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz squared off in Las Vegas

The stars were out at the inaugural “Netflix Slam” on Sunday night, an exhibition match between Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal in Las Vegas, including several from the Los Angeles Rams.

Videos showed Sean McVay, Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua all sitting courtside for the Nadal-Alcaraz battle, hanging out together at this awesome event. It’s obviously not the first time they’ve hung out together, but seeing them spending time as a group at an event like this is pretty cool.

Jordan Love and Colin Kaepernick were also sitting in celebrity row for the match, so it wasn’t just the Rams’ stars representing the NFL in Vegas.

Apparently McVay showed off his wide receiver hands by snagging a wayward shot by Nadal. You can only see the aftermath in the video below, but the former college receiver has some good hands.

Here’s another photo of the group together at the event, along with some others.

Alcaraz took down the legendary Nadal, 14-12, coming from behind to beat his idol.

Roger Federer’s farewell interview will leave you sobbing along with him (and Rafael Nadal)

It was an emotional night for everyone, from Federer and Nadal to tennis fans around the world.

Roger Federer, one of the greatest tennis players of all time, officially played his final match Friday night in London — technically it went past midnight into Saturday across the pond — marking the end of a remarkable, record-breaking career that included 20 Grand Slam championships.

Representing Team Europe in the Laver Cup, the 41-year-old superstar teamed up with friend and rival Rafael Nadal for a doubles match against against Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock of Team World.

Federer and Nadal lost a thrilling match that came down to a tiebreak, but the result of the contest wasn’t really the point. It was one last chance for one of the sport’s GOATs to take the court and one last chance for his fans to savor his excellence.

When it was all over, Federer delivered a heartfelt, emotional interview on the court, thanking his fans, his competitors and, of course, his family. It was sweet and classy, but also heartbreaking.

And while Federer struggled to maintain his composure through some tears, his fans, along with Nadal, struggled right there with him.

Federer said on the court:

“I enjoyed tying my shoes one more time, and everything was the last time. And funny enough, with all the matches and having the guys and being here — fans, family, friends — didn’t feel the stress so much. … I am so happy I made it through, and the match was great. I couldn’t be happier, so been wonderful. And of course playing with Rafa on the same team and having the guys everybody here all the legends.”

He continued:

“It is amazing. It really is. I didn’t want it to feel lonely out there. felt lonely for a second when they told me to go out or you wanted me to come out one more time, and it feels great. But to be saying goodbye on a team, I always felt that was a team player at heart. Singles doesn’t really do that a whole lot, but I’ve had a team you know traveled with me around the world. It’s been amazing with them. So thanks to everybody who made it work for so many years.

“And then of course being on the team with Andy [Murray], Thomas [Enqvist], Novak [Djokovic], Matteo [Berrettini], Cam [Bjorn Borg], Stefanos [Tsitsipas], Rafa and Casper [Ruud], and also the all the other teams of guys are unbelievable. It’s been a pleasure playing all these Laver Cups, and it does feel like a celebration to me. I want it to feel like this at the end, and it’s exactly what I hoped for. So thank you.”

It was an incredibly emotional night for Federer, those around him and his fans, as the tribute and celebration continued.

The best photos from the final match of Roger Federer’s incredible career

The 20-time Grand Slam singles champion played his final match on Friday night.

It wasn’t the way Roger Federer wanted to end his 20-time Grand Slam singles title career, but it was still an emotional night on Friday as Federer played his final professional match.

After winning the first set, Federer and doubles partner Rafael Nadal — who spent most of their careers as rivals — fell in a tiebreaker to Team World’s Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock in Federer’s lone match at the Laver Cup in London.

Federer ranks second all-time in ATP wins, and his retirement certainly marks the end of an era for the sport of tennis. After the match, Federer was honored on the court by both the fellow members of Team Europe and the opposing team.

Here were the best photos from the emotional evening.

Roger Federer played the final match of his career on Friday night, and it was emotional for fans

What a career it was.

One of the most legendary careers in tennis history came to an end on Friday night as 20-time Grand Slam singles champion Roger Federer played his final match.

Teamed up with Rafael Nadal representing Europe in a double match against Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock of Team World. It was an excellent match that came down to a tiebreaker, but Federer and Nadal ultimately came up short after winning the first set.

It was clearly an emotional moment on the court in London at the Laver Cup as Federer completed the final match of his practically unparalleled 24-year professional career.

Federer’s fans shared the same sentiment.

Roger Federer somehow hit the ball through the corner of the net in his final match, and fans were blown away

How is this even possible?

Roger Federer can’t help but hit shots that make us question the laws of physics, even in the final match of his career.

The 20-time Grand Slam singles champion is considered one of the greatest men’s tennis players of all time, but he’s calling it a career after 24 years and 103 ATP singles titles — the second most of all time.

In the final match of his career at the Laver Cup in London, Federer teamed up with longtime rival Rafael Nadal to represent Team Europe in a doubles matchup against US Open semifinalist Francis Tiafoe and Jack Sock of Team World.

In the first set, Federer somehow weaved a shot through the literal corner of the net in one of the most impressive feats of precision I’ve ever seen.

Seriously, how is this possible?

Even the announcers couldn’t get over it, remarking that they had never seen anything quite like it before. With all eyes on the final match of Federer’s illustrious career, fans were absolutely stunned by the mind-boggling shot.

Roger Federer and doubles partner Rafael Nadal are slight favorites in Federer’s final career match

How to watch Roger Federer’s final career match.

Roger Federer is putting a bow on his illustrious tennis career Friday after 24 years, 103 titles, 20 grand slams and so many more incredible accolades.

His final match will be a doubles competition in the Laver Cup, an event that puts Team Europe against Team World every two years. And his partner will be none other than close rival and friend Rafael Nadal, who has 22 grand slam titles himself.

However, despite the 42 grand slams between two tennis giants, their match against Americans Jack Sock and Francis Tiafoe is essentially a pick ’em at Tipico Sportsbook, with Federer and Nadal only slight favorites at -125 odds. The odds for Sock and Tiafoe are -102. Set winner odds are -120 for Federer/Nadal and -110 for Sock/Tiafoe.

Tiafoe beat Nadal in the US Open Round of 16 earlier this month. Can Federer turn back to clock and help his team get the win? The action starts Friday at 3:20 p.m. ET on the Tennis Channel, which can also be streamed on Sling TV or FuboTV for those without cable.

Rafael Nadal shares touching message for retiring Roger Federer: ‘I wish this day would have never come’

Same, Rafa. Same.

After Roger Federer, unquestionably one of the greatest tennis players ever, announced Thursday his plans to retire following the Laver Cup tournament in London this month, the tributes poured in.

“Tennis has treated me more generiously than I would have dreamt, and now I must recognize when it is time to end my competitive career,” Federer said in his retirement announcement on Twitter. “I will play more tennis in the future, of course, but just not in Grand Slams or on the tour.”

Tennis fans everywhere were saddened by the living legend’s imminent departure from the sport he changed while helping usher in an incredible age of men’s professional tennis, alongside Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic. But they also celebrated his accolade-filled career, which includes 20 Grand Slam victories.

Federer’s peers in the tennis world also paid tribute to one of the greatest to ever play, but one player’s reaction to the retirement news stands out. On Twitter, Nadal wrote a touching message to exiting Federer, calling it “an honor and privilege to share all these years with” him.

Nadal — who currently has the men’s all-time Grand Slam wins record at 22 — wrote:

Dear Roger,my friend and rival.
I wish this day would have never come. It’s a sad day for me personally and for sports around the world.
It’s been a pleasure but also an honor and privilege to share all these years with you, living so many amazing moments on and off the court 👇🏻

We will have many more moments to share together in the future, there are still lots of things to do together, we know that.
For now, I truly wish you all the happiness with your wife, Mirka, your kids, your family and enjoy what’s ahead of you. I’ll see you in London
@LaverCup

On the court, these two shared more than moments; they delivered epic and unforgettable battles, often in Grand Slam finals. Three of Federer’s 20 major titles were won against Nadal, so with that in mind, here’s a look back at some special matches and moments between these two superstars.
