BREAKING: Bucs WR Mike Evans makes 2024 Pro Bowl Games

Evans was the only Bucs player nominated to the Pro Bowl.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are sending one of their players to the Pro Bowl, and it’s someone who’s no stranger to it.

Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans is set to be a starter for the Pro Bowl Games in Orlando for 2024. The nod is Evans’ fifth of his career and his first since 2021.

Evans currently leads the NFL in receiving touchdowns with 13, one more than Tyreek Hill’s 12. Evans also has his 10th-consecutive 1,000-yard season in 2023, the longest streak from the start of a player’s career. As it stands, Evans has currently amassed those 12 touchdowns on 1,233 yards from 76 receptions.

Evans was the only Bucs Pro Bowler named. First alternates include Antoine Winfield Jr. (who shockingly did not make it) and tackle Tristan Wirfs.

3 Chargers who deserve to make the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl

A few Chargers players are worthy of national recognition.

Pro Bowl voting season ends on December 26th, 2023, and while the Chargers have had an unfortunate season of difficult injuries and much-needed staffing changes, there have been several standout players who have shone through the adversity.

Here are three Chargers players who should go to the 2024 Pro Bowl.

Cameron Dicker

Dicker has been automatic since entering the league as an undrafted rookie in 2022. After kicking a game-winning field goal for the Eagles while filling in for injured kicker Jake Elliot, Dicker found himself on the Chargers and finished out his season on the active roster with 100% extra points made and a field goal percentage of 95%. In 2023, Dicker continues to impress, with 100% extra points made and a field goal percentage of 96% through Week 16. In an unfortunate – but albeit fun – loss to the Bills on Dec. 23rd, Dicker made 5 of 5 field goals with a long of 53 yards. It’s been a rough special teams history for the Chargers, and it’s been a great change of pace for the team to have such a solid corps and an automatic kicker.

Khalil Mack

Mack has had an unbelievable season for the Chargers. After the dreadful loss to the Jaguars in the wild-card round of last year’s playoffs, Mack considered retiring. But thank goodness he didn’t. He has been putting up sacks and pressures like he never has before, touting career-high numbers in almost every category and landing 4th in the league in sacks and 1st in forced fumbles. Mack’s elite season has allowed the Chargers to stay in many games that would have otherwise been lost. It goes to show that greatness is often born through adversity – something that many players on this team have experienced themselves, Mack among them. This off-season will be incredibly interesting for the Chargers front office, with the hiring of a new head coach and a new general manager. He is a player that fans will want to keep their eye on since his contract comes with a massive 2024 cap hit. Players will have to be cut, and before this season, he was on the list of potential losses, but after this All-Pro level season – Mack should not be one of them.

Keenan Allen

Allen is currently injured, this has no impact on whether or not he deserves a Pro Bowl vote this season – which he most definitely does. Up until his untimely injury (and quarterback Justin Herbert’s), Allen was on pace to have a career year at the age of 32. Even after missing the Bills game in Week 16, he is still sitting at 2nd in the league for receptions, 7th in yards, and 10th in touchdowns. He has been the make-or-break player in multiple games all year – and the Herbert-to-Allen connection is explosive. Since entering the league, Allen has been a top route runner and continues to make incredible plays and get separation where other wide receivers would normally struggle. This has been the key to an otherwise struggling Chargers offense all year and was sorely missed during the Bills game. Hopefully, Allen can get back on the field and pad those stats to still hit personal records – after all, he only needs another 150 yards and a touchdown to tie his 2013 career-best.

The 2024 Pro Bowl Games kick off on February 2nd.

Watch Chargers kicker Cameron Dicker’s hilarious Pro Bowl campaign video

Cameron Dicker has been one of the league’s most efficient kickers.

Pro Bowl voting is underway.

In an effort to get people’s vote for kicker Cameron Dicker, the Chargers social media put out a hilarious campaign video to promote him.

“Have you ever been victimized by a missed field goal?” while a video missed field goals from other kickers is played.

“My name is Cameron Dicker and I’ll kick for you,” Dicker adds. “50, 40, 30, doesn’t matter. I’ll make it. Rain, sleet or snow, this leg’s ready to go.”

Despite a dud of a season, Dicker has been a bright spot for the Bolts. He has converted 19 of his 20 field goal attempts with four out of five of them being from 50+ yards, and he has made all 34 of his extra points.

If you want to send Dicker to the Pro Bowl, you can vote for him here.

49ers dominating early Pro Bowl voting

Here is where members of the 49ers stack up in the latest wave of Pro Bowl voting.

With the final quarter of the NFL season around the corner, the first waves of Pro Bowl voting from the 2023 campaign is beginning to be revealed. On Wednesday, the NFL announced another round of Pro Bowl votes. While Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa leads the pack, members of the San Francisco 49ers are littered near the top of the list.

Behind Tagovailoa, 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey sits at No. 2. with 100,008 votes. Quarterback Brock Purdy cracked the top-five with 84, 613 votes.

The 49ers lead all NFL teams in total votes received with the Dolphins sitting right behind them. Ten different members of the 49ers are sitting in pole position to represent the NFC at the Pro Bowl.

Fan voting is open through Christmas day on Monday, Dec. 25. Players and coaches will then place their votes on Dec. 29. Players with the most amount of votes will head to Orlando in early Feb. for Pro Bowl weekend.

Here is a look at where members of the 49ers currently stack up in Pro Bowl voting.

3 Raiders in top ten at their positions in NFL Pro Bowl fan voting

3 Raiders in top ten at their positions in Pro Bowl fan voting

It’s been two weeks since fan voting opened for the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl. They NFL put out the results of the voting today and a few Raiders players show up in the top ten at their respective positions.

Maxx Crosby — No. 3 DE
Josh Jacobs — No. 4 RB
AJ Cole — No. 8 P

Based on the numbers, that is probably too low for Crosby and Cole and too high for Jacobs.

Listed ahead of Crosby are Myles Garrett and Nick Bosa. The thing is Crosby has more sacks (13.5), tackles for loss (18), stops (45), and combined tackles (76) than either of them. Crosby’s sack total is third in the league and his tackles for loss, stops, and combined tackles all lead the league among edge rushers.

The only stat where Bosa and Garrett have him beat are QB hits.

Cole’s 45.9 net average leads the NFL, his 51.3 punt average is second, last week he tied the NFL’s longest punt (83) this season, he has the seventh most punts stopped inside the 20 (24), and has the fourth fewest punt returns (22) among those with over 50 punts. None of these numbers suggest 8th in voting is anywhere near appropriate.

Despite leading the league in carries (233), Josh Jacobs is still sixth in yards (805), and 11th in touchdowns (6). So, fourth in voting would seem to be judging him by his numbers last season.

Not among the top ten at their position, though probably worthy would be Davante Adams and Kolton Miller. There is a case that could be made for Robert Spillane as well.

Pro Bowl voting update: Good news and bad news for Broncos players

Be sure to cast your #ProBowlVote for these deserving Broncos players!

Initial results from fan voting for the 2024 Pro Bowl are in and they offer a mixed bag for Denver Broncos players.

The Broncos have five players ranked among the top 10 vote-getters at their respective positions, but Denver also has a few very notable omissions.

Broncos center Lloyd Cushenberry has received the tenth-most fan votes at his position (fifth-most among AFC centers). Safety Justin Simmons has received the third-most votes at safety (second in the AFC behind Geno Stone of the Ravens). Kicker Wil Lutz has received the eighth-most votes (fourth-most in the AFC). Ex-Denver kicker Brandon McManus (now with the Jaguars) has received the ninth-most votes among kickers.

Broncos returner Marvin Mims ranks ninth among returners (fourth in the AFC). It’s going to be hard for any AFC returner to top Dolphins returner Braxton Berrios in fan voting given that Berrios is dating a social media influencer, likely leading to more votes for him on social media.

Denver fullback Michael Burton ranks eighth among fullbacks in fan voting (fourth among AFC fullbacks). It’s not very difficult to rank among the top ten at fullback given that there are 12 fullbacks in the entire NFL, with half of them in the AFC. Former Broncos fullback Andrew Beck ranks above Burton at No. 6 among FBs.

That’s the good news for Broncos players — Cushenberry, Simmons, Lutz, Mims and Burton rank among the top ten at their respective positions. The bad news is that cornerback Pat Surtain, guard Quinn Meinerz, wide receiver Courtland Sutton and left tackle Garett Bolles do NOT rank among the most popular fan choices at their respective positions for the Pro Bowl.

AFC cornerbacks Jalen Ramsey (Dolphins), Cam Taylor-Britt (Bengals), Rasul Douglas (Bills), L’Jarius Sneed (Chiefs) and Kenny Moore (Colts) all rank above Surtain. The fact that neither Surtain nor Sauce Gardner are among the top ten suggests that fans are voting based on interception stats instead of based on overall performance.

AFC guards Kevin Zeitler (Ravens), Joe Thuney (Chiefs), Joel Bitonio (Browns), Quenton Nelson (Colts), Trey Smith (Chiefs) and Robert Hunt (Dolphins) rank above Meinerz. AFC offensive tackle Terron Armstead (Dolphins), Laremy Tunsil (Texans) and Dion Dawkins (Bills) rank above Bolles.

AFC receivers Tyreek Hill (Dolphins), Keenan Allen (Chargers), Stefon Diggs (Bills), Ja’Marr Chase (Bengals) and Tank Dell (Texans) rank above Sutton. Dell is now sidelined by injury, so Sutton might move up in fan voting over the next few weeks.

Fan voting is not over yet — it runs through Christmas — so there’s still time to vote for your favorite players at NFL.com/ProBowl. It’s also worth noting that fan voting only accounts for one-third of the vote (the other two-thirds of the voting is done by coaches and players). So the Broncos players not doing well in fan voting (most notably Surtain) will likely make up ground when players and coaches vote later this month.

The 2024 Pro Bowl will be a flag football game in Orlando next February with Peyton Manning (AFC) and Eli Manning (NFC) serving as coaches.

5 Commanders among the top 10 in Pro Bowl voting at their positions

It wouldn’t be a surprise if no Commanders were selected for the Pro Bowl.

Pro Bowl voting is underway. On Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network released a list of the top 10 vote earners at every position.

Five Washington Commanders, led by quarterback Sam Howell, were among the top 10 at their respective positions.

Here’s the complete list for Washington:

  • QB Sam Howell: 10th
  • KR Antonio Gibson: 7th
  • DT Jonathan Allen: 8th
  • S Kam Curl: 4th
  • S Terrell Burgess (special teams): 1st

Obviously, Burgess is the biggest surprise here. Safety Jeremy Reaves was named to the Pro Bowl as a special-teamer last season and also earned first-team All-Pro honors. Reaves was lost for the season with a knee injury in Week 5. Burgess was signed over the summer.

It’s been an up-and-down season for Howell. The second-year quarterback has had many good moments this season, but does have 14 interceptions and has been sacked 58 times.

Gibson is averaging 24.3 yards per kick return. Allen, who has been named to the last two Pro Bowls, is having a down season, along with every other member of Washington’s defense. Speaking of the defense, Curl is looking to make his first Pro Bowl in what has been a down season for him, too.

Pro Bowl voting ends on Dec. 25.

The traditional Pro Bowl was replaced by “Pro Bowl Games” last season, and four Commanders participated: Allen, Terry McLaurin, Daron Payne and Tress Way.

Pro Bowl voting: Puka Nacua, Aaron Donald among top 10 at their positions

The Rams only have two players who are among the top 10 vote-getters at their respective positions: Puka Nacua and Aaron Donald

Voting for the 2024 Pro Bowl games has begun but Los Angeles Rams players aren’t getting much love after the first round of votes. Tom Pelissero of NFL Network shared a list of the top 10 at each position and the Rams only had two representatives: Puka Nacua at wide receiver and Aaron Donald at defensive tackle.

No other Rams players rank in the top 10 at their respective positions, though Kevin Dotson, Matthew Stafford, Kyren Williams and Kobie Turner are certainly deserving of at least some Pro Bowl recognition.

Donald is fifth in total votes among defensive tackles, behind Chris Jones, Justin Madubuike, Christian Wilkins and Javon Hargrave. Nacua is seventh among wide receivers, with six superstars ahead of him: Tyreek Hill, CeeDee Lamb, A.J. Brown, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Keenan Allen and Stefon Diggs. All of those players except for Diggs have more yards than Nacua this season.

It’s impressive that Nacua, a fifth-round rookie, is getting as many votes as he is. He’s having a remarkable first season in the NFL and his personality makes him a likable player for fans of any team.

Fans can vote for their favorite players through Dec. 25, with players and coaches then voting on Dec. 29.

Broncos Wire podcast: Texans preview and Pro Bowl candidates

On the latest Broncos Wire post, we detail Denver’s playoff chances, identify Pro Bowl-worthy Broncos & preview the Texans game. Listen in!

Just like that, the Denver Broncos are suddenly playoff contenders.

On this week’s Broncos Wire podcast, I joined host Ryan O’Leary to discuss the win against the Browns, detail Denver’s playoff chances, identify Pro Bowl-worthy Broncos and preview Sunday’s game against the Texans.

Our notes for this week’s pod can be seen below.

The Broncos look like the real deal
  • Following a 29-12 win (Scorigami!) over the Browns, the Broncos have now won five straight games and are 6-5.
  • Sunday was not a fluky win. Denver won a convincing game against a good AFC team. The Broncos out-rushed the Browns 169-107 and sacked Cleveland QBs four times while only allowing one sack (none to Myles Garrett). Denver also had another three-takeaway game.
  • The Broncos look like a well-coached unit, and they now have a legitimate chance to make the NFL playoffs after a 1-5 start.
Playoff push
  • Right now, Denver is the ninth seed behind the 6-5 Texans (who the Broncos will face on Sunday) and 6-5 Colts (who have a tiebreaker edge at the moment).
  • Cleveland is down at least one QB, Pittsburgh is stuck with Kenny Pickett, Buffalo lost head-to-head against Denver and Houston will host the Broncos in Week 13. Getting to the seventh seed is a real possibility.
  • The Broncos probably need to get to 10 wins, which would be winning four of their next six: @ Texans, @ Chargers, @ Lions, vs. Patriots, vs. Chargers, @ Raiders. Huge game against the Texans coming up and a tough three-game road stretch on deck.
Pro Bowl voting
  • Fan voting for the 2024 Pro Bowl opened on Monday (it’s going to be a flag football format again with Peyton and Eli coaching).
  • Broncos who deserve to make it: CB Pat Surtain, DB Kareem Jackson, returner Marvin Mims, OG Quinn Meinerz, WR Courtland Sutton.
  • Honorable mentions: QB Russell Wilson (20-4 TD-INT), CB Ja’Quan McMillian, OLB Baron Browning.
Texans game
  • Despite winning their last five games, the Broncos are listed as 3-point underdogs against the Texans. Game is in Houston and oddsmakers probably want to tap into betters buying into Denver’s winning streak.
  • In theory, the Broncos could win this game, split with the Chargers and lose to the Lions and still win 10 games. Or Denver could lose this game, sweep the Chargers and lose in Detroit and still get to 10 wins. Maybe I’m getting too far ahead of myself, though. Can the Broncos get a win on Sunday?

Ryan and I will return each week during the season to react to every game.

Which Bucs are worthy of making the Pro Bowl?

Which Bucs players will you be voting for to get the Pro Bowl nod?

Voting has officially opened for the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl. This begs the question — What Bucs should make the upcoming Pro Bowl roster?

While this season has been underwhelming for a lot of Tampa Bay fans, there are still plenty of talented players on the roster who have been performing at an all-star level this season. Here’s who I think deserves a Pro Bowl nod for their performance this season:

This choice is obvious. Despite being in his 10th NFL season, Evans is absolutely tearing it up for Tampa Bay. The star receiver is just 150 yards shy of 1,000. When he does reach the threshold, he’ll be one year shy of HOF receiver Jerry Rice’s record of 11-straight 1,000-yard seasons.

Not to mention, Evans has been a huge red zone target for Baker Mayfield this season and has been on the receiving end of nine of Mayfield’s 17 touchdown passes.
