WATCH: Baker Mayfield’s hilarious mic’d up moments from the Pro Bowl Games

Never change, Baker.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback [autotag]Baker Mayfield[/autotag] had the opportunity to participate in the Pro Bowl Games after Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott could not play due to injury, and he certainly made it count in Orlando.

Mayfield won the Precision Passing event on Thursday before throwing two touchdowns on Sunday and serving as the MVP of the games. He also happened to be mic’d up, and with a guy like Mayfield, you know that’s always going to be entertaining.

From Mayfield’s outer monologue from warmups, his support of teammate Tristan Wirfs on the sled pull event and his words with the flag football referees, check out some of his hilarious clips from the Pro Bowl Games below:

Ray Lewis’ comically bad janitor disguise at the Pro Bowl had NFL players in disbelief

“The smallest man in Orlando!”

Ray Lewis went undercover at the Pro Bowl to hand out compliments (and sneaky insults) to several NFL players, and the results are hysterical.

The Pro Bowl allows fans to take in some of the NFL’s best talent. The best part of the event is that players are asked to do things they don’t normally do, like play dodgeball, field punts with footballs already in their arms or turn into a rapper like Eli Manning did.

But what about dressing up as a janitor to hand out compliments and disses about other players? That’s what NFL Hall of Famer Ray Lewis did, and the results are as hilarious as you think they are.

Eli Manning rapped the most delightfully dorky diss at Tom Brady during NFL Pro Bowl Games

Eli Manning making fun of Tom Brady is always funny.

Former NFL quarterback Eli Manning threw out his rapping skills at the Pro Bowl Games this past weekend, and he got in a pretty funny diss at Tom Brady in the process.

While we don’t recommend Manning drop his day job to pursue a career in hip-hop, the coach of the Pro Bowl Games NFC team hyped his team up by laying down a few bars about how he beat Tom Brady in the Super Bowl twice.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

Everyone on the NFC team immediately loved Manning’s silly diss at Brady, as it’s genuinely impossible not to at least smirk at how far Manning was willing to go to entertain his guys.

Manning has established himself as one of the most beloved figures in NFL media, and we’re guessing even Brady got a kick out of Manning’s very funny attempt at rapping.

While Brady probably wants those Super Bowls back, this clip is something everyone (except for salty New England Patriots fans) can enjoy.

Eagles C Jason Kelce pays tribute to Ryan Jensen at Pro Bowl Games

Kelce had a lot of nice words to say about Jensen after his retirement, calling him one of the best centers in the NFL.

Game recognizes game, as they say. And one of the best centers to ever play football had some very nice things to say about former Tampa Bay Buccaneers center Ryan Jensen, who announced his retirement last week.

At the Pro Bowl Games in Orlando, Florida, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce was asked about Jensen’s recent retirement. The six-time first-team All-Pro had a lot of respect for Jensen, whom he singled out as one of the best centers in the league.

Here’s what Kelce said about Jensen:

“In his tenure in the NFL, he was one of the best centers in the league. Not only was he imposing physically, but he was an imposing personality — he was a tough, physical guy. He was a guy that set the tone for whatever team it was, Baltimore or Tampa Bay. He had an incredible year. Of course he had some injuries, but he was one of my favorite players to watch. He was going to bring it day in and day out, every game, you love watching Ryan Jensen play. He can look back on that with a lot of pride, and I think I speak for a lot of guys in the NFL when I say that Ryan played the game the way you would want a center, or any offensive lineman, to play.”

Kelce and Jensen have been on opposing sidelines a few times in their career. Most recently they met on the field after the Bucs defeated the Eagles in a blowout in the wild-card round last month. Kelce’s comments come amid speculation that he himself could retire from football after this season. If he does, both centers will have gone out with a lot of great play to look back on.

Geno Smith takes heat on Twitter for throwing 3 Pro Bowl interceptions

Here’s how the meanest site on the planet reacted to Geno Smith’s picks at the Pro Bowl.

The NFL’s annual Pro Bowl Games culminated on Sunday afternoon with the big finale, a flag football game. The Seahawks wound up sending six players to this year’s Pro Bowl, with three of them being replacements for injured players. One of them was Seattle’s starting quarterback Geno Smith, who wound up leading the NFC team in passing yards in a win.

However, Smith also threw three interceptions during the game and for a few dark minutes he was the main character on Twitter. Here’s how the meanest site on the planet reacted to Geno Smith’s picks at the Pro Bowl.

Watch: Puka Nacua dominates Madden matchup in Pro Bowl Games, wins Skills Challenge MVP

Puka Nacua is having himself at week at the Pro Bowl, winning Skills Challenge MVP after dominating in Madden with Micah Parsons

The latest rendition of the Pro Bowl Games isn’t like your grandfather’s Pro Bowl. There isn’t just one game between the NFC and AFC in Hawaii, with the best players in the world putting in 75% effort so as not to get injured before the next season.

This edition of the Pro Bowl features everything from a skills competition to dodgeball to a flag football game, and Puka Nacua is having the time of his life participating in Orlando. He took part in the Best Catch competition, making a sweet grab while wakeboarding.

He also wore a GoPro in practice for a first-person look at what he sees on the field, which was neat. On Saturday, he and Micah Parsons represented the NFC squad in a game of Madden against David Njoku and Tyreek Hill.

Nacua dominated, getting out to a 15-0 lead against Njoku with a couple of picks and even a touchdown thrown to himself in the game.

“Yessirski” was the word of the day for Nacua, who yelled it repeatedly as he and Parsons cruised to an easy win.

Here are some highlights from the Madden matchup.

After helping the NFC side win this battle against the AFC, Nacua was named the Pro Bowl Games Skills Challenge MVP, adding to what’s been a historic rookie season.

Watch: Titans’ Derrick Henry was mic’d up at the Pro Bowl Games

Titans RB Derrick Henry was mic’d up while attending the Pro Bowl Games this past week.

In what might be the last time he represents the Tennessee Titans during his playing career (of course, he’ll always be a Tennessee Titan), running back Derrick Henry is taking part in this year’s Pro Bowl Games.

Henry, who is set to be a free agent, is coming off another impressive season in which he tallied 1,167 yards and 12 touchdowns, ranking second and tied for seventh in the NFL, respectively.

Those aren’t the eye-popping numbers we’ve grown accustomed to over the years, but it’s important to note that Henry was running behind a terrible offensive line and still managed to break the 1,000-yard mark.

Now, the sights and sounds of the Pro Bowl Games from Henry’s perspective.

Henry’s future with the Titans is very much up in the air, but both sides have at least kept the door open for his return, so there’s a chance.

Check out Henry taking part in the Pro Bowl Games on Sunday, Feb. 4, at 2 p.m. CST.

NFL Pro Bowl Games offer perfect highlight on 49ers success in 2023

The NFL Pro Bowl Games feature zero #49ers — the best possible outcome.

The NFL Pro Bowl Games have begun with dodgeball and various skills competitions replacing the traditional poor facsimile of a professional tackle football game. Now the NFL’s All-Star festivities end Sunday with a flag football game between the league’s two conferences.

While the Pro Bowl has become more of a sham than a showcase of the NFL’s top talent, the football version of an All-Star game offers a lens that underscores just how good the 49ers were in the 2023 season.

San Francisco had a ludicrous number of players either in the games or as alternates. Nine players made the roster, with an additional 12 listed as alternates. Part of the reason they had 21 participants/alternates is due to their long-term success and the pull the 49ers fan base has across the country. Fan voting heavily favored San Francisco and helped some players get into the mix who might not have been there with a different club.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

Aside from that though, the best part of the Pro Bowl Games for the 49ers will be that none of their players will be there. Super Bowl participants don’t take part in the games because of preparations for the big game.

San Francisco perfectly threaded the needle. They had a ton of good individual performances this season and put nine players on the NFC’s roster, and then they had the team success in the playoffs to skip the All-Star festivities.

For 49ers fans watching this year, there’s no better sight than George Kittle, Brock Purdy and the rest of their Pro Bowlers not partaking in the end-of-weekend flag football game. They’ll have to wait a week for the next Sunday when they’ll partake in the end-of-season football game instead.

Baker Mayfield on Bucs future: ‘we’ve got to know who’s calling plays’

Mayfield said in an interview at the Pro Bowl Games that while there’s mutual interest in returning to Tampa Bay, the Bucs’ OC pick will be a part of his offseason decision.

Right when the NFL season ended for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, a reunion with quarterback [autotag]Baker Mayfield[/autotag] seemed certain. And then offensive coordinator Dave Canales left.

Canales helped coach Mayfield to one of his career-best seasons, and now that he’s become the head coach of the Carolina Panthers, Mayfield’s future with Tampa Bay is just a bit murkier. Mayfield recently did an interview with the NFL’s Grant Gordon at the Pro Bowl Games, and he stressed that while he and Tampa Bay have mutual interest for 2024, knowing who the playcaller will be will certainly be a factor in his decision.

Here’s what Mayfield had to say about the situation:

“My agent and them, I think they engaged a little bit. But obviously, when Canales left — and happy for him, as well, getting a head coaching job, he deserves that — but when they started the OC search, I think they know that we’ve got to know who’s calling plays before anything’s done.”

Despite that declaration, Mayfield still seems fond of Tampa Bay. As Gordon noted, he used “we” to refer to the Bucs whenever he talked about them for most of the interview, and he was particularly thankful for the organization and what they did to him. Additionally, he made mention of Tampa Bay’s free agency situation and seemed confident that the Bucs would re-sign some of their big free agents in the offseason.

“We’re gonna get some pieces back. Everything that we did in the back half of the year, to build on culture-wise, it was a great locker room. So you get a lot of those pieces back and the culture’s the most important thing. I know we had a little bit of a lull there halfway through the season, but we stuck through it. I know they hung with us the whole time, but hang in there again.”

The Bucs are still in their search for an offensive coordinator. The team is being thorough, having interviewed six candidates so far — the team interviewed 10 last year before signing Canales late February. What Mayfield doesn’t next remains to be seen, but he seems to have made clear that he wants to see who the next Bucs OC is — even if he’s already partial to the team.
