The NBA should be concerned that the Boston Celtics can beat good teams shorthanded

If Boston can do this against one of the better teams in the East down multiple players in their frontcourt, the rest of the league should be nervous.

The Boston Celtics showed off their depth in a short-handed victory in the back end of a back-to-back at TD Garden on Friday, defeating the Orlando Magic 128-111. Despite missing key big men like Kristaps Porzingis, Luke Kornet and Al Horford, the Celtics secured their fourth consecutive win vs. the Magic, propelled by Jayson Tatum’s impressive performance, Jaylen Brown’s electrifying dunks, and the contributions of underrated players like Derrick White, Sam Hauser, and even rarely-played forward Lamar Stevens.

The team’s victory against Orlando extends their undefeated home record to an impressive 13-0 record and is seen as a revenge win against the Magic, who had previously dominated the head-to-head matchups over the course of the two team’s last several meetings.

If Boston can do this against one of the better teams in the East down multiple players in their frontcourt, the rest of the league should be nervous.

The folks behind the “D Flow Hoops” YouTube channel put together this video breaking down what the win means in a wider context — check it out!

Have the Boston Celtics found out the Orlando Magic’s vulnerability?

Jaylen Brown called it the biggest game of the season so far,

After the Boston Celtics beat the Orlando Magic soundly at TD Garden on this past Friday night for the first time in several games, star Celtics forward Jaylen Brown called it the biggest game of the season so far, especially since the Magic had “been kicking our (expletive)” in recent meetings.

He and reserve combo guard Payton Pritchard acknowledged the growing rivalry between the two teams, as well as the internal fortitude it took not only to beat the team that has been one of the worst matchups for the Celtics in some time, but also to do it down three of their best big men as well.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast Jack Simone and Sam La France recently took a deep dive into the impressive win for Boston on their show.

Was the Boston Celtics’ home blowout of the Orlando Magic their best game of the season?

Just how big of a statement was the win?

Following the Boston Celtics’ 128-111 shorthanded victory over the Orlando Magic at TD Garden on Friday night, a game that turned into a blowout win largely due to the exceptional performance of their bench players when the big man rotation was out of commission.

That bench mob contributed 47 points from players who had seen sporadic action earlier in the NBA’s 2023-24 season. Since then, some questions have arisen about the significance of this win, especially after some comments to that effect from star forward Jaylen Brown postgame that framed it as the best of the season.

CLNS Media’s Bobby Manning and Josue Pavon engaged in a debate post-game at TD Garden, specifically on whether this victory was a statement win or possibly even the best win of the year for the Celtics.

Shorthanded Celtics clobber Magic at home in revenge game

All-NBA forward Jaylen Brown said this was their “biggest game of the season” after the win.

The Boston Celtics snapped a four-game losing streak against the Orlando Magic at TD Garden on Friday in something of a revenge game given Boston’s recent struggles vs. this young and long ball club. The Celtics were short-handed missing several key players, but still pulled off a dominant 128-111 victory.

All-NBA forward Jaylen Brown said this was their “biggest game of the season” after the win and the team responded well to being down multiple key players. Brown had 18 points while fellow star forward Jayson Tatum recorded a quiet 30 points. Backup forward Sam Hauser and reserve guard Payton Pritchard were catalysts off the bench, with Hauser notching 11 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and a career-high 4 steals and Pritchard exploding for 21 points on 6-of-7 3-point shooting.

Head coach Joe Mazzulla praised the bench guys for stepping up when called upon.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast broke down the victory postgame — check it out above!

PHOTOS: Boston vs. Orlando – Celtics wallop Magic 128-111 despite thin frontcourt

Let’s take a look at some of the best moments captured in images in the Celtics’ 24th game of the 2023-24 NBA season vs. the Magic.

Fans of the Boston Celtics who had heard the news that not only Kristaps Porzingis, but Al Horford and Luke Kornet for their tilt vs. the Orlando Magic at TD Garden Friday night likely did not expect a win for their favorite team.

But the Celtics had other plans for the long, athletic ball club that has given them trouble in the past, unlocking a sleeker, faster, and — obviously — smaller style of play previously unseen for any long stretch of the NBA’s 2023-24 season. Instead of getting thrashed when undermanned, Boston turned the tables to do the thrashing, beating up on the Magic to the tune of 128-111.

Let’s take a look at some of the best moments captured in images in the Celtics’ 24th game of the 2023-24 NBA season vs. the Magic.

Celtics’ bench steps up in impressive win over Orlando Magic

The Celtics imposed their will on both ends of the court, displaying a high level of physicality from the tip-off.

The Boston Celtics secured an impressive 128-111 victory over the Orlando Magic at TD Garden on Friday night in the first of a home-and-home series with the Magic. Key contributors included Jaylen Brown, whose aggressive play and electrifying dunks set the tone for the Celtics, and the bench, which stepped up significantly, putting up a total of 47 points.

The Celtics played with force, speed, and precision, capitalizing on mismatches and executing a fast-paced offense against a team that has given them fits in the past with their length and athleticism despite Boston being out three of their best big men. The Celtics imposed their will on both ends of the court, displaying a high level of physicality from the tip-off.

NBC Sports Boston’s Eddie House, Brian Scalabrine and Amina Smith took some time after the win for the Celtics to talk over how it went down on a recent episode of ‘Postgame Live”.

Celtics exact revenge on Magic, bench leads dominant 128-11 win

The Boston Celtics welcomed the Orlando Magic to town on Friday night and picked up a big-time 128-111 win.

The Boston Celtics picked up a 128-111 win over the Orlando Magic on Friday night, exorcising the demons that haunted them in previous matchups. Orlando had gotten the best of Boston earlier in the season, picking up a 17-point victory over the guys in green in the In-Season Tournament. But on Friday night, Boston completely turned the tide.

On a night when Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, Luke Kornet, and Dalan o Banton were all out, Lamar Stevens got the start, and the bench stepped up in a big way. All night long, the Celtics found little ways to get the best of their newfound rivals.

It was a seemingly well-rounded performance, though the box score may not explain that, and while the Magic had some solid performances of their own, they couldn’t handle Boston’s bench stepping up in the manner it did on Friday night.
