Quarterback Bryce Perkins, a former Virginia star who spent the last three seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. He spent the first two seasons on the bench and did not take a snap until last year when he played in five games, making one start. He is the brother of former Giants running back Paul Perkins.

So far, the only Seattle player who’s joining another squad is their utility backup offensive lineman Jamarco Jones, who intends to sign with the Tennessee Titans on a two-year deal.

Seahawks: 6 players who should get more playing time down the stretch

Here are six players who haven’t gotten much playing time in 2021 who deserve more of a look down the stretch.

The Seattle Seahawks are not going to make the playoffs this year. While this is a prideful group that will continue competing over the last three games of the season, it’s time to start thinking about the future. Part of that means evaluating the young talent already on the roster.

Here are six players who haven’t gotten much playing time in 2021 who deserve more of a look down the stretch.

Seahawks announce 4 roster moves ahead of Monday night game with Washington

The Seahawks announced a few roster moves today ahead of their Monday night matchup with Washington.

The Seattle Seahawks have announced a series of roster moves today ahead of their Monday night matchup with Washington. Two players have been added to the team’s active roster and two others have been placed on injured reserve to make room.

Here are the updates to know heading into Week 12.

Seahawks designate Russell Wilson, Dee Eskridge, Nigel Warrior for return to practice

The Seattle Seahawks have officially designated QB Russell Wilson, WR Dee Eskridge and CB Nigel Warrior to return to practice from the IR.

Ahead of the Week 10 game against the Green Bay Packers, the Seattle Seahawks have officially designated quarterback Russell Wilson, rookie wide receiver Dee Eskridge and cornerback Nigel Warrior to return to practice.

Wilson, who was just medically cleared to play on Monday, missed the last three games following surgery on the middle finger of his throwing hand, Eskridge has been sidelined recovering from a concussion he suffered in the season opener, and Warrior has been on the IR since he was claimed via Baltimore at the start of September.

All three players remain on the team’s injured reserve and will need to be activated back to the 53-man roster to play on game day. Corresponding roster moves will need to be made to make room for any of the three to return to the active roster.

Seattle Seahawks: Breaking down each member of the new-look cornerback group

Let’s take a moment to reset and examine each member of the remodeled cornerback room.

The Seattle Seahawks have made a flurry of changes to the cornerback position over the last couple weeks. A few familiar faces remain, but the team has almost totally upended their depth chart at a critical defensive spot with days to go before the 2021 season begins. Unless you have been obsessively following every move the franchise makes, it’s easy to have missed something in all the excitement.

Let’s take a moment to reset and examine each member of the remodeled cornerback room. Here is a look at the history, measurables and most essential numbers to know for each of them.

Seahawks announce jersey numbers for new players, change for D.J. Reed

Here are the jersey numbers for a few new faces, plus a change for defensive back D.J. Reed.

The Seattle Seahawks released their initial 53-man roster yesterday. It didn’t take long for that list to become pretty-much irrelevant. The team was busy today, claiming two players off waivers and making a change at quarterback.

Here are the jersey numbers for a few new faces, plus a change for defensive back D.J. Reed.

DB D.J. Reed: No. 9

With third-string quarterback Sean Mannion released to make room for Jake Luton, No. 9 was free and it’s been claimed by Reed (formerly No. 22). Luton’s number has not been released as of yet.

CB Sidney Jones: No. 23

The trade for Jaguars cornerback Sidney Jones is now official. He’s taking No. 23 – last worn by Damarious Randall, who did not survive the initial 53-man roster cuts.

CB Nigel Warrior: No. 39

One of two waiver claims today, Warrior played cornerback for the Ravens this preseason after playing safety in college. He’s taking No. 39.

OL Dakoda Shepley: No. 64

The other pickup was former 49ers offensive lineman Dakoda Shepley. He was listed as a tackle with San Francisco but Seattle considers him a center, offering some depth behind Kyle Fuller and Ethan Pocic.

Ravens lose two players to waiver claims, claim none

The Ravens lost two promising players to other teams on waivers while not being awarded anyone themselves

The Baltimore Ravens cut a huge amount of great talent on Tuesday, as they and the rest of the NFL were required to trim their rosters down to 53 players. While some of veterans released don’t have to go through waivers, a lot of young talent will, so teams are always risking losing those players with other teams having the chance to claim them.

There was always a possibility that Baltimore was going to lose one or two people to waivers despite probably wanting many of their own guys back on their practice squad. That was indeed the case, as they lost two very promising players in running back Nate McCrary and defensive back Nigel Warrior.

Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey and safety DeShon Elliott chimed in on the loss of Warrior, with Humphrey calling the second-year player “a baller”.

It’s disappointing to see both players depart Baltimore, as they showed great promise. McCrary took on a big workload during the preseason and impressed, while Warrior showed off his versatility and playmaking.

The Ravens made no waiver moves themselves, so they either didn’t put in a claim for anyone or they were too low in the pecking order and saw other teams scoop up players that they wanted before they had a chance to.

There are still plenty more moves to be made for Baltimore, both on their active roster and their practice squad. The next few days and weeks should clear up how both will look to start the 2021 season.

Seahawks claim former 49ers OT, former Ravens DB off waivers

With Shepley in the mix, Seattle now has seven offensive tackles on the roster.

The Seattle Seahawks added two more players to their roster, successfully acquiring former San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Dakoda Shepley and former Baltimore Ravens defensive back Nigel Warrior off waivers.

Shepley (6-foot-5, 290 pounds) played his college football in Canada at British Columbia. He appeared in one game last season with the Niners, playing five special teams snaps. With Shepley in the mix, Seattle now has seven offensive tackles on the roster.

Warrior (5-foot-11, 187 pounds) went to college at Tennessee, where he posted four interceptions and 60 tackles in his senior season (2019). After going undrafted he did not get on the field for the Ravens as a rookie.

The reported trade for Jacksonville Jaguars cornerback Sidney Jones (a former Washington star) is still unofficial, but once it goes through Seattle will have a full 53-man roster. So, they’ll have to cut at least two players to make room for Shepley and Warrior.
