True freshman wide receiver Nick Marsh continues to impress the Spartans coaching staff

True freshman wide receiver Nick Marsh continues to impress the Spartans coaching staff.

Marsh again received praise from the coaching staff on Thursday, this time from his position coach. Michigan State wide receivers coach Courtney Hawkins said Marsh “does everything I ask of him and more,” according to a tweet from Kenny Jordan of On3.

Marsh is a former four-star prospect in this past year’s recruiting class and was a big win on the recruiting trail for new head coach Jonathan Smith and his staff. It sounds like Marsh has lived up to his high recruiting ranking and could have an instant impact for the Spartans this season.

Michigan State opens the 2024 season on August 30 against Florida Atlantic. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.

See which two wide receivers got new head coach Jonathan Smith’s attention on day one of fall camp

A pair of young wide receivers have caught the attention of new head coach Jonathan Smith on day one of fall camp.

Smith met with the media following Tuesday’s opening practice of fall camp, and made note of two wide receivers in particular who stood out: Sophomore Jaron Glover and true freshman Nick Marsh. Smith noted both had really big summers and Glover in particular made some great catches today at practice.

Marsh enters this upcoming season as a highly-touted recruit that picked Michigan State over Penn State, Pitt and Kansas. He was ranked as the No. 22 wide receiver in the 2024 class and listed as a four-star prospect.

Glover is a redshirt sophomore that appeared in eight games this past season where he recorded 14 receptions for 261 yards.

Top five wide receivers signed to the Big Ten on early signing day

Who were the top five receivers to sign with Big Ten teams during the early signing period? #GoBucks

The initial hype of the early signing period has died down, but there was a ton of talent to explore and so much so we are breaking it down by position. We have already dived into the top five quarterbacks and running backs to sign with Big Ten teams and now we want to break down a position Ohio State always dominates in with wide receivers.

It is no secret that the Buckeyes once again locked in the best in the class at the position and the players we are going to talk about today all have an opportunity to play early and often. It should be no surprise that some of the East Coast newcomers snagged some of the top talent at this position as well.

The Big Ten snagged five of the top 20 wide receivers in this class and with the expansion taking place, this will likely be the case year in and year out. Now it is time to dive in and provide the top five wide receivers in the class to sign with Big Ten teams according to 247Sports.
