Which Notre Dame football 2024 signees will enroll early

There is a lot of 2024 talent that will be on campus early for the Irish

As the early signing period window has now closed, we know which Notre Dame 2024 signees will enroll early.

The first player on this list, quarterback CJ Carr, is already on campus and practicing with the team as they prepare for Oklahoma State in the Sun Bowl. The rest of his classmates will come into the program in January, giving them a head start on their collegiate careers.

Enrolling early used to be an uncommon aspect of college football, but it has become a much more common occurrence as more and more players want to get their careers started early. Find out which other Irish players will be in South Bend for spring football.

Tracking the wild recruitment of 2023 5-star QB Jaden Rashada

Jaden Rashada’s recruitment has been filled with drama since Day 1 and this latest turn deserves its own list to track the biggest moments in the process.

The drama doesn’t seem to end with [autotag]Jaden Rashada[/autotag], the five-star quarterback that sits atop Florida’s 2023 recruiting class. On Wednesday, Jan. 11, conflicting reports surfaced regarding Rashada’s enrollment at the university.

Of course, this isn’t Rashada’s first time on top of the national recruiting news bulletins. He famously, or perhaps infamously, chose Miami over Florida in June when he initially committed and then shocked the country by flipping to the Orange and Blue a month out from the early signing period.

That flip solidified Florida’s standing as a top recruiting program in the 2023 cycle, and getting Rashada to ink his national letter of intent on Dec. 21 was a big win for the program. It was supposed to signal the effective end of the cycle and relieve the team of any major recruiting drama over the next few months.

With that in mind, and Rashada’s status as the future of the Florida Gators in limbo, let’s take a look back at the wild rollercoaster of a timeline of this recruitment.

Florida’s 2023 recruiting class is loaded with early enrolees

With early signing day in the books, we now have a better idea of which members of Florida’s recruiting class of 2023 will early enroll.

Florida head coach [autotag]Billy Napier[/autotag] went over a lot in his post-early signing day press conference, but one of the major points discussed was just how many of the 20 signees will enroll early. According to Napier, the bulk of the class should arrive in the spring.

Of Florida’s 20 signees, Napier expects 18 to be in Gainesville for spring practices. Rather than listing each name that plans to early enroll, it’s easier to list those who won’t: wide receiver [autotag]Eugene Wilson III[/autotag] and defensive lineman [autotag]Gavin Hill[/autotag].

Adding 18 players to the roster a few months early could be huge for Billy Napier and Co. The Gators are replacing a ton of talent after many draft departures, dismissals and transfers. Getting the new Napier-recruited talent on campus early means more time to teach them the playbook, system, etc. More practice time means a better shot at finding early snaps, too.

“The other thing that’s going to help is you’re going to have 20 players that start in January,” said Napier during his early signing day presser, “and I think that translates to more reps and more teaching and more opportunity to get orientated to the university and just life in general in college. But I do think that there will be a number of this group (that compete for early playing time). They’re going to have to earn it.”

It can’t be overstated how important it was for Florida to bring in a group of recruits that were willing to enroll early, and Napier did an exceptional job making sure everything went according to plan.

In case you’re looking for a full list of early enrollees, here’s a list of the players that should be coming to Gainesville in the spring:

  • 5-star quarterback [autotag]Jaden Rashada[/autotag]
  • 4-star running back [autotag]Treyaun Webb[/autotag]
  • 4-star receiver [autotag]Aidan Mizell[/autotag]

  • 4-star offensive lineman [autotag]Roderick Kearney[/autotag]
  • 3-star offensive lineman [autotag]Knijeah Harris[/autotag]

  • 4-star defensive lineman [autotag]Kelby Collins[/autotag]
  • 4-star defensive lineman [autotag]Kamran James[/autotag]

LSU’s 2023 class features 15 early enrollees

LSU will welcome a significant portion of its class early.

Speaking on early signing day, [autotag]Brian Kelly[/autotag] said LSU’s 2023 class will feature 15 early enrollees. However, the group won’t participate in bowl prep.

It’s significantly more than last year, when LSU welcomed just five prospects early. This years early enrollees include but are not limited to WR [autotag]Jalen Brown[/autotag], TE [autotag]Mac Markway[/autotag], and DE [autotag]DaShawn Womack[/autotag].

Getting Womack on campus early is huge as LSU will need time to develop pass rushers following the departure of [autotag]B.J. Ojulari[/autotag] and [autotag]Ali Gaye[/autotag].

The early enrollees won’t be the only newcomers on campus come spring ball. Kelly said he expects LSU to sign 8-10 transfers as well. Kelly mentioned that the contributions of LSU’s true freshmen in 2022 gave him confidence in playing more true freshmen going forward.

LSU is set to return a lot in 2023. Getting to campus early will give these younger guys a chance to compete with that veteran talent. LSU needed to rely on true freshmen this fall, but Kelly and his staff have done a good job building this roster to where that won’t be necessary in 2023.

Texas DL signee Jaray Bledsoe will enroll early for spring semester

Bledsoe will join a strong group of newcomers joining the Texas program.

Big news for the Longhorns as Gerry Hamilton of Inside Texas reports four-star defensive lineman Jaray Bledsoe has been admitted into the university and will enroll early at Texas.

Bledsoe will join offseason workouts with the team as soon as possible.

The Marlin, Texas product will join an impressive list of newcomers enrolling for the spring semester. Getting to campus early is huge for the development of younger players, especially if they want to contribute early on.

247Sports rated Bledsoe as the No. 25 player in Texas and just outside of the top 150 nationally. He chose Texas over the likes of Alabama, Texas A&M and Baylor.

The opportunity for early playing time will be available for Bledsoe or any of the other freshmen in Texas’ defensive line class. The Horns failed to get consistent pressure from its defensive front in 2021.

WATCH: Ohio State transfer Ryan Watts arrives to campus

Watts is expected to compete for a starting spot from day one.

Many of the new faces Steve Sarkisian has been excited to get to campus arrived on Wednesday ahead of the spring semester.

Ohio State transfer Ryan Watts is a guy who can make an impact in the Texas secondary from day one. It is safe to say he is excited to be in Austin with his new team.

Landing Watts after he entered the portal was a big win for Texas’ staff. The former four-star recruit will add atheism and size to the Texas defensive backfield. Watts played sparingly at Ohio State this past season totaling six tackles and two interceptions.

Texas lost starting corner, Josh Thompson, to the NFL draft after the season. Watts is an experienced guy who will be looked upon to help fill that role.

Here is a list of all the early enrollees joining the team this week.
