2020 NFC West Division Predictions: Best bets for who will win and exact standings

Looking at the NFL betting odds to win the NFC West Division in 2020 and predicting the exact order of the standings.

The San Francisco 49ers won the NFC West Division in 2019 but will they be able to repeat? Below, we look at the BetMGM betting odds for the NFC West Division in 2020 and make our best bets for who’ll win the division title and predict the exact order of the division standings.

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Monday, May 25 at 11:25 a.m. ET.

2020 NFC West Division bets: Who will win?

Here are the odds to win the division.

  • 49ers +105
  • Seattle Seahawks +240
  • Los Angeles Rams +350
  • Arizona Cardinals +1000

The 49ers played in the Super Bowl last season and should still be considered the favorite to win the division. The Seahawks look like they are getting worse defensively, while the Cardinals look much improved, but not yet on the 49ers’ level. With the addition of first-round picks WR Brandon Aiyuk and DL Javon Kinlaw, San Francisco still should win the West, although it will probably be a more competitive division. Take the 49ERS (+105).

2020 NFC West Division bets: Who will finish second?

Here are the odds.

  • 49ers +180
  • Seahawks +195
  • Rams +250
  • Cardinals +600

As long as the Seahawks have Russell Wilson at quarterback, despite the fact the defense is not as good as it was when they were going to Super Bowls, they are always a good bet to be a playoff team. Since we have the 49ers winning the division, the best bet for second place are the SEAHAWKS (+195).

2020 NFC West Division bets: Who will finish third?

Here are the odds for third place.

  • Rams +175
  • Seahawks +210
  • Cardinals +325
  • 49ers +380

Here is where you can make some money. The Rams are favored for third place, but they are a mess. They lost key offensive and defensive players (RB Todd Gurley, WR Brandin Cooks, DB Eric Weddle and LBs Cory Littleton, Dante Fowler and Clay Matthews). The Cardinals were three defensive stops from finishing 8-8 last season and had arguably the worst defense in the league. They added three new defensive starters through free agency and drafted four other defensive players, including No. 8 overall pick Isaiah Simmons (Clemson). So, Arizona’s defense should be much improved. The offense now has WR DeAndre Hopkins, while second-year QB Kyler Murray is expected to take a leap in his development. The Cardinals will make the leap and pass the Rams. They might not make the playoffs, but the best bet for third place is to take the CARDINALS (+325).

2020 NFC West Division bets: Who will finish fourth?

Here are the odds.

  • Cardinals -182
  • Rams +300
  • Seahawks +500
  • 49ers +1400

The Rams are in transition. They are not in a good cap situation. QB Jared Goff regressed, and they lost so many starters. With the expected improvement of the Cardinals, the Rams get passed up. Take the RAMS (+300) and make some money off the third- and fourth-place teams.

2020 NFC West Division bets: Exact order of standings

The exact order combo of 49ers-Seahawks-Cardinals-Rams will win you big money at +1000. That is your best bet.

2020 NFC South Division Predictions: Best bets for who will win and exact standings

Looking at the NFL betting odds to win the NFC South Division in 2020 and predicting the exact order of the standings.

The New Orleans Saints won the NFC South Division in 2019 but will they be able to repeat? Below, we look at the BetMGM betting odds for the NFC South Division in 2020 and make our best bets for who’ll win the division title and predict the exact order of the division standings.

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Sunday, May 24 at 11 a.m. ET.

2020 NFC South Division bets: Who will win?

Here are the odds for first place.

  • New Orleans Saints +100
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +120
  • Atlanta Falcons +900
  • Carolina Panthers +1800

This year, the division will likely be a two-team race between the Saints and the Buccaneers. New Orleans added a top receiver in free agency in Emmanuel Sanders for QB Drew Brees. The Bucs added QB Tom Brady and TE Rob Gronkowski. Because Brady will be learning a new offense under head coach Bruce Arians and the Saints have continuity and new talent, give them the edge to win the division. Take the SAINTS (+100) at even money.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Saints to win the NFC South returns a profit of $10.

Place your legal NFL bets in CO, IN, NJ, NV and WV at BetMGM. Bet now!

2020 NFC South Division bets: Who will finish second?

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +125
  • New Orleans Saints +135
  • Atlanta Falcons +525
  • Carolina Panthers +1000

With the Saints already picked to win the division, you have to look at the Bucs as the best pick for a runner-up finish. They might come out of the gates slowly, but they have the offensive weapons for Brady and a defense that played much better down the stretch in 2019. The Falcons might be better than their 7-9 record of last year, but they likely won’t be better than the Bucs. Take the BUCCANEERS (+125).

2020 NFC South Division bets: Who will finish third?

  • Atlanta Falcons -105
  • Carolina Panthers +260
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +450
  • New Orleans Saints +525

Looking at the Falcons and Panthers, there is clearly a talent gap. The Panthers have a new quarterback (Teddy Bridgewater) and a new coach (Matt Rhule). The Falcons are still very talented. It will come down to their defense, as offensively, they are fine. Carolina might still be one of the worst teams in the NFL, so the easy money here is to take the FALCONS (-105).

2020 NFC South Division bets: Who will finish fourth?

  • Carolina Panthers -250
  • Atlanta Falcons +180
  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3000
  • New Orleans Saints +3500

The Panthers are rebuilding. They added Bridgewater and WR Robby Anderson but there is little chance they pass any of the other three teams in the division. The best bet is to take the PANTHERS (-250).

2020 NFC South Division bets: Exact order of standings

The exact order of the Saints-Bucs-Falcons-Panthers wins you the least amount of money at +240 as the favorite for the exact order. It is, though, the most likely outcome and the best bet. Consider it easy money and more profitable than any of the above wagers.

2020 NFC North Division Predictions: Best bets for who will win and exact standings

Looking at the NFL betting odds to win the NFC North Division in 2020 and predicting the exact order of the standings.

The Green Bay Packers rolled to a 13-win season en route to an NFC North Division crown in 2019, but will they be able to repeat? Below, we look at the BetMGM betting odds for the NFC North Division in 2020 and make our best bets for who’ll win the division title and predict the exact order of the division standings.

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Saturday, May 23 at 12:30 a.m. ET.

2020 NFC North Division bets: Who will win?

Odds to win the division: Packers +160 | Minnesota Vikings +160 | Chicago Bears +650 | Detroit Lions +850

The Vikings have a couple of tough games to negotiate early in the season, particularly road games at the Houston Texans and Seattle Seahawks. Minnesota is actually the only NFC North team to play three divisional games in three successive weekends – Week 8 through 10 – and that’s never an easy task. But Minnesota’s home schedule sets up nicely. After hosting the Packers in Week 1 and the Tennessee Titans in Week 3, five of the remaining six U.S. Bank Stadium games are against teams not expected to make the playoffs: Week 6 vs. the Atlanta Falcons, Week 8 vs. the Lions, Week 11 vs. the Dallas Cowboys, Week 12 vs. the Carolina Panthers, Week 13 vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars and Week 15 vs. the Bears. In fact, after Tennessee visits Sept. 27, Minnesota does not face another 2019 playoff team at home. Of course, the NFL landscape and win-loss records change dramatically, but right now Minnesota’s SOS (strength of schedule) doesn’t look terribly daunting. The VIKINGS (+160) are the play here – every $10 wagered profits $16 if they win the North.

Place your legal NFL bets in CO, IN, NV, NJ and WV at BetMGM. Bet now!

2020 NFC North Division bets: Who will finish second?

Odds: Packers +175 | Vikings +175 | Bears +300 | Lions +550

The Packers won the division last season at 13-3, but were they really THAT good, or was the schedule just overly favorable? We’ll find out this season, as they have a murderer’s row to start. Five of their first eight games are against 2019 playoff teams, plus there’s a game vs. Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Trips to the New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers and Tampa are brutal, as well as an opener in the Twin Cities, which will get them off on the wrong foot. The Packers could be 2-6 through the first eight games, but don’t eat and drink yourselves into a beer and cheese stupor, Pack fans. I believe this team has the talent and stick-to-it-iveness to rattle off eight straight wins in the final eight games to get themselves back into the playoffs. After it’s wheels up from San Francisco Thursday, Nov. 5, the rest of the sked is a breeze. Home wins over Jacksonville, Chicago, the Philadelphia Eagles and Carolina will have Aaron Rodgers & Co. thinking playoffs again. The key to their season might actually be a Week 16 home game against Tennessee Dec. 27, which could make or break the season. Play the PACKERS (+175) here.

2020 NFC North Division bets: Who will finish third?

Odds: Bears +175 | Vikings +280 | Lions +300 | Packers +310

The Bears added QB Nick Foles as the Monsters of the Midway hope Saint Nick is the answer to their prayers. Spoiler alert – he’s not. The Bears still needs a lot of work before they’re going to overtake the Packers and Vikings, and this number of +175 isn’t very friendly for someone to take a chance …  even with a small-unit wager. Just no value here. The Bears “should” be able to cobble together a 3-3 record through the first six games, and the back end of the schedule sets up favorably for a potential 4-1 finish. That’s the good news. The bad news is that the middle of the schedule features a trip to meet the Los Angeles Rams, a home date with the Saints, a roadie against the Titans, a Monday home date with the Vikings, a road trip to the Packers (after the bye, at least) and a home game against the Lions. Chicago could lose all of those games and be in freefall. If the Bears surprise in one or two of them, a winning season is within reach. I’m still going to AVOID betting on a third-place prop.

2020 NFC North Division bets: Who will finish fourth?

Odds: Lions -159 | Bears +225 | Vikings +800 | Packers +1000

Poor Lions. The prognosticators are picking them to be the caboose in the NFC North, and who am I to argue with them? The front and back end of the schedule is not set up well for the boys in Honolulu Blue and Silver, although there will be some excitement in the middle. The road schedule isn’t too terribly demanding, but these are the Lions, and there are never any slam-dunk wins. QB Matthew Stafford is coming off a serious back injury, too, so that’s a major concern for the fortunes of Detroit’s season. He was playing at an MVP-caliber level before going down in 2019, though. The home schedule sees New Orleans and Tampa Bay coming in, as well as division toughies Green Bay and Minnesota, so Detroit will be lucky to get to .500 at home. Even with the juice, betting the LIONS (-159) to finish last is worth a small wager – every $1.59 wagered would profit $1 if they do so.

2020 NFC North Division bets: Exact order of standings

The exact order of the standings should be Vikings (12-4), Packers (10-6), Bears (7-9) and Lions (6-10). As such, backing a VIKINGS-PACKERS 1-2 FINISH (+325) is very, very attractive.

You can also bet PACKERS/VIKINGS TO FINISH TOP 2 IN ANY ORDER (+110), and that should be a slam-dunk play. If you like what you see above, the exact order of finish (1st Vikings, 2nd Packers, 3rd Bears and 4th Lions) pays +500.

2020 NFC East Division Predictions: Best bets for who will win and exact standings

Looking at the NFL betting odds to win the NFC East Division in 2020 and predicting the exact order of the standings.

Despite a 9-7 record, the Philadelphia Eagles won the NFC East Division in 2019. The question is: Will they be able to repeat? Below, we look at the BetMGM betting odds for the NFC East Division in 2020 and make our best bets for who’ll win the division title and predict the exact order of the division standings.

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Friday, May 22 at 8:30 p.m. ET.

2020 NFC East Division bets: Who will win?

Odds to win the division: Dallas Cowboys +110 | Eagles +125 | New York Giants +800 | Washington Redskins +1100

The Cowboys are the favorite to win the division, and might end up as the only team with a winning record, similar to last season’s champ, the Eagles. Dallas has a rather favorable setup with the schedule in the early portion of the season, facing the likes of the Atlanta Falcons, Cleveland Browns and Giants at home. Look for the Cowboys to go 5-2 through their first seven games and then hang on when the schedule – and the weather – gets a little more brutal in the second half. DALLAS (+110) is the pick here.

Place your legal NFL bets in CO, IN, NV, NJ and WV at BetMGM. Bet now!

2020 NFC East Division bets: Who will finish second?

Odds: Cowboys +140 | Eagles +140 | Giants +500 | Redskins +700

Fans of Philadelphia aren’t going to like to hear this, but the 2020 Eagles will be a losing football team. The fans will point to last season’s overachievers, the emergence of RB Miles Sanders and a healthy QB in Carson Wentz (and now backup QB Jalen Hurts), and say my forecast is crazy. I predict a 6-10 or 7-9 record for the Eagles, giving them the benefit of the doubt with an extra win to get them to seven victories and second place. The schedule is BRUTAL, folks. Assuming a sweep of the ‘Skins and splits with the ‘Boys and Giants, 4-2 inside the division puts Philly in great shape, right? Wrong! Road games at the Arizona Cardinals, Green Bay Packers, Pittsburgh Steelers and San Francisco 49ers are rough enough. Add in home games against the Baltimore Ravens, New Orleans Saints and Seattle Seahawks? Ouch! If fans are allowed back in the seats, they might be throwing A LOT of things onto Lincoln Financial Field. PHILLY (+140) is the play for division runner-up.

2020 NFC East Division bets: Who will finish third?

Odds: Giants +145 | Redskins +215 | Cowboys +400 | Eagles +400

The Giants figure to get out to a little bit of a rough start based upon their schedule. The first five games are a gauntlet, pitting them against the Steelers Monday night in Week 1, followed by a road game at the Chicago Bears, a home game vs. the defending NFC champ 49ers, a cross-country trip to face the Los Angeles Rams and a sojourn to AT&T Stadium to battle the rival Cowboys. Not good. It will be another slow start for the Giants. Things lighten up with a bevy of divisional games midseason, but what looked like a winnable Monday nighter against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Nov. 2 is likely a loss now that QB Tom Brady and TE Rob Gronkowski headed to Florida’s West Coast. Three late-season roadies to meet the Cincinnati Bengals, Seahawks and Ravens could all potentially be losses, too. Back NEW YORK (+145) to take third.

2020 NFC East Division bets: Who will finish fourth?

Odds: Redskins -145 | Giants +130 | Cowboys +2000 | Eagles +2000

The Redskins have the longest odds to win the East for good reason. They’re a little bit of a mess, especially in the skill positions. EDGE rusher Chase Young, the 2020 NFL Draft’s overall No. 2 pick, is going to be a great addition to hound opposing QBs, but he still needs help. QB Dwayne Haskins is still a work in progress. The run game should be the strongest part of this team. Like the G-Men, the early part of the sked for the ‘Skins is tough. The Eagles and Ravens at home, sandwiching road games at the Cardinals and Browns. Washington might be able to scratch out one win (Cleveland, I’m looking at you!). The Redskins could start out with a donut through four (0 for 4). Other road games at the Detroit Lions, Steelers and 49ers, along with the usual NFC East suspects on the road, likely means the Redskins will be picking early again on Draft Day 2021. AVOID a last-place wager, as it’s not worth the -145 juice on Washington.

2020 NFC East Division bets: Exact order of standings

The exact order of the standings should be Cowboys (9-7), Eagles (7-9), Giants/Redskins (5-11). As such, backing the COWBOYS-EAGLES 1-2 FINISH (+190) in the “Top 2 Exact Order” prop pays you nearly double – profiting $19 on a $10 wager. A repeat of last season’s finish of Eagles first/Cowboys second (+190) also returns the same.

2020 AFC West Division Predictions: Best bets for who will win and exact standings

Looking at the NFL betting odds to win the AFC West Division in 2020 and predicting the exact order of the standings.

The Kansas City Chiefs won the AFC West Division in 2019 en route to a Super Bowl LIV title, but will they be able to repeat? Below, we look at the BetMGM betting odds for the AFC West Division in 2020 and make our best bets for who’ll win the division title and predict the exact order of the division standings.

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Monday, May 18 at 10 a.m. ET.

2020 AFC West Division bets: Who will win?

The Chiefs are huge -455 favorites to retain the AFC West crown for a fifth straight season. They haven’t finished worse than second since a 2-14 2012 campaign under then-head coach Romeo Crennel.

We’ll avoid the chalk of a $10 bet returning a profit of just $2.20 and back the DENVER BRONCOS (+900) for a 9-1 return on our investment. QB Drew Lock went 4-1 as the starter after replacing veteran Joe Flacco as a rookie in 2019.

His supporting cast has been improved with the free-agent addition of RB Melvin Gordon and first-round draft selection of WR Jerry Jeudy. The defense, fronted by LBs Bradley Chubb and Von Miller remains one of the NFL’s more formidable units.

Place your legal NFL bets in CO, IN, NJ and WV at BetMGM. Bet now!

2020 AFC West Division bets: Who will finish second?

As noted above, the Chiefs are highly unlikely to finish any worse than second in the division. There’s great value at +320 odds for them to finish in exactly that position in 2020. A $10 bet will return a profit of $32.

2020 AFC West Division bets: Who will finish third?

Betting on a Super Bowl hangover to hit the Chiefs in 2020 and result in a third-place finish carries odds of +1800, but it would require Mahomes to miss a considerable amount of time.

The safer play is to back the LAS VEGAS RAIDERS (+200) to repeat their third-place result from 2019. Head coach Jon Gruden enters his third season with the team and they improved by three wins from 2018 to 2019.

2020 AFC West Division bets: Who will finish fourth?

The LOS ANGELES CHARGERS (+235) enter the 2020 season with placeholder QB Tyrod Taylor set to mentor No. 6 pick Justin Herbert. While Taylor spent the 2019 campaign behind QB Philip Rivers and enjoyed a successful three-year run as the starter for the Buffalo Bills from 2015-2017, he has started just three games over the last two years.

Only the Chiefs (+17500) carry higher odds for a last-place finish.

2020 AFC West Division bets: Exact order of standings

Following the above picks, predicting a finish of Broncos-Chiefs-Raiders-Chargers carries +2500 odds for a $250 profit on a $10 bet. I like this as the primary play while placing a smaller wager on a Chiefs-Broncos-Raiders-Chargers finish at +625 as a hedge.

2020 AFC South Division Predictions: Best bets for who will win and exact standings

Looking at the NFL betting odds to win the AFC South Division in 2020 and predicting the exact order of the standings.

The Houston Texans won the AFC South Division in 2019, but will they be able to repeat? Below, we look at the BetMGM betting odds for the AFC South Division in 2020 and make our best bets for who’ll win the division title and predict the exact order of the division standings.

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Wednesday, May 20 at 1:20 a.m. ET.

2020 AFC South Division bets: Who will win?

Here are the odds for first place in the division.

  • Indianapolis Colts +130
  • Tennessee Titans +160
  • Texans +280
  • Jacksonville Jaguars +1400

The Texans took a step back by trading WR DeAndre Hopkins to the Arizona Cardinals. Houston did not have a first-round draft pick, but added WR Brandin Cooks in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams. However, the Colts made an upgrade at the most important position, signing QB Philip Rivers. They already have a talented defense, solid receivers and now have a one-two punch at running back with Marlon Mack and Jonathan Taylor, a 2020 second-round pick out of Wisconsin. The Titans re-signed QB Ryan Tannehill after he helped them catch fire late in last season. However, Rivers makes the Colts a complete team. Take the COLTS (+130) to win the division.

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Colts to win the AFC South will return a profit of $13 if they do so.

Place your legal NFL bets in CO, IN, NJ and WV at BetMGM. Bet now!

2020 AFC South Division bets: Who will finish second?

Here are the odds for second place.

  • Colts +180
  • Titans +180
  • Texans +220
  • Jaguars +900

The division should be competitive between three teams. For second place, do you take the Titans and believe in Tannehill or trust Deshaun Watson to carry the Texans? The feeling is that Texans coach Bill O’Brien is trending downward with his roster decisions. Tennessee is trending up. Take the TITANS (+180) for an $18 profit on a $10 wager.

2020 AFC South Division bets: Who will finish third?

Here are the odds for third place.

  • Texans +155
  • Titans +250
  • Colts +255
  • Jaguars +500

With the Colts and Titans already pegged to finish in the top two, this decision is easy. The Jags look like they will be perhaps the worst team in the league. Take the TEXANS (+155) for a $15.50 profit on a $10 bet.

2020 AFC South Division bets: Who will finish fourth?

Here are the odds.

  • Jaguars -385
  • Texans +525
  • Titans +1000
  • Colts +1100

This decision is a lock. It won’t profit much, but the best bet is the JAGUARS (-385) where a $10 bet would profit $2.60.

2020 AFC South Division bets: Exact order of standings

With the exact standings finishing Colts-Titans-Texans-Jaguars, the prop is +400 – where a winning bet pays 4 to 1.

2020 AFC North Division Predictions: Best bets for who will win and exact standings

Looking at the NFL betting odds to win the AFC North Division in 2020 and predicting the exact order of the standings.

The Baltimore Ravens won the AFC North Division in 2019 but will they be able to repeat? Below, we look at the BetMGM betting odds for the AFC North Division in 2020 and make our best bets for who’ll win the division title and predict the exact order of the division standings.

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Tuesday, May 19 at 3:25 a.m. ET.

2020 AFC North Division bets: Who will win?

Here are the odds for first place in the division:

  • Baltimore Ravens -200
  • Pittsburgh Steelers +320
  • Cleveland Browns +500
  • Cincinnati Bengals +2500

After winning the division with a 14-2 record last season in which QB Lamar Jackson broke out and was a unanimous MVP, the Ravens are still the favorites. They improved even more on defense this offseason. This is an easy call. Take the RAVENS (-200).

New to sports betting? A $10 bet the Ravens to win the AFC North will return a profit of $5 if they do so.

Place your legal NFL bets in CO, IN, NJ and WV at BetMGM. Bet now!

2020 AFC North Division bets: Who will finish second?

Here are the odds for second place:

  • Steelers +140
  • Ravens +205
  • Browns +225
  • Bengals +1200

With the return of QB Ben Roethlisberger, the Steelers should be in a position to make it back to the postseason after narrowly missing in 2019. The defense is still solid and they will have better play at quarterback. The Browns are tough to trust with a shortened offseason and a new head coach. Take the STEELERS (+140).

A $10 bet would profit $14 here.

2020 AFC North Division bets: Who will finish third?

Here are the odds for third place.

  • Browns +105
  • Steelers +170
  • Bengals +525
  • Ravens +800

The Bengals still can’t be trusted to be anything more than last in the division. That leaves the Browns, who were 6-10 last season. They added protection for QB Baker Mayfield, so they should be at least as good as last year. Take the BROWNS (+105).

A $10 bet profits $10.50 if the Browns finish third.

2020 AFC North Division bets: Who will finish fourth?

Here are the odds for last place in the division.

  • Bengals -556
  • Browns +500
  • Steelers +900
  • Ravens +8000

The Bengals will have a rookie quarterback. While they were the worst team in the league last year, they improved this offseason, but in a division that seems to be easy to predict. This bet earns you virtually nothing, but the only bet you should make are the BENGALS (-556).

A $10 bet only profits $1.80.

2020 AFC North Division bets: Exact order of standings

For predicting the exact outcome of the division, this isn’t a big value, but it is pretty safe. Take the combo of the Ravens-Steelers-Browns-Bengals at +190 and expect to win at the end of the season. A $10 bet would profit $19.

2020 AFC East Division Predictions: Best bets for who will win and exact standings

Looking at the NFL betting odds to win the AFC East Division in 2020 and predicting the exact order of the standings.

The New England Patriots won the AFC East Division in 2019 but will they be able to repeat? Below, we look at the BetMGM betting odds for the AFC East Division in 2020 and make our best bets for who’ll win the division title and predict the exact order of the division standings.

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Odds last updated Monday, May 18 at 2:30 p.m. ET.

2020 AFC East Division bets: Who will win?

Here are the odds for each team to win the division:

  • New England Patriots +115
  • Buffalo Bills +135
  • New York Jets +700
  • Miami Dolphins +800

The Patriots still being the favorites is very surprising, considering they lost QB Tom Brady, DT Danny Shelton, LB Kyle Van Noy and LB Jamie Collins. It appears Jarrett Stidham will start at quarterback.

The Bills won 10 games last year and gave QB Josh Allen more weapons, including WR Stefon Diggs.

The Dolphins and Jets just aren’t there yet. The best bet is to take the BILLS (+135).

New to sports betting? A $10 bet on the Bills to win the AFC East will return a profit of $13.50.

2020 AFC East Division bets: Who will finish second?

  • Buffalo Bills +145
  • New England Patriots +150
  • New York Jets +450
  • Miami Dolphins +650

This is where things get interesting. Having picked the Bills to win the division, the Pats seem like the logical choice, but between losing three key pieces to one of the best defenses in football and losing Brady, it is uncertain how good they will be. The Dolphins have the next best quarterback in the division in Ryan Fitzpatrick, and they spent a lot of money in free agency on defense. Their defense should be better and the offensive line is better as well.

Taking the Patriots at +150 might look like the best bet, but here I like the Dolphins to be surprisingly okay and give a payout. I’m taking the DOLPHINS (+650).

2020 AFC East Division bets: Who will finish third?

  • New York Jets +155
  • Miami Dolphins +225
  • Buffalo Bills +350
  • New England Patriots +400

I’ve already got the Bills and Dolphins finishing 1-2 in the division. Now, it is about the Jets and Pats. The Jets are the favorites for third place and were sneaky okay a year ago. However, if there is anything we can take from head coach Adam Gase‘s time in Miami, he suppresses talent.

Too many players have left the Dolphins and flourished. If you have to pick between the Pats and the Jets to be the better team, even with Stidham at quarterback, you trust the coaching of Bill Belichick over Gase. The winning bet here is to take the PATRIOTS (+400). That makes two big potential payouts for these picks.

2020 AFC East Division bets: Who will finish fourth?

  • Miami Dolphins -145
  • New York Jets +140
  • Buffalo Bills +1400
  • New England Patriots +1800

The Pats are a team to watch at +1800 because they could be in a tank season with salary cap problems and the potential to select Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 NFL Draft. Since I already have the Pats finishing third, the JETS (+140) are the best to finish last.

2020 AFC East Division bets: Exact order of standings

Based on the best bets for each place in the division, you can go all in and a big payout for a Bills-Dolphins-Pats-Jets finish at +1800. Anything that puts the Bills at the top is the best start to the combination.

2020 NFL Futures Betting: AFC North Division Winner

Analyzing the 2020 NFL futures odds for which team will win the AFC North Division, with sports betting picks, tips and best bets.

It’s never too early to get into NFL Futures betting, even if we are just completing the scouting combine in Indianapolis and the draft and free agency hasn’t yet occurred. In fact, sometimes you can get a good price on a team before all hell breaks loose.

Case in point – the 2019 Cleveland Browns. They were near the bottom of the pack last spring before landing WR Odell Beckham Jr. from the New York Giants. After several other moves, which appeared to be shrewd, they went from long shots to one of the favorites two win the Super Bowl, seeing their number shrink exponentially. We see now that it was foolish to take them early or late, as they wet the bed and didn’t even come close to making the postseason.

Below, we look at the futures odds to win the AFC North.

2020 AFC North odds: Baltimore Ravens (-250)

The Ravens are one of just four division favorites with minus-odds, meaning you need to lay more than your potential return. That’s how heavily favored they are. In fact, they’re tied with the New Orleans Saints (NFC South) with the third-best chance of winning their respective division based on the odds – behind only the New England Patriots (AFC East) and defending champ Kansas City Chiefs (AFC West).

QB Lamar Jackson took the NFL by storm last season, and there is no reason to believe he will be slowing down anytime soon. Plus, the Ravens defense is nasty. Couple that with the fact the Pittsburgh Steelers are still not hitting on all cylinders, the Browns are still the Browns, and the Cincinnati Bengals are picking No. 1 overall in the draft, and this should be a slam-dunk play.

2020 AFC North odds: Pittsburgh Steelers (+340)

The Steelers are expected to have QB Ben Roethlisberger back under center after losing him to a season-ending elbow injury in Week 1 last season. While he is getting a bit long in the tooth, he is much better for the team’s outlook than if Mason Rudolph or Devlin Hodges were taking snaps. They just missed out on a playoff spot with that duo at the helm. If the Steelers can grab a wideout playmaker in free agency or the draft, and plug a few holes, they could easily challenge the Ravens for the top spot. Coach Mike Tomlin seems to always have his team right there challenging in the end.

2020 AFC North odds: Cleveland Browns (+650)

The Browns still have an impressive offensive core with QB Baker Mayfield, RBs Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, Beckham and WR Jarvis Landry, etc. Plus, their defense is sick, too, returning DE Myles Garrett from his helmet-swinging suspension. They’re worth a small-unit wager, especially if they can add some beef to the O-line so Mayfield isn’t running for his life every down. The Browns will face a semi-favorable schedule due to their tumble down the standings to third place in 2019. Will they win the division? Probably not. But stranger things have happened, and their skill position players rival anyone in the NFL.

2020 AFC North odds: Cincinnati Bengals (+2000)

The Bengals are going to improve their personnel with the No. 1 overall pick, but they’re still much further away from the competition even with possibly adding a Heisman Trophy winning quarterback. In fact, QB isn’t really their biggest issue, as Andy Dalton was more than serviceable for many years. He is expected to be dealt, perhaps to the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts or New England Patriots. They might get more draft picks in return from someone, helping them improve even quicker. However, they have so many holes to fill that it’s not worth taking a flier on them, even at this rate, which is sure to decrease slightly after some additions.

2020 NFL Futures Betting: AFC South Division Winner

Analyzing the 2020 NFL futures odds for which team will win the AFC South Division, with sports betting picks, tips and best bets.

Only dweebs insist “it’s too early to bet on the NFL.” If that were true, BetMGM wouldn’t have done us a solid and listed NFL division futures. The division we are tackling today is the AFC South, which has been dominated in recent years by the Houston Texans — to the tune of four division crowns in the last five seasons.

Below, we look at the futures odds to win the AFC South.

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 12:30 p.m. ET.

2020 AFC South odds: Houston Texans (+170)

Is Bill O’Brien underrated? The Houston Texans are back-to-back reigning AFC South champions and have won the division four out of the six seasons he’s been the head coach. Even when O’Brien’s teams underperform they still find ways to win; the Texans finished last season with a 10-6 record but a minus-7 point differential. The offensive line, linebackers and the secondary are the most obvious areas of need for the Texans. Regardless of whether they adequately address these needs, we should expect O’Brien’s Texans to contend for the playoffs.

2020 AFC South odds: Indianapolis Colts (+200)

The good news about this offseason is that it cannot go worse than the last offseason when now-former quarterback Andrew Luck abruptly retired two weeks before the start of the regular season. Backup QB Jacoby Brissett was promoted to the first string and the Colts crested at 5-2 before losing seven of their final nine games to go Under their 7.5 regular-season O/U win total with a 7-9 record.

Brissett’s future is in question and there’s a growing belief that the Colts will use free agency or the draft to upgrade at quarterback. They’ve been linked to Tom Brady, Philip Rivers and Teddy Bridgewater, but have also been projected to draft Jordan Love, Justin Herbert or even Tua Tagovailoa. But at this moment Brissett is at the helm and a limited supporting cast featuring Pro Bowl offensive guard Quenton Nelson, a depreciating WR T.Y. Hilton, and mediocre (yet somehow Pro Bowl) TE Jack Doyle. If the roster doesn’t dramatically improve this offseason, it could be another long, playoff-less season for the Colts.

2020 AFC South odds: Tennessee Titans (+200)

The Tennessee Titans (9-7) were the last remaining AFC South team in 2019, making it all the way to the AFC title game where they lost to the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs 35-24. Tennessee surged to a playoff appearance when QB Ryan Tannehill took over the starting job. Tannehill had a 7-3 record as a starter and was ranked first in yards per attempt and quarterback rating, and third in completion percentage. Still, the Titans are headed into the 2020 offseason facing questions because Tannehill and fellow Pro Bowl RB Derrick Henry are free agents. Henry was the straw that stirred the Titans drink and his dominance was the key to the Titans’ stunning playoff upsets of the New England Patriots and Baltimore Ravens. It’s assumed the Titans will re-sign both Tannehill and Henry, but certainly not guaranteed. There’s even talk that head coach Mike Vrabel could lure free-agent QB Tom Brady down to Tennessee.

2020 AFC South odds: Jacksonville Jaguars (+1000)

The third full season of the Doug Marrone tenure in Jacksonville was an unmitigated disaster. Pro Bowl cornerback Jalen Ramsey became disgruntled and was traded to the Los Angeles Rams, V.P. of Football Operations Tom Coughlin was fired, and the Jaguars missed the playoffs for the second straight season—finishing with a 6-10 record—after winning the AFC South in 2017. Nick Foles signed a four-year, $88 million contract in the 2019 offseason, got injured in Week 1 against the Kansas City Chiefs, and saw the Jaguars turn to rookie QB Gardner Minshew — who finished the season as the starter even as Foles came back for limited duty. All signs point to Minshew being the starter next season but, the defense that was elite the previous two seasons finished 24th in the NFL last year and could be the focus of the front office this offseason. The fall-off in defensive sturdiness and a typically unimpressive offense make it clear that the Jaguars are the AFC South team with the most work to do this offseason.

2020 AFC South odds: the pick

It’s surprising how good of a price the Houston Texans (+170) are getting. Houston is the only AFC South team that has its franchise quarterback—Deshaun Watson—locked up heading into free agency and the draft. When healthy, Watson is throwing to one of the best receiving corps in the NFL with DeAndre Hopkins, Kenny Stills and Will Fuller. Just like every team, the Houston Texans need to make roster improvements, but as of now, they are for sure the best bet to win the 2020 AFC South title.
