Prediction

Eagles 31, Giants 23

Moneyline (?)

The Eagles (-223) are in a winner-take-all scenario: take care of the Giants and they’re into the playoffs as NFC East champs. While that’s fully expected, you can’t risk more than double your return. So it’s a PASS on the moneyline.

New to sports betting? A $10 wager on the Eagles on the moneyline returns a $4.48 profit with a Philly victory.

Against the Spread (?)

The EAGLES (-4.5, -106) can be trusted, as they have everything to play for, while the Giants (+4.5, -115) are playing for nothing but pride. Philly is 9-3 ATS in the past 12 trips to MetLife Stadium, too, while the road team is 4-1 ATS in the past five in this series.

Over/Under (?)

OVER 45.5 (-106) is the play in this one. The Giants defense has long since checked out, and was tuned up for 35 points last week by the lowly Redskins. The over has connected in seven straight meetings in New York, too, while going 6-2 in the past eight battles in this series overall.

5 reasons Giants could upset Eagles in Week 17

The New York Giants and Philadelphia Eagles square off in Week 17, and here are five reasons Big Blue could come away with the win.

As the 2019 season comes to a close, the New York Giants will finish with a losing record for the third straight year.

On a brighter note, they have a chance to finish the season strong by closing out on a three-game winning streak by beating the Philadelphia Eagles. By doing so, the G-Men would ultimately be playing spoiler against an Eagle team that must win to clinch the NFC East division title.

If the Eagles lose and the Cowboys beat the Redskins, then Dallas will be crowned division champions. The Eagles are riding a three-game winning streak of their own, which started against the Giants in Week 14. Now, Philadelphia is looking to cap off their season with a fourth straight divisional win, along with the crown in the east.

Let’s take a look at five reasons why the Giants could fulfill the act of spoiler on Sunday.

Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

Momentum

Both teams are riding respective winning streaks, but the pressure is 100% on the Eagles, who must win to get into the playoffs.

The Giants received promising performances last week from Daniel Jones, who threw for a career high 352 yards and five touchdown passes to go along with Saquon Barkley and his two touchdowns on 279 yards from scrimmage (Giants single-game franchise record, 189 rushing, 90 receiving).

While the defense has remained shaky, the offense was clicking on all-cylinders and if Jones and Barkley can put up similar numbers this week, they could potentially play spoiler against this red-hot Eagles team.

3 things to know about Eagles WR Deontay Burnett

3 things to know about Eagles WR Deontay Burnett

The Philadelphia Eagles added more depth to the 53 man roster after the team promoted Deontay Burnett to the active roster.

Only 22 years of age, the Eagles are his fourth NFL team, but the former USC star boasts a ton of potential and ability.

With Burnett set to make his debut with the Eagles, here are 3 things to know about the smooth wideout.

***

1. Burnett committed to USC as a Blueshirt signee

Burnett originally committed to Washington State, but de-committed and since Burnett did not have an official visit or an arranged in-home visit, he was eligible for the advance scholarship.

The Trojans were able to bring him on as a scholarship player after the first day of fall camp, making him eligible to play in 2015, but his scholarship didn’t count until the 2016 recruiting cycle.

Eagles Final Injury Report: Zach Ertz, Nelson Agholor ruled out for game vs. Giants

Philadelphia Eagles rule out tight end Zach Ertz for game against the New York giants

The Philadelphia Eagles will attempt to clinch the NFC East without Zach Ertz as the Birds ruled out their star tight end.

Nelson Agholor was ruled out for his fourth straight game, while Jordan Howard was cleared and not on the injury report.

Eagles Injury Report: Zach Ertz among 3 to not practice, 6 other listed as limited

The Eagles released their Thursday injury report and Zach Ertz was among three players to not practice

The Philadelphia Eagles released their Thursday injury report and Zach Ertz was among three starters to not practice. Brandon Brooks was among six other Eagles listed as limited participants in advance of Sunday’s game against the Giants.

Ertz is dealing with back soreness, along with his rib injuries.

Howard is expected to be cleared to rejoin the Eagles lineup after missing five games, while Johnson could be a game-time decision with a high ankle sprain, although it’s more likely that he’ll return for a potential playoff run.

Report: Eagles’ WR Nelson Agholor out vs. the Cowboys with a knee injury

Nelson Agholor out vs. Cowboys with a knee injury

The Philadelphia Eagles are expected to be without wide receiver Nelson Agholor for the fourth straight game, as Adam Schefter is reporting that veteran is not expected to play against the Cowboys.

Agholor has 39 catches for 363 yards this season and has struggled at times with tracking the football and dropped passes.

The Eagles will have three healthy players available at wide receiver on Sunday, as JJ Arcega-Whiteside, Greg Ward and Robert Davis will be Carson Wentz’s skill players.

Look for the Eagles to use a ton of 12 personnel, with Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert playing a prominent role.

Doug Pederson says Eagles will discuss shutting Nelson Agholor down for season

Eagles may shut Nelson Agholor down with nagging knee injury

Nelson Agholor has struggled this season with free agency approaching and the embattled Eagles star could get even worse news in the coming hours.

Doug Pederson confirmed that the Eagles have internally discussed shutting Agholor down for the season with a nagging knee injury.

Agholor has missed 9 straight practices, 3 straight games and he would have likely lost reps to Greg Ward if healthy anyway.
