Cincinnati at Navy odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Cincinnati Bearcats at Navy Midshipmen odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 3 Cincinnati Bearcats (6-0, 2-0 AAC) visit the Navy Midshipmen (1-5, 1-3) for a Saturday noon ET game at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md. Below, we look at the Cincinnati vs. Navy odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Cincinnati heads on the road for the first time since downing Notre Dame, 24-13 three weeks ago. In between, the Bearcats logged a pair of routs at home, defeating Temple and UCF by a combined 84 points. Last week, UC held UCF to just 141 passing yards despite having a multi-score lead for over three quarters. The Bearcats rank 11th in the nation in pass defense (171.7 yards per game).

The Midshipmen are in a tough stretch of their schedule. Their lone win of the season came against UCF, a 34-30 victory Oct. 2. Cincinnati dealt UCF a 56-21 loss last week.

Cincinnati at Navy odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Cincinnati 35, Navy 7

Money line

PASS. The true odds are buried in the Grand Canyon between prices.

Against the spread

Cincinnati has a much more talented roster and features a suffocating defense that wins possessions, creates turnovers and wins field position. UC is up against a shaky offense, but around four touchdowns is near the edge of where the Bearcats are even a modest value.

Consider a partial-unit play on the BEARCATS -27.5 (-120).

Over/Under

In a red-zone comparison, peg Cincinnati’s offensive numbers being a bit overcooked and Navy’s defensive numbers – especially in allowing TDs – as being undercooked.

UC was content to strangle Army 24-10 in a 600-yard (total) game last season. The Bearcats will be all-too-happy to grind out a respectable win and one that respects the Naval Academy in tone and tenor.

BACK THE UNDER 48.5 (-110).

Navy at Memphis odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Thursday’s Navy Midshipmen at Memphis Tigers odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Navy Midshipmen (1-4, 1-2 AAC) and Memphis Tigers (3-3, 0-2) tangle in a Thursday American Athletic Conference game at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we look at the Navy vs. Memphis odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

Navy is coming off a hard-fought 31-24 loss to now-No. 23 Southern Methodist (rankings according to the AFCA Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports). The Midshipmen head to Memphis having played in three straight games decided by one score. Navy’s offense – averaging 282.6 yards per game (ranking 126th) – has had trouble punching through to get key scores in clutch moments.

The Tigers are coming off five consecutive games decided by one score. Their 3-3 record comes courtesy of three wins to open the season followed by three straight losses. High-scoring, see-saw battles have been the norm for Memphis. The Tigers head into this game ranked 11th in the nation in total offense (499.3 yards per game) and 116th in defense (457.5 yards allowed per game).

Navy at Memphis odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Memphis 41, Navy 28

Money line

These two battled in a game that totaled 17 points and 601 yards a year ago with Memphis defeating Navy 10-7. The Tigers have taken two in a row and three of the last four in a series that has included plenty of close games.

The lean is on Memphis, but PASS on the pricing here.

Against the spread

Turnovers have short-circuited the Tigers in recent games. The home team is 4-0-1 ATS in the last five Memphis-Navy games.

The Tigers have a shaky pass defense, but that deficit gets mostly hidden away against the run-first Midshipmen. BACK MEMPHIS -11.5 (-110) on just a slight lean.

Over/Under

Consider a partial-unit play on the OVER 55.5 (-112). Some back-and-forth is likely to ensue, and both sides figure to find more success in red-zone opportunities than they’ve had thus far.

Air Force at Navy odds, picks and prediction

Analyzing Saturday’s Air Force at Navy odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Air Force Falcons (1-0) and Navy Midshipmen (0-1) tee it up Saturday as the race for the Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy get underway. The gridiron squads representing the Air Force and Naval Academies will tangle at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis; kickoff is slated for 3:30 p.m ET. Below, we look at the Air Force vs. Navy odds and lines, and make our expert college football picks, predictions and bets.

QB Haaziq Daniels ran for 3 touchdowns, as Air Force clocked a 35-14 victory over FCS foe Lafayette last week. The Falcons better than doubled up the Leopards 24-11 in first downs with a strong ground game leading the attack. The Falcons toted the ball 67 times for 370 yards (5.5 average). Daniels passed for 50 yards and ran for 72 in the season-opening triumph.

Navy was sunk 49-7 by Marshall last week. The Midshipmen were outgained by just 66 yards and had one more first down than the Herd. USNA earned a 34-25 comeback victory in its last home tilt against the Falcons in 2019. The Middies scored the go-ahead TD with 23 seconds remaining.

Air Force at Navy odds, lines, picks and predictions

Prediction

Air Force 28, Navy 21

Money line

Don’t dismiss favorites in the -200 to -300 range out of hand. There are occasions where there is decent leverage in this neighborhood but this isn’t one of those times.

An Air Force play would be on the radar at a price better than -220. PASS ON THIS TAG.

Against the spread

The Falcons are 4-1 against the spread in their last five meetings with the Midshipmen.

The Air Force defense figures as a solid unit and Navy QB Tai Lavatai was hurt after being sacked five times last week. The Middies had trouble turning yards into points last week; they may find more points this week peg them as a touchdown or more down throughout this contest.

BACK AIR FORCE -5.5 (-112).

Stream college football games on ESPN+ by signing up here.

Over/Under

The Under has gone 7-2 in the last nine series meetings. Look for some push back in 2021.

Navy may be a few points undervalued after last week and Air Force showed some life in the back half of last year’s 3-3 campaign.

TAKE THE OVER 39.5 (-110).

Navy at Army odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Navy at Army sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Navy Midshipmen (3-6, 3-4 AAC) visit the Army Black Knights (7-2 Independent) Saturday for a 3 p.m. ET kickoff in West Point, N.Y. Below, we analyze the Navy-Army college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Navy at Army: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 11 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Navy +240 (bet $100 to win $240) | Army -305 (bet $305 to win $100)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Navy +7 (-120) | Army -7 (+100)
  • Over/Under: 37.5 (O: -115 | U: -105)

Navy at Army: Three things to know

  1. For the first time in 77 years, Army will host Navy at Michie Stadium. These service academies normally meet on a neutral field and were to play in Philadelphia for the fourth straight season. Attendance limits in the state of Pennsylvania caused both schools to agree to move the game, and it was Army’s turn to be the home team.
  2. While no fans will be allowed at Michie Stadium, the Brigade of Midshipmen and Corps of Cadets will be in attendance, roughly 9,000 in total, and President Donald Trump will also take in the game.
  3. The Middies are 1-4-1 ATS in the previous six head-to-head meetings. The Under has cashed in a whopping 15 of the previous 17 in this series. Temperatures will hover in the upper 30’s with a chance of afternoon showers in West Point.

Navy at Army: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Army 29, Navy 13

Money line (ML)

Army (-305) is the play at home, although betting more than three times your potential return is just note my style. PASS.

Against the spread (ATS)

ARMY -7 (+100) is the way to go, and it’s not just because of its stellar offense. Army and Navy can run the ball with aplomb, but it’s defense that will make the difference here.

The Black Knights rank fourth in the nation with just 289.3 total yards allowed per game, and they’re eighth in the country with 16.3 points allowed per contest. Navy has been dinged for 32.0 PPG, and 212.6 rushing yards per game.

Over/Under (O/U)

OVER 37.5 (-115) is the play, as the projected total is just too low. Army will be amped playing this game on its home field for the first time since World War II, and Navy will offer very little resistance. A total in the 30’s is just too low for an Army offense which has scored 28 or more in three of the past four, and six of nine overall.

Tulsa at Navy odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Navy Midshipmen sports betting odds and lines, with college football betting picks, tips and predictions.

The Tulsa Golden Hurricane (5-1 overall, 5-0 AAC) travel to Annapolis, Md., to battle the Navy Midshipmen (3-5, 3-3) in a Saturday matinee kicking off at 3:30 p.m. ET at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. Below, we analyze the Tulsa-Navy college football betting odds and lines, with picks and predictions.

Tulsa is No. 22 in the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Tulsa at Navy: Betting odds, spread and lines

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated Friday at 9:20 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Tulsa -557 (bet $557 to win $100) | Navy +400 (bet $100 to win $400)
  • Against the spread/ATS: Tulsa -12.5 (-110) | Navy +12.5 (-110)
  • Over/Under: 47.5 (O: -115 | U: -106)

Tulsa at Navy: Three things to know

  1. Tulsa has won five consecutive games since losing 16-7 at then-No. 11 Oklahoma State in its season opener. The Golden Hurricane can secure a spot in the American Athletic Conference championship game with a win Saturday at Navy or a win against No. 7 Cincinnati next week.
  2. Navy is 5-0 against Tulsa in AAC play. The Midshipmen dominated Tulsa 45-17 last season. USNA and Tulsa were initially scheduled to play in Oklahoma Nov. 7, but the game was postponed due to a COVID-19 outbreak on the Naval Academy campus. Playing the makeup game in Annapolis allows Navy to recognize its 26-man senior class in one last home game.
  3. The Middies played just one game in the month of November. Navy lost to Memphis in a 10-7 slugfest last Saturday. The contest marked Navy’s third single-digit offensive output this season. USNA ranks 111th in FBS scoring, at 20.0 points per game.

Tulsa at Navy: Odds, betting lines, predictions and picks

Prediction

Tulsa 31, Navy 17

Money line (ML)

STEER CLEAR of the extra juice which typically accompanies spreads of this size. PASS.

Against the spread (ATS)

Tulsa has been impressive on the road. The Hurricane have raised their recruiting profile in recent years, and the results are showing between the lines in what has been a real move forward in 2020. Still, looking past Navy toward Cincinnati would be possible … if not for the Middies’ inability to stay in the game offensively.

TAKE TULSA -12.5 (-110).

Over/Under (O/U)

Respecting a well-made number here: PASS.
