Tulane at Memphis odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Friday’s Tulane at Memphis odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Tulane Green Wave (4-1, 1-0 AAC) and the Memphis Tigers (4-1, 1-0) meet Friday night at Simmons Bank Liberty Bowl in Memphis for an American Athletic Conference battle. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Tulane vs. Memphis odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Since Tulane was on the short end of a 37-20 loss at home against Ole Miss on Sept. 9, the Green Wave have bounced back with 3 straight wins against Southern Miss, Nicholls and UAB. Tulane topped UAB 35-23 last time out on Sept. 30, but it failed to cover the 22.5-point number, and it is just 1-3 ATS in the past 4 games overall.

Tulane’s defense has been solid lately, allowing a total of just 33 points in the past 3 outings, while the Under has hit in 4 straight contests.

The Tigers lost in a neutral-site game against Mizzou on Sept. 23, just missing the cover on a 6.5-point spread in a 34-27 loss. It bounced back with a 35-32 win over Boise State, pushing as 3-point favorites at most shops.

Opposite of Tulane, Memphis has cashed the Over in 3 straight games, scoring 27 or more points, while allowing 24 or more points, with an average of 30.0 PPG during the span.

Tulane at Memphis picks and predictions

Prediction

Tulane 32, Memphis 29

Moneyline

Tulane (-200) is a strong play to win straight up, especially if you don’t want to fiddle around with points in a potentially close game, but it’s hard to justify spending 2 times what you can win.

The Green Wave has won 3 of 4 games outright against non-Power 5 teams, scoring 35 or more points in each of those contests.

There is a risk, however, as the home team has won each of the past 6 meetings outright. Memphis (+165) is also 3-1 SU in the past 4 games as a home underdog.

PASS and look to the spread or total.

Against the spread

MEMPHIS +4.5 (+110) is a very good play, especially since the home side has fared so well in the series over the past half decade.

Tulane -4.5 (-110) has covered 3 straight in the series, while going 6-2 ATS in the past 8 in the series. Still, the Tigers are also a tough team to beat at home, and it wouldn’t be shocking to see this game decided by 3 or fewer points.

Over/Under

OVER 54.5 (-110) is the lean. The total has gone high in 3 straight games for Memphis, while going 4-1 in 5 games overall this season.

For Tulane, the Under has cashed in 4 in a row, but it’s not because of a lack of offense. The Green Wave has scored 35 or more points in 3 of 5 games this season. And the Over is 3-1 in the past 4 meetings in this series, too, while cashing in 3 straight, and 4 of the past 5, played at the Liberty Bowl.

Navy at Memphis odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Thursday’s Navy at Memphis odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Navy Midshipmen (1-1) and the Memphis Tigers (2-0) meet Thursday at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium in Memphis. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Navy vs. Memphis odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Midshipmen head into this American Athletic Conference (AAC) opener with a 42-3 setback against Notre Dame in Dublin and a 24-0 victory over Wagner of the FCS. The Middies have failed to cover the spread in both outings so far, while cashing the Under in each contest.

The Tigers are off to a 2-0 straight up (SU) start, while splitting against the number and on totals. Memphis picked up a 37-3 road win at Arkansas State of the Sun Belt Conference, cashing as a 21-point favorite as the Under (57) cashed last time out. The team’s 1st win was against Bethune Cookman of the FCS, a 56-14 rout as the Over (59.5) connected.

Navy at Memphis picks and predictions

Prediction

Memphis 38, Navy 17

Moneyline

Memphis (-650) will cost you 6 1/2 times your potential return, and that’s way too much risk and not enough reward.

The Tigers lead the series 5-3 since Navy joined the AAC in 2015 for football. The Middies won 3 of the 1st 4 meetings, but the Tigers have dominated the series since, winning the last 4 in the series, with 3 of those victories coming by 12 or more points. The last 2 wins have been by an average of 20.0 points per game (PPG).

PASS.

Against the spread

MEMPHIS -14.5 (-115) is the play in this conference opener, especially at home.

Navy +14.5 (-105) has really struggled to put points on the board, as even Wagner held down the normally potent rushing attack of the Midshipmen. Navy’s defense did its job, but the Middies managed just 18 first downs against the FCS opponent, while going 4 of 13 on 3rd-down efficiency. And Navy won just 24-0 despite a plus-2 turnover ratio.

On the flip side, the Tigers have racked up 93 points in 2 games, while allowing just 17 total points. The offense is potent, and the Midshipmen don’t have the horses to keep up.

Over/Under

OVER 47.5 (-110) is the play Thursday night, and the Tigers might do most of the heavy lifting. Again, Memphis has scored 37 or more points in each of its 2 games to date.

Navy hasn’t had any modicum of success on offense, so that’s why you need to be a little cautious here. But Memphis has rolled up plenty of points this season, and it has dominated against Navy in the past 2 seasons. Look for the total to get into the 50’s.

March Madness: FAU vs. Memphis odds, picks and predictions

The 9th-seeded FAU Owls (31-3) meet the 8th-seeded Memphis Tigers (26-8) Friday for a first-round East Region game in the NCAA Tournament. Tip-off from Nationwide Arena in Columbus is scheduled for approximately 9:20 p.m. ET (TNT). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the FAU vs. Memphis odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The Owls rolled past UAB in the Conference USA championship game Saturday by a 78-56 score, cashing as 2-point underdogs. FAU used defense to lock down the rest of the league, allowing just 57.3 points per game in 3 games in the league tourney.

This is FAU’s first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2002 when it was a 15-seed. It ended up covering against Alabama in an 8-point loss.

The Tigers caught fire in the AAC Tournament, winning games against UCF, Tulane and Houston. The final 2 games were victories by 10 or more points. Memphis is an impressive 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in the past 5 games overall, and 6-2 ATS across the past 8 contests.

Memphis has a rich basketball history, and the Tigers have won at least 1 game in each of their last 10 NCAA Tournament appearances dating back to 2003.

FAU vs. Memphis picks and predictions

Prediction

Memphis 77, FAU 72

Moneyline

MEMPHIS (-125) is a solid moderate favorite worth playing if you don’t want to fiddle around with the points.

FAU is a tough matchup for the Tigers, as it lost just 3 games all season. The Owls are tied with Charleston and Houston with 31 wins, the most victories in college hoops. FAU went 2-1 in Quad 1 wins, too, so it won’t be a pushover.

However, Memphis posted 4 Q1 wins, while managing to avoid bad losses all season. This game is going to be super close, but in the end, G Kendric Davis and F DeAndre Williams will be too much for the Owls to handle

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Against the spread

MEMPHIS -1.5 (-110) is worth a look, going 4-1 ATS in the past 5 games and cashing in 5 of the past 6 outings on a neutral floor. Memphis has covered 5 of its last 7 games against winning teams, too.

FAU has cashed 5 of the past 7 games overall, but it doesn’t have nearly the same postseason experience as Memphis, and that will be the difference here in a very entertaining game.

Over/Under

UNDER 152.5 (-105) is the lean, but go with a half-unit play at most.

The Under is 18-7-1 in the past 26 games for FAU on a neutral floor and 5-2 in the past 7 appearances in the NCAA Tournament for Memphis. The Under is 6-1 in the past 7 games for the Tigers against teams with a winning overall record, too.

AAC Tournament: Memphis vs. Houston odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Memphis vs. Houston odds and lines, with expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Tigers (25-8) take on the No. 1 Houston Cougars (31-2) Sunday in the AAC Tournament championship game. Tip from Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, is at 3:15 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Memphis vs. Houston odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Rankings courtesy of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

This will be the 3rd meeting between these teams since Feb. 19. Houston topped Memphis 72-64 as a 14.5-point home favorite on Feb. 19 and came out on top with a 67-65 victory as a 4.5-point favorite in Memphis last Sunday. The Under cashed in both games.

Memphis has likely secured an NCAA Tournament berth just by reaching this game, but becoming just the 3rd team to defeat Houston this season and winning the AAC Championship would be a feather in its cap.

Cougars coach Kelvin Sampson will be looking to get his team out of this game healthy and ready to go in the opening round of March Madness with the No. 1 seed in the South Region likely wrapped up. Houston may be without AAC Player of the Year G Marcus Sasser, who aggravated a hamstring injury Saturday. It would benefit the Cougars to let him sit and heal up for a potential National Championship run, even if it means the AAC championship game being closer than they’d like.

Memphis vs. Houston picks and predictions

Prediction

Houston 67, Memphis 58

Moneyline

PASS.

Houston (-260) is still the best team in this game even if Sasser can’t go. The Cougars are unlikely to be threatened even though his absence would be felt.

However, you shouldn’t risk more than 2 1/2 times your potential return on a standalone moneyline bet, and Houston should win by margin.

Against the spread

BET HOUSTON -5.5 (-115).

Houston’s defense will be the key to success Sunday as it has been all season. The Cougars allow just 56.5 points per game, 2nd in the nation, and have managed to hold the Tigers to just 64.5 points per game across their two meetings this season. Memphis has a prolific offense that scores 79.5 points per game on the season, good for 24th in the country.

Memphis beat Tulane 94-54 in the semifinals Saturday, and it is 0-3-2 ATS in its last 5 games after scoring 90 or more points in the previous game. Squaring off with a physical team like Houston is not the action you want fewer than 24 hours after running up and down the floor in a high-scoring outing. A slow start could be in store for the Tigers and that’s all Houston should need to cover this spread.

Stream select live college basketball games and full replays: Get ESPN+

Over/Under

LEAN UNDER 134.5 (-105).

Not only does Houston rank 2nd in the nation in scoring defense, but it also ranks 2nd in opponents’ field-goal percentage (36.5%) and opponents’ 3-point percentage (28.0%). The Cougars’ defense is elite in all aspects and the Tigers will find scoring difficult.

While Memphis’ defense ranks 250th (72.6 points allowed per game), the Houston offense does not pose a significant threat (76.0 points per game, 77th). With Sasser potentially unavailable and likely limited if he does play, 134.5 seems too high.

Houston at Memphis odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Houston at Memphis odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The No. 1 Houston Cougars (28-2, 16-1 AAC) battle the Memphis Tigers (23-7, 13-4) Sunday. Tip from FedEx Forum is set for noon ET (CBS). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Houston vs. Memphis odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Rankings courtesy of the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

Houston beat Memphis 72-64 at home on Feb. 19, failing to cover as a 14.5-point favorite. The Under 141 hit.

The Cougars have won 10 in a row but have covered just 4 of them. They are coming off an 83-66 win over Witchita State, failing to cover as a 17.5-point home favorite. Houston is 1-4 against the spread (ATS) over its last 5 games and is 17-13 ATS on the season.

The Tigers are 3-2 ATS in their last 5 and coming off an 81-62 win at Southern Methodist, covering as a 6.5-point favorite. They have won 3 in a row and 6 of their last 7. Memphis is 13-15-2 ATS on the season and 17-13 O/U.

PASS.

The moneyline odds for Memphis might be enticing, but I would take the points and play it on the spread.

Against the spread

LEAN MEMPHIS +5.5 (-110).

The Cougars are 1-3 ATS in their last 4 road games despite winning all 4 of them. They are one of the best teams in the nation, but it is tough to cover road games with wide spreads. Memphis is 3-1 ATS in its last 4 games as well. It also played Houston well on the road, losing by just 8.

The Tigers held the Cougars to just 3-for-17 shooting. In a more friendly environment, expect Memphis to come ready to play. Back MEMPHIS +5.5 (-110).

Over/Under

BET UNDER 145.5 (-115).

In the last game between these 2 teams, there were 28 combined turnovers. The Tigers also shot 40% from deep and still only scored 64 points. Both teams have defenses that rank in the top 50 in opponents’ field goal percentage and opponents’ 3-point field goal percentage.

The Tigers have gone Under in 4 of their last 5 games as well. With Houston having alternated between the Over and Under in their last 7 and the Under being primed to hit, back the UNDER 145.5 (-115).

Cincinnati at Memphis odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Cincinnati at Memphis odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Cincinnati Bearcats (19-10, 10-6 American) battle the Memphis Tigers (21-7, 11-4) on Sunday with tip from FedEx Forum at 2 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Cincinnati vs. Memphis odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Cincinnati defeated Temple 88-83 in overtime on Wednesday, but failed to cover as 9-point home favorites. It has won back-to-back games and is 6-4 in its last 10 games, both straight  up and against the spread (ATS). The Bearcats are 18-10 ATS on the season.

Memphis defeated Wichita State 83-78 on the road on Thursday to cover as 3-point favorites. It is 8-2 in its last 10 games and 5-3-2 ATS in that span. The Tigers are 12-14-2 ATS this season.

Memphis at Tulsa odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s Memphis at Tulsa odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Tigers (16-5, 6-2 AAC) and Tulsa Golden Hurricane (5-14, 1-7) meet Sunday in American Athletic Conference action. Tip at the Donald W. Reynolds Center is at 5 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Memphis vs. Tulsa odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

Memphis is 4-0 straight up (SU) in its last 4 games. The Tigers had lost 8 in a row against the spread (ATS) until a Jan. 22 win as a 2.5-point underdog at Cincinnati and Thursday’s cover of a -13 tag in a 99-84 win over SMU. The up-tempo Tigers rank 2nd in AAC scoring at 79.8 points per game.

Tulsa, which has the AAC’s 11th-ranked defense (76.1 PPG), is 1-8 in its last 9 games and 2-6-1 ATS. The Hurricane has yielded a 48.8% accuracy mark from the floor over that stretch. Against the Tigers, however, Tulsa has won 7 in a row ATS.

Against the spread

The Tigers are 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games after scoring more than 90 points in their previous game. They are also 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games vs. against teams playing sub-.400 ball.

Some shooting regression and a lower score would not be a surprise here. Memphis is scheduled to have 5 days off after this game and could get caught flat-footed in a sleepy Sunday spot while looking forward to that off time.

Tulsa fits as a bad-luck 5 so far and 1 worth some partial-unit action in this one. BACK THE GOLDEN HURRICANE +12.5 (-115).

Over/Under

The Under is 5-1 in the last 6 series meetings.

Memphis is a fast team, but 1 that has slowed a bit over recent weeks. A normalized-pace game — with a total in the mid-140s — is likely enough to warrant action on the UNDER 152.5 (-105).

The Memphis Tigers (14-5, 4-2 AAC) battle the Cincinnati Bearcats (14-6, 5-2) Sunday. Tip from Fifth Third Arena is set for 1 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Memphis vs. Cincinnati odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and bets.

The Tigers beat Wichita St. at home 88-78 Thursday, failing to cover as a 10.5-point favorite. Memphis is just 7-12 against the spread (ATS) this season and is 2-4 straight up on the road. It has failed to cover 8 in a row. The Tigers’ offense ranks 38th in points per game (79.1).

Cincinnati is 13-6 ATS this season. It beat South Florida 85-69 on the road Wednesday, covering as a 4-point road favorite. The Bearcats have covered 7 of their last 10, yet have alternated covering and not in their last 6. The Bearcats’ offense ranks 63rd in points per game (77.3).

Memphis at Cincinnati picks and predictions

Prediction

Cincinnati 79, Memphis 74

Moneyline

PASS.

Cincinnati is 10-2 at home while Memphis is 2-5 on the road. Given the Tigers road struggles, I would give the points and play Cincinnati on the spread instead of the juiced moneyline value.

Against the spread

BET CINCINNATI -2.5 (-115).

Cincinnati has won 3 straight games and has rewarded bettors handsomely at home. It is 9-2 ATS as the home team and the Bearcats have covered 5 of their last 6 games at home.

The Tigers, on the other hand, have been one of the worst covering teams in the nation and have failed to cover 8 in a row, 3 of which have been on the road.

Memphis ranks 19th in opponents’ FG percentage (39%) yet 254th in opponents’ points per game (72). It has to figure out its rebounding flaws, and against Cincinnati is not the time. Given the Bearcats strength at home, back CINCINNATI -2.5 (-115).

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 151.5 (-110).

The Tigers rank 36th in the nation in points per game (79.1). They have gone over in 4 of their last 6 games and have scored over 80 in 5 of their last 7. The Memphis offense is legit and should press on the Bearcats defense.

Memphis is 12-7 O/U this season. The Bearcats are 9-10 O/U. Cincinnati scored 85 in its last game and has topped 80 in 2 of its last 3. It is 9-10 O/U this season. For a partial unit, back the OVER 151.5 (-110).

Analyzing Sunday’s Memphis at Temple odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Tigers (12-5, 2-2 AAC) and Temple Owls (10-8, 4-1) tangle in an American Athletic Conference battle in Philadelphia Sunday. The contest at the Liacouras Center will tip off at 3 p.m. ET (ESPN). In its last 6 games Memphis is 4-2 straight up (SU), but 0-6 against the spread (ATS). The Tigers are coming off a 107-104 double overtime loss at UCF. The high-scoring Tigers have scored 82 points or more in 8 of its last 9 games.

Temple is 4-1 SU and 4-1 ATS over its last 5 games. A young Owls team which launches a slew of 3s has drained 21 treys in its last 2 games. Temple is looking for its 1st win against Memphis since 2018.

Memphis vs. Temple picks and predictions

Prediction

Memphis 75, Temple 69

Moneyline

Lots of juice here: PASS.

Against the spread

AVOID what looks like an accurate spread.

Temple has hit its stride of late. The Owls logged a nice win Jan. 1 against Cincinnatiand picked up a solid road win Jan. 4 at South Florida. A Jan. 7 loss at Tulane was followed by a 76-72 road win Tuesday at Tulsa, covering as a 3.5-point favorite.

Over/Under

The Under is 4-1 in the Owls’ last 5 games following an ATS win. In previous comps for Memphis, games were totaled in the mid-140s. TAKE THE UNDER 149.5 (-110).

First Responder Bowl: Memphis vs. Utah State odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Memphis Tigers vs. Utah State Aggies odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

The Memphis Tigers (6-6) take on the Utah State Aggies (6-6) in the SERVPRO First Responder Bowl on Tuesday with kickoff at Gerald J. Ford Stadium in Dallas at 3:15 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze Tipico Sportsbook’s lines around the Memphis vs. Utah State school odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Memphis qualified for a bowl winning 2 of its final 3 games following a 3-game losing streak. The covered the spread in their final 4 games, but ended the regular season with a 34-31 road loss to SMU as 4-point underdogs.

Memphis vs. Utah State odds

Provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Monday at 1:35 p.m. ET.

  • Moneyline (ML): Memphis -290 (bet $290 to win $100) | Utah State +230 (bet $100 to win $230)
  • Against the spread (ATS): Memphis -7.5 (-105) | Utah State +7.5 (-115)
  • Over/Under (O/U): 60 (O: -111 | U: -109)

Memphis vs. Utah State picks and predictions

Prediction

Memphis 34, Utah State 24

Moneyline

Utah State will not have RBs Calvin Tyler Jr. or Robert Briggs, their top 2 rushers, in this game. Tyler opted out and Briggs is injured.

Memphis averaged 35.1 points per game this season. Their offense will be tough to match without the Aggies’ top running backs. And the Utah State defense allowed an average of 30.6 points per game.

I give Memphis the edge here, but the line doesn’t warrant a wager at this price.

PASS.

Against the spread

Utah State did not lose a game this season by fewer than 10 points. The Aggies were 4-8 ATS this season.

All 6 of Memphis’ wins were by at least 16 points. The Tigers were 6-6 ATS on the season.

The Utah State offense only averaged 23.3 points per game and the Memphis offense put up more than 35 points per game.

BET MEMPHIS -7.5 (-105).

Over/Under

Only 1 of Memphis’ final 3 games got to 60 total points. Utah State’s final 3 games all surpassed 60 points, but their previous 3 all did not get to 60.

Anticipate a game in which both teams score roughly what they averaged in the regular season.

BET UNDER 60 (-111).
