Dallas beat the New England Revolution but was clobbered by the Colorado Rapids and San Jose Earthquakes. The second-to-worst team in the Western Conference by points, FC Dallas enters the match as a heavy underdog against third-place LA.

LA Galaxy 2, FC Dallas 1

Money line (ML)

BET on the GALAXY (-120) because they’re the better team and should get the job done at home.

Chicharito will be taking on one of the worst defenses in MLS. FC Dallas had given up 17 goals on the season and only three teams in the West have allowed more.

With only one player having scored more than 2 goals on the season, FC Dallas doesn’t have much attacking prowess.

That could help the Galaxy, who have also given up 17 goals but have managed to mitigate the impact by scoring just as often. While both teams may have stronger attacks than defenses, one has clearly proven to be better.

At -120, the Galaxy offer good value at home.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” to the UNDER 3.5 (-185) but be cautious due to the value being less than desirable. The Galaxy have not conceded more than 3 goals in a match this season.

In addition, the Galaxy have combined for 4 goals with their opponent in only one of the last nine matches. It’s risky to back the Under 2.5 (+135) on the more profitable alternate line, though.

Dallas’ 2-2 draw with Vancouver Sunday was the only time it combined for 4 or more goals in its last five outings.

Both of these teams can score but betting on 4 goals in an MLS match never feels like the smart play. I’d go with the Under 3.5 and even lean to the Under 2.5.

Seattle Sounders 2, Houston Dynamo 0

BET on the SOUNDERS (-145).

There really isn’t another way to play this. While they’ve struggled against weak teams, tying Austin FC and the Vancouver Whitecaps, I’d expect them to take of business Wednesday.

With F Raul Ruidiaz leading the way, Seattle should be able to break through a weak Houston defense. The Sounders don’t give up many goals, while the Dynamo have the fourth-most goals allowed in the Western Conference.

I’d be shocked if the Sounders couldn’t break down Houston’s back line, even without Bruin.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET the UNDER 2.5 (+115) as a plus-money bet on the total for MLS typically feels like a good deal. The Sounders have given up just 8 goals through 12 games and have typically dictated the pace of the game.

The Under hit in five of the last eight games for Seattle and in three of the last four for Houston.

The Dynamo have scored 16 goals and given up 17 through 12 matches. While their games typically run higher scoring, expect the Under to hit if Seattle dictates the pace as expected.

New England Revolution 3, Toronto FC 1

Money line (ML)

BET on the REVOLUTION (-200) because they’re the much better team, and TFC is in absolute shambles. Combining both of those and adding in that the Revolution are at home makes this an easy choice. It’s a steep price, but it’s one that should hit.

With F Gustavo Bou having 6 goals on the season against good competition, he should add to that total against Toronto. New England has the fourth-most shots on target in MLS while Toronto has the worst save percentage in the league.

With the New England defense having been far from flawless itself, expect this to be a high-scoring match.

New England is 5-0-0 at home this season should come out on top Wednesday.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the OVER 3.5 (+125) as New England has the East’s best offense and a flawed defense.

Toronto has the worst defense in MLS by far. If New England gets an early goal, this game may get out of hand as an already-weak TFC defense may be forced to play with pace.

Overall, it’s not looking pretty for the Under. Over 2.5 hit in New England’s last four games and in five of its last six. As for Toronto, Over 2.5 cashed in four of its last five games.

Coming off an effort in which it gave up 7 goals to D.C. United, Toronto will play a much better and more tactical Revolution attack which may result in a similarly lopsided result.

BET on the GALAXY (+150) because they’re at home, and they could very well be the superior side. With F Chicharito leading MLS in goals, the Galaxy sit third in the Western Conference.

However, their points per game are higher than Sporting KC, who sit second in the West but have played two more matches. Sporting ranks No. 1 in goals inside the 18, key passes, goals and passing percentage. They’re a very technical team.

If the Galaxy can break them down with the league’s best goal-scorer leading the way, they’ll be able to come out on top. LA also plays much better at home, securing four wins in five matches.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” on the OVER 3.5 (+125) as a risky but easily feasible play. Both teams rank in the top five in goals scored, and without many losses combined, they typically are able to play at their opponent’s level.

Betting on 4 goals is a huge risk as the Galaxy have managed only to top 3 combined goals three times. Sporting KC’s attack is no joke, though, as they’ve hit 4 in a match in three of their last six games.

It’s two incredibly talented attacks against two subpar defenses. Expect a shootout, and in a plus-money situation, the Over is the way to go.

BET on SEATTLE TO WIN OR A DRAW (-125) because it has yet to lose, and this is by far the best value, even though Colorado is a formidable opponent.

The Rapids have some talent with 28-year-old F Diego Rubio leading the attack. He has 3 goals on the season and the Rapids have three other players with 2 each.

Betting against Colorado typically isn’t a smart play, but when you get that they tie or lose to the best team in the MLS for -125, you make that bet. Seattle has an incredibly talented defense.

The Sounders rank in the top five in save percentage, duel rate percentage and interceptions. Along with a top-two scoring option in Ruidiaz, bet on the Sounders to not lose.

Over/Under (O/U)

“LEAN” on the UNDER 2.5 (+105) because, as noted, the Sounders have the best defense in MLS. The Rapids have given up just 11 goals through nine matches as well and don’t allow a flurry of chances, either.

Now, the Rapids hit the Over in five of their last six games, but again, the Sounders backline is that good. They hit the Under in four of their last seven contests.

The price is good for the Under, but it’s risky. If you look to play the total, lean to the Under and then go throw more on the Sounders not to lose instead.

Los Angeles FC 2, Real Salt Lake 1

Money line (ML)

BET on LAFC (+110) as Vela’s continued return to full strength will be a huge factor. He’s arguably the best player in MLS, especially with Josef Martinez sidelined for Atlanta United.

Vela had 34 goals in 31 starts in 2019 and Rossi led the league in goals last season. This duo hasn’t had much time together on the pitch, and they should be able to work some magic.

Salt Lake F Damir Kreilach has 5 goals on the season, but I think LAFC starts to show its dominance Saturday. It’ll need it too, currently sitting 10th in the Western Conference.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (-170) as LAFC is bringing back a dynamic duo and Kreilach will look to also be a force.

Both teams topped the total and 3 combined goals in three of their last five matches. The Over feels like the better play as the scoring should rain in.

Both teams average over a goal per game, and when Vela is healthy, LAFC is far more lethal in the final third. His pace just adds a new dimension. This should be at least a 2-1 match.

Philadelphia Union 1, Nashville SC 1

“Lean” to the DRAW (+230) but heavily consider playing Philadelphia to win or a draw at -130. I don’t love either bet, but the Union have looked terrific this season.

They’ve only lost to New York City FC in a game they had a red card and Inter Miami in a game in which they were also preparing for a CONCACAF Champions League match just three days later.

They don’t lose often and haven’t lost on the road this season. At the same time, Nashville has been playing well of late. It has three wins and four draws without a home loss so far.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the UNDER 2.5 (-115) as the Union will be without a key threat in Bedoya.

While they combined for 6 goals in their last outing with the Fire, the Union have had a relatively stable backline, giving up just 10 goals on the season.

Nashville is also solid in the back, giving up just 11 goals through 10 matches. If those trends continue, this will be a low-scoring game. The Under has hit in six of Nashville’s last eight matches.

Also, FC Cincinnati’s only 3 wins were on the road, so it somehow plays better away from TQL Stadium.

While it’s risky, one can tame the odds down with FC Cincinnati to win or draw for -120. That’s a solid bet given the form both sides have been in.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the UNDER 2.5 (+110) because Cincinnati is finding its stride and Houston’s also hit the Under in two of its last three matches. Two of the three draws ended at 1-1.

On top of that, only 3 goals have been scored in FC Cincinnati’s last two games. While both defenses have had trouble this season, I expect a low-scoring affair in this one.

Portland Timbers 1, Austin FC 1

Neither team can be trusted to get the win, so if anything, bet on the DRAW (+230). After all, the only two games Austin FC has played at Q2 Stadium ended in draws.

Since Portland returned from the international break, it has gone 1-1-1, playing only teams ahead of it in the standings. Unless 29-year-old F Dairon Asprilla can get going, I don’t see either side doing much damage.

Austin, who doesn’t have much firepower on its roster, is coming off a 0-0 draw with the Columbus Crew at home. Expect a slow slugfest in this once. Austin FC has just 2 wins on the season and hasn’t proven to be much better at home.

Slightly lean to the Draw, but look to the total for the best value.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the UNDER 2.5 (-105) as the best value this game has to offer. Portland has allowed 15 goals through 10 games and Austin has allowed 11 goals in 11 games.

While the Timbers concede at a higher rate, Austin FC can’t capitalize, especially at home. Its 43 shots on target this season rank in the league’s top half, but Austin has just 6 goals, which is by far the lowest total in the Western Conference.

Austin and Chicago are the only teams in MLS with fewer than 9 goals. It’s been a pitiful display on offense, and there’s no reason to think it changes Thursday. Austin FC has yet to score a goal at home this season.

Portland has scored 4 goals in three games since the international break. I’d expect a 1-1 game, but 0-0 or 1-0 doesn’t seem too out of the question.

Either way, bet the UNDER 2.5 (-105).
