New York Red Bulls vs. New York City FC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s New York Red Bulls vs. New York City FC odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The New York Red Bulls (9 wins, 5 losses, 6 draws) welcome NYCFC (10-4-5) to Red Bull Arena Sunday. Kickoff is set for 5 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the New York Red Bulls vs. New York City FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

New York City FC sits 2nd in the Eastern Conference, 4 points back and 2 games behind the Philadelphia Union. Having allowed just 21 goals, NYCFC is tied for the 2nd-best defense in the East. They’re tied with the Red Bulls.

While NYCFC has been unstoppable at home, they have won just 3 of 8 road matches with a 3-3-2 away record. NYCFC is led by F Valentín Castellanos with 12 goals this season.

The Red Bulls are led by 25-year-old Scottish F Lewis Morgan, who has 9 goals. Four other players have scored at least 3.

New York is 3-2-4 at home this season, also relying heavily on its elite defense. The Red Bulls didn’t play well against NYCFC last season, posting  a 0-2-1 record. This will be the 1st of just 2 meetings this season (next match is Sept. 17).

  • Money line: New York Red Bulls +145 (bet $100 to win $145) | NYCFC +180 (bet $100 to win $180) | Draw +255
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -125 | U: +100)

[tipico]

Prediction

NYCFC 2, New York Red Bulls 1

Money line (ML)

BET NYCFC +180.

The Red Bulls have a solid record, but their recent performances haven’t lived up to standard. They should’ve lost to FC Cincinnati but were saved by a penalty kick. They beat Sporting KC 1-0 in their 2nd-to-last game despite having fewer expected goals.

Their last 3 games have been to teams in the East outside of the playoff picture, and their only game of the season at home against a playoff team was a 2-1 loss to Montreal.

NYCFC has won 2 of their last 3 matches, doubling their opponents’ expected goals in 2 of the 3 matches. They’ve also won 3 of their last 5 road matches.

NYCFC is a formidable side that has had 6 shutouts in their last 11 games. They should be able to get the best of the Red Bulls Sunday.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN OVER 2.5 (-125).

NYCFC has had 1 of the best defenses in the MLS, but it hasn’t been at the same level as of late and that should concern bettors. They’ve allowed 10 goals in their last 5 matches.

In those 5 matches, they’ve scored 12, so their offense has been red-hot lately, something to also consider. The Red Bulls have scored 11 goals in their last 4 matches.

They’ve also allowed over a goal per match despite being one of the East’s better defensive teams. With both teams reeling defensively and thriving offensively, I’ll take the Over 2.5 (-125) here.

Colorado Rapids vs. LA Galaxy odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Colorado Rapids vs. LA Galaxy odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Colorado Rapids (5 wins, 8 losses, 6 wins) host the LA Galaxy (8-8-3) Saturday at DSG Park. Kickoff is set for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Colorado Rapids vs. LA Galaxy odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

The Rapids are coming into this battle off a 1-1 home draw with Orlando City. Colorado has been formidable at home, posting a 5-2-3 record. It sits 13th in the West because it is winless on the road.

The Rapids defense is far from what it was a season ago, having allowed 1.42 goals per game. Colorado is led in scoring by 29-year-old F Diego Rubio, who has 8 goals on the season.

LA has slid in the rankings lately, having lost 3 of its last 4 matches. 2 of those losses were at home as well. The Galaxy are 3-3-2 on the road this season.

One of the more inconsistent sides, LA is led by F Dejan Joveljić, who has 8 goals and F Javier Hernández, who has 7 on the season. LA has the 6th-most goals in the West.

Colorado Rapids vs. LA Galaxy odds, lines, picks and predictions

  • Money line: Colorado Rapids -110 (bet $110 to win $100) | LA Galaxy +275 (bet $100 to win $275) | Draw +290
  • Over/Under: 3.5 (O: +133 | U: -170)

[tipico]

Prediction

Colorado Rapids 1, LA Galaxy 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN DRAW +290.

The books clearly like Colorado at home, and there’s good reason for that. Couple that with the Galaxy’s recent struggles, and the odds on the money line make perfect sense.

However, in this situation, these teams should be evenly matched.

The Galaxy play to the level of their competition on the road, having drawn 2 of their last 5 and having ended the match within 0.6 expected goals of its opponents.

For Colorado, while it has seen success at home, it is just 1-2-1 against West teams in playoff position. On top of that, the Rapids have lost 2 of their last 3 at home and haven’t won at DSG since May 22.

Considering the Galaxy’s inconsistencies, I wouldn’t necessarily bet on them to come out on top which is why the DRAW +290 is the way I’d play the money line.

Over/Under (O/U)

UNDER ALTERNATE TOTAL 2.5 (+140).

The Galaxy have played at a different pace on the road and haven’t found the same offensive success. LA has gone under 2.5 combined goals in 5 of its 8 road matches this season.

Four of those 5 have actually gone under 1.5 goals as well. With Colorado having gone Under this total in 7 of 10 home matches this season, there’s value in betting the Under here.

Both teams also rank in the top 10 in shots against, so they typically do limit their opponents’ chances. Put it all together, and UNDER 2.5 (+140) is my favorite bet of the match.

Colorado Rapids vs. Orlando City SC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Colorado Rapids vs. Orlando City SC odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Colorado Rapids (5 wins, 8 losses, 5 draws) host Orlando City SC (8-7-4) at DSG Park Wednesday. Kickoff is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Colorado Rapids vs. Orlando City SC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

After finishing atop the Western Conference a season ago, the Rapids have disappointed so far in 2022. They sit 12th in the West and are 7 points outside of playoff position.

Their offense has been a key reason for their struggles, having scored just 21 goals in 18 matches. Colorado is led in scoring by F Diego Rubio with 8 goals. The Rapids are 5-2-2 at home this season.

Orlando City SC sits in 5th place in the East. However, their -4 goal differential is the largest of any team in the top 7.

Orlando City also hasn’t had big-time scoring events, totaling just 24 goals in 19 matches. They’re led in scoring by F Ercan Kara with 7. Orlando has lost just 2 of 9 road matches this season.

Colorado Rapids vs. Orlando City SC odds, lines, picks and predictions

  • Money line: Colorado Rapids -125 (bet $125 to win $100) | Orlando City SC +330 (bet $100 to win $330) | Draw +280
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -130| U: +105)

[tipico]

Prediction

Colorado Rapids 2, Orlando City SC 0

Money line (ML)

BET COLORADO RAPIDS -125.

The Rapids have won 5 of their last 7 home matches, and doing that is far more difficult than it sounds when you realize the West-leading LAFC, Seattle, and Portland were among the teams they beat.

Colorado has 3 points 9 road matches, so the stark difference is seemingly a big deal. Orlando City has played well on the road, but they’ve been far from formidable, especially when taking a closer look.

Orlando has a 3-2-4 road record, but has been fewer expected goals than its opponent in all but 2 matches. Colorado is the opposite, having more expected goals than its opponent in all but 2 home matches.

At this value, considering how each team has played in this situation, I’d back Colorado.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (+105).

Again, Orlando City has capitalized on chances on the road, having been shut out just twice, but they have more than 1 expected goal in just 3 away matches.

They average just 1.24 per game, allowing 1.47. Colorado is similar, having struggled to score. It averages just 1.17 and allowed 1.44. Both teams rank in the bottom 6 teams in the MLS in shots on target.

Expect a low-scoring match with the Under 2.5 (+105) as my favorite wager.

FC Cincinnati vs. Vancouver Whitecaps odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s FC Cincinnati vs. Vancouver Whitecaps odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

FC Cincinnati (7 wins, 7 losses, 5 draws) welcomes the Vancouver Whitecaps (7-9-3) to TQL Stadium Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the FC Cincinnati vs. Vancouver Whitecaps odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

FC Cincinnati’s last match against the New York Red Bulls resulted in a 1-1 draw, but having received 2 red cards while giving up a penalty as the Red Bulls’ lone goal, 1 point seemed like a positive result. FCC played well against the East’s top seed.

FCC has drawn 4 of its last 5, including 3 matches against 3 of the East’s top-4 teams. Cincinnati is led by F Brandon Vazquez with a team-high 9 goals. M Luciano Acosta, the MLS Player of the Month for June, has 6 goals and 6 assists.

As for the Vancouver Whitecaps, after losing 5 of 6 earlier in the season, they’ve improved the last several weeks. Vancouver has won 4 of its last 7 matches, 2 of which were on the road.

This will be its 1st road game after a 3-match homestand in which it went 1-1-1. Vancouver is led by 29-year-old Canadian F Lucas Cavallini with 6 goals, the only Whitecaps player with more than 2.

  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -145 | U: +120)

[tipico]

Prediction

FC Cincinnati 3, Vancouver Whitecaps 1

Money line (ML)

BET FC CINCINNATI -135.

Vancouver has been one of the worst road teams in the MLS. It has lost 3 of its last 5 on the road by more than 1 goal, including a 4-0 in its more recent away battle with Seattle.

On top of that, Vancouver doesn’t have many weapons, unlike Cincinnati which has star Brazilian F Brenner having come on strong along with Vazquez.

FCC has won 2 of its last 5 at home with 2 draws coming against 2 of the top 3 teams in the East.

They’ve only lost or drawn 2 games at home against a team outside of playoff position, and in both, they had as many or more expected goals. Considering both teams’ form as of late, I’d bet on FCC to come out on top.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN OVER 2.5 (-145).

There’s really no denying that the over is the better side in this match, but at this value, I’d consider it just a lean.

While Vancouver has allowed 31 goals on the season, it has scored just 20 goals in 19 matches. That said, its last 6 road games have gone over this total with 2 of their last 3 totaling 4 goals.

FCC has gone over this in 5 of their last 8 and went 3.5 goals in 4 of those 8. For the value, betting Over 3.5 +170 also has good value and could be worth a small play.

Both teams are in the bottom half of the league in shots against, so there could be a plethora of goals to be had on Wednesday evening.

D.C. United vs. Columbus Crew odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s D.C. United vs. Columbus Crew odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

D.C. United (5 wins, 10 losses, 2 draws) welcomes the Columbus Crew (6-5-7) to Audi Field Wednesday. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the D.C. United vs. Columbus Crew odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

After a tough start to the season, losing 3 of their first 7 and going on a 4-match scoreless streak, the Crew are starting to figure it out and have not lost since May 21. They’ve won 2 of their last 3 and are 3-0-1 in their last 4 road matches.

Columbus is led in scoring by F Derrick Etienne with 5 goals while 2021 All-Star M Lucas Zelarayan also helps balance the attack, having scored 3 on the season.

D.C. United is looking to rebound after a 7-0 road loss to Philadelphia. The Union were up 5-0 at the half. United is 3-5-1 at home this season. They have lost 4 of their last 5 and 2 of their last 3 home matches.

United just hired EPL legend Wayne Rooney as their manager, but that shouldn’t help their near-term woes. United is led in scoring by F Taxiarchis Fountas, who has 9 goals on the season.

D.C. United vs. Columbus Crew odds, lines, picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated Tuesday at 11:38 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: D.C. United +145 (bet $100 to win $145) | Columbus Crew +180 (bet $180 to win $180) | Draw +250
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -120 | U: +100)

[tipico]

Prediction

Columbus Crew 1, D.C. United 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN DRAW +250.

Both teams have been equally bad in their current situation. United has lost 2 of its last 3 home matches, one to Nashville and the other to NYCFC. A 7-0 loss doesn’t instill confidence either.

However, United is 4-0-0 against teams other than Columbus that also sit 5th through 9th on the Eastern Conference table. The Crew did beat United 3-0 earlier in the season, but United had more expected goals in that match.

Also, United’s weakness has come defensively, and that will be shadowed by a horrible Crew attack, tied for the 3rd-fewest goals in the conference.

Add it all together, and these sides don’t have much splitting them given this situation. I’ll play a draw given that.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (+100).

If it were up to Columbus, this would be a slow-paced game. It ranks in the bottom half of the league in total passes and total attacking assists.

Those are a few reasons why they have just 23 goals in 18 matches. Columbus has scored multiple goals in just 3 of their last 8 matches and has topped this total in just 3 of those as well.

D.C. United, which has allowed 10 goals in their last 2 matches, have scored multiple goals just once in their last 5 matches.

While their defense has struggled, their opponents’ expected goals have eclipsed 2 just 4 times. Considering they’ll be at home as well, I expect a better effort.

Combine it all, and I’ll take the Under 2.5 (+100).

Real Salt Lake vs. Colorado Rapids odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Real Salt Lake vs. Colorado Rapids odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

Real Salt Lake (8 wins, 5 losses, 5 draws) welcomes the Colorado Rapids (5-8-4) to Rio Tinto Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 10 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Real Salt Lake vs. Colorado Rapids odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Real Salt Lake has been one of the surprise teams of 2022, sitting third in the Western Conference. RSL is led by F Bobby Wood, who is tied with F Sergio Cordova and D Justen Glad for the most goals (3) on the club.

RSL is the only playoff contending team in the West without a positive goal differential, having scored 22 and allowed 22. RSL has yet to lose at home, having posted a 6-0-2 record at Rio Tinto Stadium.

As for the Rapids, they’ve disappointed after finishing atop the conference a season ago. Colorado’s defense has taken a step back, having allowed 24 goals in 17 matches. It’s scored just 19.

The Rapids are led in scoring by F Diego Rubio, who has 7 goals on the season. Colorado has lost 3 of its last 4 matches.

Check out Pro Soccer Wire: For the American soccer fan, USA TODAY Sports Media Group’s website provides a fresh look at the beautiful game.

Real Salt Lake vs. Colorado Rapids odds, lines, picks and predictions

Odds provided by Tipico Sportsbook; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list. Lines last updated at 5:46 p.m. ET.

  • Money line: Real Salt Lake +112 (bet $100 to win $112) | Colorado Rapids +250 (bet $100 to win $250) | Draw +240
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -112 | U: -108)

[tipico]

Prediction

Real Salt Lake 2, Colorado Rapids 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN REAL SALT LAKE (+112).

While the goal differential for RSL is even (at 0), what it has been able to do at home can’t be overlooked.

RSL is undefeated at home and have won 6 of 8 with 2 draws. It has impressive wins as well over teams like the LA Galaxy, Nashville, Seattle and Austin FC. RSL has won its last two at home.

As for Colorado, the opposite is true and equally as concerning. The Rapids have lost 5 of their last 6 on the road, while 3 of their last 4 road losses have been by 2 or more goals.

The odds are there for RSL because books seem hesitant to believe in RSL and still have hope for the Rapids. At plus-money, I’d heavily lean to REAL SALT LAKE (+112) to win outright.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (-112).

The Rapids have not been able to figure it out defensively like they did a season ago. They’ve allowed 3 goals in 3 of their last 4 matches. They’ve gone north of this total in 4 of their last 6.

RSL has gone over in 5 of its last 7.

Real Salt Lake’s most recent performance was a 3-2 loss to Minnesota. RSL also has the 7th most shots against, so despite having only given up 1.22 per game, the opportunities have been there for its opponents.

Couple both teams’ recent stretch of matches, and I’ll take the OVER 2.5 (-112) here.

Chicago Fire vs. Columbus Crew odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Chicago Fire vs. Columbus Crew odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Chicago Fire (4 wins, 9 losses, 5 draws) welcome the Columbus Crew (5-5-7) to Soldier Field Saturday. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Chicago Fire vs. Columbus Crew odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

It has been a disappointing start to the season for both clubs, each outside of playoff position in the Eastern Conference. As the Crew, they have drawn 3 of their last 4 and 4 of their last 8. They’re 2-2-5 on the road.

Columbus is led by 2021 All-Star M Lucas Zelarayán. He’s 1 of 4 players with 3 or more goals for the Crew. In 17 games, Columbus has scored 20 and allowed 18.

Chicago has been one of the few teams worse at scoring, and it’s the only side that averaged under a goal per game. The Fire have scored 16 goals in 18 matches. They’re led by former Swiss star M Xherdan Shaqiri.

Shaqiri and F Kacper Przybyłko are the only players that have scored more than 1 goal for the club this season. That said, Columbus is 3-2-3 at home with their main struggles on the road.

Chicago Fire vs. Columbus Crew odds, lines, picks and predictions

  • Money line: Chicago Fire +110 (bet $100 to win $110) | Columbus Crew +265 (bet $100 to win $265) | Draw +235
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: +102 | U: -125)

[tipico]

Prediction

Columbus Crew 1, Chicago Fire 0

Money line (ML)

BET TIE OR COLUMBUS CREW -150.

While betting on Columbus outright is risky, betting on the Crew to win or a draw is a completely different story. Columbus has only lost 2 games on the road, winning or drawing 7.

Against the East’s worst team, this is a wager worth considering. Also, their lone 2 road losses were to Philadelphia and New York (NYCFC) – both teams in the conference’s top 4.

Chicago has won 3 of 8 home games with 2 being against DC United and Sporting KC, who are both within the bottom 3 of their respective conference.

The Fire struggle to score and only have 1 multi-goal home performance. Chicago has lost 8 of its last 11, so it isn’t necessarily on top of its game right now, either.

While it is pricey, this is still a strong value.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (-125).

Neither of these teams has shown consistent attacking prowess. Columbus has gone Under this total in 5 of its last 7.

The Crew had a stretch earlier in the season with 4 straight scoreless matches and have failed to score in 2 of their last 3. They averaged just 1.18 goals per game and allow 1.06, so they have a competent defense as well.

The Fire have a similar story but even worse offensive performances.

They’ve gone Under in 3 of their last 4. In the Fire’s matches against the only other 2 East teams (Philly and NYCFC) to allow under 20 goals this season, there was 1 combined goal.

Given both teams have struggled to score, I’ll take the Under with ease here.

FC Cincinnati will get another tough test after drawing both the Philadelphia Union and New York City FC in 2 of its last 4 matches. FCC is unbeaten across its last 4 with a 1-0-3 record, having played 2 of the 4 on the road.

They’re led by captain M Luciano Acosta who was named the MLS Player of the Month in June. Acosta has 6 assists and 6 goals on the season, tied for the team points lead with F Brandon Vazquez, who has a team-high 8 goals and 4 assists.

The Red Bulls sit atop the Eastern Conference with 32 points in 19 matches. They’ve scored 29 goals and allowed 20, which is tied for the 2nd-best goal differential.

They’re led by 29-year-old Scottish F Lewis Morgan, who has 8 goals. The Red Bulls have won 4 of their last 6 and have been dominant on the road, posting a 6-3-1 record.

Prediction

FC Cincinnati 1, New York Red Bulls 1

Money line (ML)

LEAN DRAW +250.

While I wouldn’t put a full unit on it, this is my preferred bet of the game, with the reason being that FC Cincinnati has continued to prove this season  they can match whatever level its opponent is at.

They’ve drawn 3 of their last 4 games, all against teams in playoff position. Their lone win was against a team in playoff position as well. It’s been a season-defining stretch.

New York, on the other hand, hasn’t played top-tier competition, beating Sporting KC 1-0 and Atlanta 2-1 in its last 2. They haven’t beaten a team in playoff position since April 24, a 3-0 win over Orlando City.

With that in mind, FCC to win or draw at -210 has little value as the Red Bulls have a solid road record and sit atop the East. However, considering their struggles against top-tier sides, Draw +250 has terrific value.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN UNDER 2.5 (+110).

The Red Bulls have allowed 2 or more goals just 4 times this season.

They have one of the league’s best defenses, having allowed just 20 goals in 19 matches. They rank tied for the 3rd-fewest shots against, and they rank 3rd in interceptions.

Helping to kill build-ups and limit attacks, the Red Bulls should be able to limit FCC’s high-pace style of play. New York has gone under this total in 4 of its last 5 matches. FCC has gone under in 2 of its last 4.

They’ve scored 1.61 per game and allowed 1.78 per game, so their style of play and lack of defending make this just a lean. But, the under is certainly the preferred side.

Colorado Rapids vs. Austin FC odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Monday’s Colorado Rapids vs. Austin FC odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Colorado Rapids (5 wins, 7 losses, 4 draws) host Austin FC (9-4-4) Monday. Kickoff from DSG Park is scheduled for 9 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Colorado Rapids vs. Austin FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

After finishing with the most points in the Western Conference last season, Colorado has struggled to keep that same pace. It sits 12th in the West, having scored 17 goals and allowed 21 in 16 matches.

The Rapids haven’t received the same production from F Michael Barrios and F Jonathan Lewis this season. F Diego Rubio leads the team with 7 goals. Colorado’s defense is allowing .28 more goals per game than a season ago. The Rapids are 5-1-2 at home and are 0-6-2 on the road.

Austin FC, in its second season, has surprisingly pleased supporters. With 32 goals on the season, it sits only behind LAFC in goals per game in the West.

Austin sits 2nd in the West with 31 points in 17 matches. Austin has been impressive on the road, posting a 5-3-1 record. It has won 5 of its last 7 road matches and its last 2 away from Q2 Stadium.

  • Money line: Colorado Rapids -130 (bet $130 to win $100) | Austin FC +350 (bet $100 to win $350) | Draw +285
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -135 | U: +110)

[tipico]

Prediction

Colorado 1, Austin 1

Money line (ML)

BET TIE OR AUSTIN FC -107.

Austin has been the better all-around team this season. It’s been a difficult side to beat, having lost just 4 times which is tied with LAFC for the fewest in the conference.

Austin has won 3 of its last 4 road games, having defeated the top team in both conferences while on the road.

Colorado is a capable side, but the Rapids have been awful when attacking. They’re 1 of 3 teams in the West with a sub-1.1 goals per game average.

I’ll trust the better offense with a strong road resume to at least come out with a draw.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN UNDER 2.5 (+110).

Colorado’s defense has allowed multiple goals in 5 of 8 road matches, but at home, it’s that same defense that led the West a season ago.

They’ve gone under this total in 6 of 8 home matches, which include matches against LAFC and Seattle. Colorado and its opponent have combined for under 3 expected goals in all but 1 home match.

Austin is an attack-heavy side, but in its last 2 road matches, it has won 1-0, defying what it’s shown in the rest of its away games. Both teams also rank in the top half of the league in save rate.

New England Revolution vs. FC Cincinnati odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Sunday’s New England Revolution vs. FC Cincinnati odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

New England Revolution (6 wins, 5 loses, 6 draws) hosts FC Cincinnati (7-7-3) at Gillette Stadium Sunday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the New England Revolution vs. FC Cincinnati odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

FC Cincinnati is coming off a thrilling 4-4 draw at home against New York City FC. It was a disappointing result after FCC took a 3-0 lead in the first 40 minutes.

FCC is led by F Brandon Vazquez, who has 8 goals on the season. Fellow forward Brenner is coming off a hat trick. Cincinnati has lost twice in its last 9 games, one of which was a 3-2 defeat by New England.

As for New England, its most recent stretch of play is actually more impressive. The Revolution haven’t lost a game since April 23. They lost 5 of their first 8 prior to this stretch of unbeaten soccer.

New England has drawn 5 of its last 8. M Carles Gil leads the Revolution with 4 goals and 6 assists. He’s the team’s captain as well. F Adam Buksa is the main goalscorer for New England, having tallied 7 so far this season.

  • Money line: New England Revolution -145 (bet $145 to win $100) | FC Cincinnati +370 (bet $100 to win $370) | Draw +310
  • Over/Under: 2.5 (O: -175 | U: +140)

[tipico]

Prediction

New England Revolution 2, FC Cincinnati 2

Money line (ML)

LEAN DRAW +310.

Both teams have been prone to playing to the level of their competition.

FCC welcomed NYCFC and drew the club tied for the top spot in the conference. Just 3 games ago, they drew Philadelphia, another club tied for first in the East.

As noted, while New England drew 1 of its first 9 matches, it has increased its consistency, helping get it back into playoff position. The Revolution have drawn 5 of their last 8.

In the first battle between the 2 sides, they both had .7 expected goals. It doesn’t get closer than that despite the Revolution coming out on top. With all that in mind, a draw at these odds has good value.

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN ALTERNATE OVER 3.5 (+135).

FC Cincinnati plays with pace and isn’t great at defending, something New England can also say. Since losing GK Matt Turner in the offseason, the Revolution’s defense hasn’t returned to the same form.

They’ve allowed 26 goals in 17 games.

New England has gone over this total in 3 of its last 8. The Revs have scored multiple goals in 9 of their last 12. They carry their offensive weight, as will FCC.

Cincinnati has gone over in 3 of its last 5. There were 5 goals the last time these teams met. FCC and New England are tied for the 3rd-most goals in the East, both having scored 27.

FCC has scored more than once in 4 of its last 6.
