FC Cincinnati vs. Chicago Fire odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s FC Cincinnati vs. Chicago Fire odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

FC Cincinnati (11 wins, 8 losses, 13 draws) welcomes the Chicago Fire (9-15-8) for its final home game of the regular season at TQL Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview Tipico Sportsbook‘s lines around the FC Cincinnati vs. Chicago Fire odds, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

FC Cincinnati can lock up a playoff spot for the first time in club history with a win. It has lost just 1 game since May 28. FCC has drawn 11 of their last 16 games.

It is led by F Brandon Vazquez, who has 16 goals on the season, but his recent cold streak has helped fellow teammate F Brenner catch up as he has 15 now. Captain M Lucho Acosta leads the roster with 11 assists.

As for the Fire, it is firmly outside of playoff contention sitting in 12th place and 10 points behind the 7th place Inter Miami. They’ve scored 35 goals in 32 games, which is where the team’s main struggles come from.

Former Swiss star M Xherdan Shaqiri has scored 7 goals this season, leading the team. Also, 18-year-old F Jáder Durán comes in second on the Fire with 6 goals.

Prediction

FC Cincinnati 2, Chicago Fire 2

Money line (ML)

SPRINKLE DRAW (+330).

While FC Cincinnati has been playing well as of late, especially at home, it has consistently drawn opponents.

Even though they’ve won 3 of their last 5, they’ve had a ton of draws recently, and it has been against top-tier sides like NYCFC and lowly clubs like Vancouver and Atlanta.

Chicago has drawn 2 of its last 5 and has been within an expected goal of its opponent in 6 of its last 7, so it, despite having little chance to make the playoffs, has been competitive.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET OVER 2.5 (-180).

With the Fire likely to put out a high-potential lineup, there should be hope they find some holes in the FCC defense, one which has allowed the 4th-most goals in the conference.

Players like Duran should be able to break through and have shown promise in the minutes given. He has played at least 70 minutes in the team’s last 3 games.

He should get run and is averaging the most goals per 90 minutes on the team. For FCC, Brenner and Vazquez have been on fire as of late. FCC has scored multiple goals in 4 of its last 6.

I’m not sure I’d play this up to 3.5 for the better value, but I do like it despite the juice here.

Columbus Crew vs. Chicago Fire odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Columbus Crew vs. Chicago Fire odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Columbus Crew (9 wins, 6 losses, 12 draws) welcome the Chicago Fire (8-13-7) to Lower.com Field Saturday. Kickoff is set for 5:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Columbus Crew vs. Chicago Fire odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

The Crew come into the home match desperately needing to send Chicago home without any points. Columbus is playing more of an early evening match with Ohio State playing at 7:30 p.m. ET close by.

That shouldn’t impact Columbus, a side that is 6-4-4 at home this season. The Crew are led by star M Lucas Zelarayán, who has 8 goals and 5 assists. They also recently added F Cucho, who has 8 goals in 8 starts.

As for the Fire, they are sitting 2nd-to-last in the East with a -10 goal differential, having only scored 28 goals on the season. Chicago is led by F Kacper Przybyłko with 5 goals on the season.

Chicago is just 3-8-3 on the road this season and has lost 3 of its last 4 matches. The Fire may turn to Columbian 18-year-old F Jhon Durán for scoring. He has 3 goals in 9 starts (21 appearances).

Prediction

Columbus Crew 2, Chicago Fire 0

Money line (ML)

BET COLUMBUS CREW (-105).

The Crew will be coming into his battle with a bit more motivation than the Fire. They need to leave with 3 points or else risk dropping out of playoff position.

Columbus is 2-0-1 against the bottom 2 teams in the East, having taken down Chicago on the road 3-2 earlier in the year. The Crew have won 5 of their last 12 matches.

This game should be more about the Fire’s struggles, having dropped 3 of their last 4. They haven’t scored in their last 3 games and have allowed 8 goals in their last 4.

Couple the motivation and recent play of each club, and I’ll take the Crew (-105).

Over/Under (O/U)

LEAN UNDER 2.5 (+110).

The Fire haven’t scored in 3 matches and have gone under this total in all 3. They don’t play at a quick pace and don’t have the goal scorers to put many attacks together. Chicago has the fewest goals scored in the conference.

Similarly, the Crew don’t play at a quick pace and have gone under this total in 2 of their last 4. Columbus hasn’t had a game where it has had more than 2 expected goals since March.

While it has the midfield play to win and even compete with top-tier sides, it isn’t a score-heavy club, averaging just 1.32 goals per game and allowing just 1.11.

Chicago Fire vs. Columbus Crew odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Chicago Fire vs. Columbus Crew odds and lines, with MLS picks and predictions.

The Chicago Fire (4 wins, 9 losses, 5 draws) welcome the Columbus Crew (5-5-7) to Soldier Field Saturday. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Chicago Fire vs. Columbus Crew odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

It has been a disappointing start to the season for both clubs, each outside of playoff position in the Eastern Conference. As the Crew, they have drawn 3 of their last 4 and 4 of their last 8. They’re 2-2-5 on the road.

Columbus is led by 2021 All-Star M Lucas Zelarayán. He’s 1 of 4 players with 3 or more goals for the Crew. In 17 games, Columbus has scored 20 and allowed 18.

Chicago has been one of the few teams worse at scoring, and it’s the only side that averaged under a goal per game. The Fire have scored 16 goals in 18 matches. They’re led by former Swiss star M Xherdan Shaqiri.

Shaqiri and F Kacper Przybyłko are the only players that have scored more than 1 goal for the club this season. That said, Columbus is 3-2-3 at home with their main struggles on the road.

Prediction

Columbus Crew 1, Chicago Fire 0

Money line (ML)

BET TIE OR COLUMBUS CREW -150.

While betting on Columbus outright is risky, betting on the Crew to win or a draw is a completely different story. Columbus has only lost 2 games on the road, winning or drawing 7.

Against the East’s worst team, this is a wager worth considering. Also, their lone 2 road losses were to Philadelphia and New York (NYCFC) – both teams in the conference’s top 4.

Chicago has won 3 of 8 home games with 2 being against DC United and Sporting KC, who are both within the bottom 3 of their respective conference.

The Fire struggle to score and only have 1 multi-goal home performance. Chicago has lost 8 of its last 11, so it isn’t necessarily on top of its game right now, either.

While it is pricey, this is still a strong value.

Over/Under (O/U)

BET UNDER 2.5 (-125).

Neither of these teams has shown consistent attacking prowess. Columbus has gone Under this total in 5 of its last 7.

The Crew had a stretch earlier in the season with 4 straight scoreless matches and have failed to score in 2 of their last 3. They averaged just 1.18 goals per game and allow 1.06, so they have a competent defense as well.

The Fire have a similar story but even worse offensive performances.

They’ve gone Under in 3 of their last 4. In the Fire’s matches against the only other 2 East teams (Philly and NYCFC) to allow under 20 goals this season, there was 1 combined goal.

Given both teams have struggled to score, I’ll take the Under with ease here.

Chicago Fire FC at Nashville SC odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Chicago Fire FC at Nashville SC odds and lines, with MLS betting picks, tips and best bets.

In one of many MLS games Saturday, Chicago Fire FC (3 wins, 7 losses, 2 draws) travel further south to take on Nashville SC (4-1-7) at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn. Kickoff is set for 8:30 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Nashville SC vs. Chicago Fire FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

The Fire had a rough start to the season, but they’ve been playing well as of late.

After a tough loss to FC Cincinnati at home, the Fire have been ironically on fire, scoring nine goals in three matches. They’ve won two of their last three.

However, they’ll be taking on a surging opponent in Nashville SC. Nashville has scored seven in their last three matches and are on a four-match unbeaten streak.

If all things go their way, Nashville could bounce up to second in the East with a win.

Prediction

Nashville SC 1, Chicago Fire 1

Money line (ML)

“LEAN” to a DRAW +280 as the best value on the money line. The thought process is relatively simple – the Fire are playing well and Nashville has shown consistency in playing down to their opponent.

While Nashville is the better team on paper, they haven’t played like it since returning from the international break.

They’ve gone 2-1-2 with one of those wins against the East’s worst team Toronto FC. Their other win was via a second-minute goal in a match with minimal attacking.

Taking on a surging Fire team that has been hitting their stride since the international break, it’s not going to be an easy home victory for Nashville. The only good value on the money line is the draw, and it certainly is a strong possibility.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the UNDER 2.5 (+110) because, despite the Fire’s hot streak, they’ve been relatively poor in the attacking third this season. Yes, they’ve averaged three goals per game over their last three. Take those away, and they scored four goals in nine games.

Even with their impressive play their goals per game is just over one. They had one goal in seven matches before this recent hot streak, and I think their recent success is swaying these odds.

The Under has hit in three of Nashville’s last five games. They’ve allowed just 13 goals in 12 matches.

Given Chicago’s hot streak, these odds are a tad inflated making the Under the best value when betting the total.

Philadelphia Union at Chicago Fire FC odds, picks and prediction

Previewing Saturday’s Philadelphia Union at Chicago Fire FC odds and lines, with MLS betting picks, tips and best bets.

The Philadelphia Union (5 wins, 2 losses, 3 draws) travel to the Windy City to take on the Chicago Fire FC (1-7-1) Saturday at Soldier Field. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET. Below, we preview the Philadelphia Union at Chicago Fire FC odds and lines, and make our best MLS bets, picks and predictions.

Coming off a home loss to FC Cincinnati Wednesday, the Fire may have hit their season-low. With just 1 win in 9 matches, the lone positive is that both their win and draw were at home.

The Union are coming into this match looking to keep pace with Orlando City SC, who downed Inter Miami CF 2-1 Friday night. Philadelphia hasn’t lost in 7 matches and kicked off that streak off with a 2-0 win over Chicago May 8. The Union are 1-0-1 since the international break.

Philadelphia Union at Chicago Fire FC: Odds, picks and predictions

Odds via BetMGM; access USA TODAY Sports’ betting odds for a full list. Lines last updated at 10:15 a.m. ET.

  • Money line: Philadelphia Union +140 (bet $100 to win $140) | Chicago Fire +160 (bet $100 to win $160) | Draw +260

Prediction

Philadelphia Union 1, Chicago Fire 0

Money line (ML)

BET on the PHILADELPHIA UNION (+140) because they’re rolling and Chicago seemingly doesn’t have any idea how to defend or attack.

Getting the Union on a plus-money bet seems almost unfair. Chicago has just 4 goals on the season and has given up 14.

The Union have just 7 goals against and are tied with Orlando and Columbus for the fewest goals allowed in the Eastern Conference. Expecting the worst offense not to score on the best defense is a bet I’m willing to take.

Combine that with Philadelphia averaging over a goal per game and Chicago giving up over a goal per game, and I’d ride with the Union to defeat the Fire.

Play our new free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under (O/U)

BET on the UNDER 2.5 (+115) because neither team has a great attack and the Union’s backline is dominant. While Philadelphia is led by F Cory Burke, he has just 3 goals on the season.

He’s a solid option, but he’s yet to be a dominant performer. This team is among the best because it gives up little with Ds Jakob Glesnes and Jack Elliott holding down the backline.

The Union rank in the top five of MLS in save percentage and interceptions while ranking in the bottom 10 in shots on target. They get the job done but not in high-scoring affairs.

The Fire have little going for them and will likely play at Philadelphia’s pace. For those reasons, I’d go with the Under, especially with the value given.
