Tennessee softball wins series against Missouri.

No. 8 Tennessee (21-4, 2-0 SEC) defeated No. 11 Missouri (22-5, 2-3 SEC), 8-2, Saturday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

The Lady Vols completed a Southeastern Conference series win against Missouri.

Tennessee also won its 13th consecutive contest and improved to 10-0 at home in 2024.

Taylor Pannell went 1-for-4 and hit a grand slam, while Bella Faw went 1-for-3 and hit a home run and scored three runs for Tennessee. Faw hit a home run in her second consecutive game.

Kiki Milloy went 1-for-3, recording three runs and one double, while McKenna Gibson went 2-for-3 and totaled two RBIs and one run.

Payton Gottshall (8-2) pitched a complete game for Tennessee. She allowed two runs, three hits and seven walks, while recording 10 strikeouts.

Tennessee opens conference play with run-rule victory against Missouri.

No. 8 Tennessee (20-4, 1-0 SEC) defeated No. 11 Missouri (22-4, 2-2 SEC), 9-0 in five innings, Friday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

The Lady Vols scored seven runs in the first inning en route to earning its 11th consecutive win.

Giulia Koutsoyanopulos went 1-for-2 and hit a grand slam, while Bella Faw hit a home run for Tennessee in its SEC opener.

Kiki Milloy went 2-for-3 and recorded two doubles and one run, while Taylor Pannell went 2-for-3 and totaled one RBI and one run for the Lady Vols.

Karlyn Pickens pitched a five-inning complete game for the Lady Vols. She allowed two hits and one walk, while recording five strikeouts.

Tennessee softball defeats Howard for 11th consecutive win.

No. 8 Tennessee (19-4) defeated Howard (16-6), 11-4, Monday at Nationals Youth Academy in Washington, D.C.

Monday’s win is Tennessee’s 11th consecutive. The Lady Vols scored nine runs in the second inning.

Sophia Nugent went 4-for-5, recording two runs, one RBI and one stolen base for the Lady Vols.

Giulia Koutsoyanopulos went 2-for-5 and recorded one double, one triple, two runs and three RBIs for Tennessee.

Laura Mealer went 2-for-3, recording two RBIs, one run and one stolen base, while McKenna Gibson totaled two hits, one run and one RBI.

Payton Gottshall (8-2) pitched six innings of scoreless relief en route to earning a win. She allowed three hits and one walk, while recording seven strikeouts.

Chali Orsini started for the Lady Vols and pitched one inning. She allowed four runs, four hits and two walks.

No. 8 Tennessee (16-4) opened play in the Tennessee Invitational Friday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

The Lady Vols run-ruled Missouri State (3-11), 16-0 in five innings. Tennessee also defeated South Dakota (10-11), 6-0, in game No. 2.

Laura Mealer went 3-for-3, recording three home runs and five RBIs, while Kiki Milloy went 3-for-4 with four runs and one RBI for Tennessee.

McKenna Gibson went 3-for-3, recording one double, four RBIs and two runs, while Zaida Puni went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run for the Lady Vols.

Tennessee’s Payton Gottshall (6-2) pitched four innings, recording five strikeouts. Charli Orsini pitched one inning and recorded one strikeout.

In game No. 2, Mealer and Puni each hit one home run, while Milloy went 2-for-4, recording one double, one RBI, one run and one stolen base.

Karlyn Pickens pitched a complete game for Tennessee, recording 13 strikeouts.

No. 9 Tennessee (12-4) won two games in the Tennessee Classic on Sunday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

Tennessee defeated Stetson (7-13) and Longwood (6-10).

The Lady Vols outlasted the Hatters, 3-2, and run-ruled the Lancers, 12-1.

Against Stetson, Destiny Rodriguez went 1-for-3 and hit a winning RBI on a solo home run in the sixth inning.

Kiki Milloy went 1-for-1, recording two runs, three stolen bases and one walk, while Rylie West went 1-for-2 for one double and one RBI.

Zaida Puni hit an RBI on a groudout for Tennessee.

Karlyn Pickens (6-2) pitched 2.1 innings of scoreless relief. She allowed one hit and one walk, while recording five strikeouts.

In Tennessee’s second game, the Lady Vols defeated the Lancers in five innings.

Milloy hit two home runs and recoded three RBIs, while West hit a grand slam and McKenna Gibson hit a two-run home run in the third inning.

Payton Gottshall (5-2) pitched a complete game. She allowed one run, four hits, while recording six strikeouts.

Tennessee concludes tournament play on Monday against Longwood. First pitch is scheduled for noon EST.

No. 9 Tennessee (10-4) opened its home portion of the 2024 schedule with a pair of five-inning victories in the Tennessee Classic on Saturday at Sherri Parker Lee Stadium.

The Lady Vols run-ruled Stetson (6-10), 8-0.

Kiki Milloy went 1-for-2 and hit a solo home run, while Zaida Puni hit a three-run home run for Tennessee. Laura Mealer also hit a three-run triple.

Tennessee’s Karlyn Pickens pitched a five-inning complete game. She allowed one hit and recorded three strikeouts.

The Lady Vols also defeated Brown (3-4), 9-1.

McKenna Gibson went 2-for-3, recording one home run, one double, one run and three RBIs. Milloy went 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBIs, two stolen bases and one triple. Destiny Rodriguez also hit a two-run home run for Tennessee.

Payton Gottshall (4-2) pitched 2.1 innings of scoreless relief and recorded three strikeouts to earn a win.

Stanford and Texas defeat Lady Vols in the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational.

No. 2 Tennessee (4-2) opened play in the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational on Friday at Eddie C. Moore Complex in Clearwater, Florida.

The Lady Vols lost to No.7 Stanford, 1-0, despite outhitting the Cardinal, 5-2, in the contest.

Tennessee’s Payton Gotshall (2-1) pitched a complete game, allowing one run, two hits and three walks. She recorded four strikeouts in six innings.

McKenna Gibson went 2-for-3, recording one double for Tennessee.

The Lady Vols also lost to No. 3 Texas, 2-1.

Sophia Newgent went 2-for-3, recording one RBI for the Lady Vols. Nugent’s RBI single scored Rylie West.

Karlyn Pickens (2-1) pitched a complete game. She allowed two runs (one earned), six hits and three walks, while recording six strikeouts and four wild pitches.

No. 2 Tennessee (3-0) completed a doubleheader sweep against No. 19 Baylor (0-2) Friday at Getterman Stadium in Waco, Texas.

The Lady Vols (3-0) defeated Baylor, 3-2, in game No. 1 and won game No. 2, 9-1.

In the first game, Baylor led, 1-0, in the third inning and extended its advantage to, 2-0, in the fifth inning.

Tennessee trailed, 2-1, in the sixth inning after McKenna Gibson hit an RBI single. The Lady Vols led, 3-2, in the seventh inning after Destiny Rodriguez hit a two-run home run.

Tennessee sophomore pitcher Karlyn Pickens (1-0) earned the win. She recorded four strikeouts.

In the second game, Tennessee run-ruled Baylor in six innings.

Rylie West went 2-for-2, recording one home run, one double, four RBIs and two walks. Kiki Milloy went 1-for-3, recording one home run and two runs for the Lady Vols.

Payton Gottshall (2-0) earned the win as she pitched 4.1 innings. She allowed four hits and recorded six strikeouts.

Charli Orsini started for the Lady Vols. She recorded one strikeout.

Five Lady Vols receive preseason all-SEC softball honors

Five Lady Vols receive preseason all-SEC softball honors.

Five Tennessee softball players were named to the 2024 preseason All-Southeastern Conference Team.

Tennessee led SEC teams with five selections, chosen by the conference’s coaches.

Tennessee was represented on the team by pitchers Payton Gottshall and Karlyn Pickens, infielders Zaida Puni and McKenna Gibson and outfielder Kiki Milloy.

Gottshall (16-2) led the Lady Vols’ pitching staff with 29 appearances. She recorded a 1.65 ERA and 110 strikeouts in 110 innings.

Pickens pitched five complete games and recorded a 9-7 record.

Puni was a First-Team All-SEC standout last season. She was also a member of the Women’s College World Series All-Tournament Team.

Gibson started all 61 games for the Lady Vols last season, recording career-highs in home runs (15), RBIs (60), hits (59), runs (36) and doubles (11).

Milloy was a First-Team All-SEC performer and a member of the Women’s College World Series All-Tournament Team. She led all players with 25 home runs, which is also a Tennessee single-season record.

Three Lady Vols earn all-region softball honors

Three Lady Vols earn all-region softball honors.

Three Tennessee softball players have been named to the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association’s All-Region Team.

McKenna Gibson, Kiki Milloy and Ashley Rogers earned first-team honors when the NFCA announced its all-region teams, which honors players from the association’s 10 regions.

Gibson, the Lady Vols’ first baseman, recorded a .380 batting average, 15 home runs and 57 RBIs ahead of the NCAA Tournament.

Milloy enters the NCAA Tournament leading college softball with 23 home runs.

The senior is Tennessee’s leadoff hitter and holds the school’s all-time single-season record for home runs. In 2023, she was honored by the NFCA for the third time.

Rogers (16-1), a graduate student pitcher, recorded 160 strikeouts ahead of the NCAA Tournament.
