Look: Best photos from Browns loss to Los Angeles Chargers

Take a look at some of the best photos from Browns vs. Chargers

The Cleveland Browns may have lost a battle with the Los Angeles Chargers, but they looked good in those color rush brown uniforms. All joking aside, the loss was a heartbreaker, and this is just a method of coping until we can tune back in for another tight game next week against the New England Patriots.

Now sitting at 2-3, the Browns really need a win to get back to .500, and probably need two more wins after that in their first 11 games. It helps to stay at home, but the Browns have a lot of work to do before former head coach Bill Belichick and his team return to town.

Anyway, here are some cute pictures to keep you busy until then.

Instant reaction: Browns lose on bad goal-line interception, 2 missed kicks

The Browns had more than their fair share of chances to beat the Chargers, but fell victim to a bad goaline interception and 2 missed kicks

There were so many opportunities for the Cleveland Browns to come away as the winners against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 5. Anytime your playcaller and offense get you in position to score seven separate times, there is no reason to lose. But at the end of the day, the Browns fell to the Chargers 30-28.

Even after quarterback Jacoby Brissett displayed horrible situational awareness and threw a goal-line interception when he could have run for the first down, the Browns were in great position to come away with the lead late in the game. Then the Browns defense bucked up and got a fourth-down stop, and the offense got into field goal range.

Rookie Cade York missed the potential game-winning 54-yarder, however — his second miss of the game. This is a hard game to pin on the playcaller, head coach Kevin Stefanski, as the Browns had plenty of opportunities to put points on the board.

The Browns continued to find success on the ground as Nick Chubb rushed for 134 yards and another pair of touchdowns. Kareem Hunt added another 47 yards and a touchdown on 11 touches.

Brissett played an overall fine game, but it was marred by the late interception. He finished 21-of-34 for 230 yards and a touchdown otherwise. Brissett found his two favorite targets — wide receiver Amari Cooper and tight end David Njoku — with frequency. Cooper had seven catches for 76 yards and a touchdown, while Njoku added another 88 yards on six catches.

Nobody cares about the stats, however, because the Cleveland defense continued to play poorly against the 30th-most efficient running attack coming into the game. They held Chargers QB Justin Herbert to just 228 yards through the air but allowed running back Austin Ekeler to scamper for 173 yards and a touchdown. The defense gave up 238 rushing yards in all.

The Browns must now prepare for the New England Patriots after dropping another winnable game and falling to 2-3 on the season.

Browns CB Denzel Ward leaves game with concussion vs. Chargers

The Browns may be without Denzel Ward the rest of the way as he has left the game with a concussion.

The Cleveland Browns may be without starting cornerback Denzel Ward the rest of the way as he has left the game with a potential concussion. For a defense that is already struggling this is not a break they can afford.

Offensively, the Browns have been able to move the ball at will, scoring four times today, including two Nick Chubb touchdown runs. They are keeping the scoring pace with Justin Herbert and the Chargers, but this game has the making of one that will come down to who has the ball last.

Perhaps he can come back from the protocol, but it is not looking good for Ward.

WATCH: Kareem Hunt puts the Browns back on top vs. Chargers

The Browns are back in front after Kareem Hunt finds the endzone against the Chargers

As this back-and-forth firework show continues, the Cleveland Browns have regained the lead as running back Kareem Hunt has found the endzone. Now up 28-27 entering the fourth quarter against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Browns will need their defense to come up with a big stop or two down the stretch. This has been the third rushing touchdown on the day for the Browns after Nick Chubb scored twice.

Which is a tough ask given their efforts on the ground.

This has the makings of another game that will come down to the wire for the Browns, which has been their trend all season as each of their games have come down to the final drive. Can they hang on and advance to 3-2?

WATCH: Nick Chubb scores second touchdown of game vs. Chargers

Nick Chubb travels back to the endzone to put the Browns back overtop on the Chargers as halftime nears.

The Cleveland Browns are now back up by four after Nick Chubb finds the endzone for the second time. Now leading by a score of 21-17 with halftime approaching, Chubb scampered in from two yards out after Jacoby Brissett sold out for a roughing the passer call on third down.

Defense is optional today as the Browns and Chargers look to be reinacting last years game that combined for 89 points. There is plenty of time left on the clock for more fireworks here before halftime as well.

Can the defense get a stop and limit the Los Angeles offense before heading into the locker room?

WATCH: Jacoby Brissett finds Amari Cooper to put Browns up 14-0

The Browns now hold a 14-0 lead over the Chargers after Jacoby Brissett hit Amari Cooper for an 11 yard strike.

The Cleveland Browns are now up two scores on the Los Angeles Chargers after quarterback Jacoby Brissett connected with Amari Cooper on an 11 yard strike. Brissett is now a perfect 5-for-5 through two drives (and even got another quarterback sneak in) for 53 yards and a touchdown.

Going up two scores, even this early in the game, is huge for a team that needs to continue to stay ahead of schedule. The Browns have been great all year on first and third downs, and this has stayed true today against the Chargers. This is their second score after Nick Chubb found the endzone on their first possession.

Stay peeled here for more live updates as the Chargers have a hole to dig themselves out of.

WATCH: Nick Chubb busts 41 yard touchdown run vs. Chargers

Nick Chubb has put the Browns on the board first against the Chargers after busting a 41 yard run

The Cleveland Browns strike first as Nick Chubb gets off to a hot start against the Los Angeles Chargers. On the opening drive of the game, the Browns drive the field and cap it off with a 41 yard scamper by the best running back in the NFL.

In desperate need of a bounce-back win, the Browns need to stay in front of the sticks and the scoreboard. They are off to an excellent start in this one as they are currently up 7-0 over the Chargers.

Infamous midges return to Cleveland for Browns vs. Chargers

The infamous midges that attacked Joba Chamberlain in the 2007 ALDS have made an appearance at FirstEnergy Stadium for Browns vs. Chargers

It appears the midges have found the wrong stadium off of Lake Erie. Just like their appearance in the 2007 ALDS, where they infamously attacked New York Yankees’ pitcher Joba Chamberlain, the midges have now found their way to FirstEnergy Stadium as the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Chargers get set for war.

One Chargers player even told Tom Withers of the Associated Press they are “terrible” on the field. The Chargers are already beat up on the field as the Browns get healthy, but now the midges add another element of surprise to this close matchup (on paper).

Just in time for the Guardians to take on the Yankees this upcoming week, it is almost deja vu in Cleveland.

Browns announce Demetric Felton, 7 other inactives vs. Chargers

The Browns have announced eight inactives, including Demetric Felton, against the Los Angeles Chargers

As the Cleveland Browns and Los Angeles Chargers get set for battle, the list of inactives has dropped. As the Browns announce eight inactives, running back/wide receiver Demetric Felton is among them. After elevating Chester Rogers from the practice squad again this week to return kicks, Felton’s role has been reduced to ashes.

Rogers can be elevated one more time from the practice squad before the Browns have to sign him to the active roster to have him dress on Sundays. One has to wonder if Felton’s roster spot could be on shaky ground in a week or two.

The other inactives listed for today’s game are quarterback Kellen Mond, wide receiver Michael Woods II, safety Richard LeCounte, offensive linemen Joe Haeg and Chris Hubbard, and tight end Miller Forristall.

Myles Garrett, Jadeveon Clowney, Taven Bryan all back vs. Chargers

The Browns are getting all three of their missing defensive linemen back vs. Chargers

It is gameday and the Cleveland Browns will get a massive boost along their defensive trenches as all three starters who missed out a week ago with start against the Los Angeles Chargers. We knew Myles Garrett would be active earlier this week, but both questionables in defensive end Jadeveon Clowney and defensive tackle Taven Bryan will return to the starting lineup today.

Going against the 30th most efficient team on the ground, a poor run defense may catch a break. The stars may just be aligning for the Browns to advance to 3-2 on the season as they could be catching the beat up Chargers at the right time.
