OKC Thunder news: Vit Krejci underwent knee surgery

The Oklahoma City Thunder announced on Tuesday that Vit Krejci underwent successful knee surgery.

The Oklahoma City Thunder announced on Tuesday that second-year player Vit Krejci underwent successful arthroscopic surgery. This explains why Krejci was not available during Thunder Exit Interviews on Tuesday. Krejci and Mike Muscala were the only two players who were not in attendance.

Krejci mentioned during the season that he was likely going to get his knee scoped in the offseason and two days after the regular-season finale against the LA Clippers, that was the case. Krejci is expected to be ready for the start of the 2022-23 regular season.

Krejci ended his season averaging 6.2 points and 3.4 rebounds in 30 games this season.

Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett day to day with knee sprain

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett is day to day Week 11 against the Arizona Cardinals with a knee sprain he recently sustained.

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Tyler Lockett popped up on Monday’s estimated practice participation report with a knee injury just one day after the loss to the Los Angeles Rams.

The Seahawks are set to square off against the Cardinals Thursday night and Lockett’s absence would be a real concern for Seattle’s offense.

Coach Pete Carroll was asked about Lockett’s injury during Monday afternoon’s press conference.

“He’s got a bit of a knee sprain,” Carroll told reporters. “In general, he’s already had it checked out and MRI’d and all that kind of stuff. So he’s in a little bit of discomfort, little bit of swelling today but it’s not a serious knee injury.

“We’ll look to see how he does day to day and take it to Thursday.”

The Seahawks are set to return to practice Tuesday morning to begin to prepare to face off against the Cardinals.

Jordyn Brooks frustrated after missing 2 games due to ankle sprain

Seattle Seahawks linebacker Jordyn Brooks told reporters that he was frustrated to miss two games due to a knee sprain he had in Week 3.

Linebacker Jordyn Brooks missed two games with a knee sprain he suffered in Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys but received significant playing time in the Seahawks’ 37-34 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 7. Despite getting his chance, Brooks stated that missing a mere two games so far in his rookie year was frustrating because he craved every opportunity to show his team what he can bring to the table.

“It was definitely frustrating,” Brooks told reporters. “Somebody that’s competitive as me, just wanting to get in there, wanting to get in there and prove yourself. But I’m all about timing, God’s timing. So I was patient with it, God saw me through it and, the time is now, so let’s get the ball rolling.”

Brooks played his first full game in Week 7 and made a few plays, including seven tackles (three solo and one for loss). The linebacker stated that he enjoyed being on the field for a complete game for the first time since his days at Texas Tech.

“I was just telling somebody in the locker room, that was my first game playing a full game since college, so it was fun just getting back out there on the field and make some plays,” Brooks said.

It is no exaggeration to say that the Seahawks defense has struggled immensely this season and dealing with injuries to key players certainly doesn’t help matters. However, Brooks expressed optimism for the defense down the stretch.

“I’m going to do everything I can to do my 1/11th on this defense to help us get to where I know we can be,” he said. “It’s just one step at a time, it’s still early in the season. That’s what keeps my hopes high about this defense getting to where we know we can be.”

Brooks will get another chance to prove himself when the Seahawks play the 49ers at CenturyLink Field on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 1:25 p.m. PT.

Seahawks running back Chris Carson cleared to play Week 4 in Miami

After suffering a knee sprain, Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson has been cleared to play Week 4 in Miami against the Dolphins.

The Seattle Seahawks will have their starting running back on the field Sunday morning when they square off against the Miami Dolphins Week 4. Carson, who suffered a knee sprain in last weekend’s contest against the Dallas Cowboys, has made it through the week and been cleared to play.

“Chris Carson had an excellent week, practiced today and yesterday . . . and was able to really show he was ready,” coach Pete Carroll told KIRO’s Dori Monson on Friday morning. “He just bounced right back so we’re really happy about that.”

Carson was rolled up on by Cowboys defensive tackle Trysten Hill and the fear was that his injury would be a serious one. Seattle can now breathe a collective sigh of relief.

Unfortunately, the Seahawks will be without a couple of key members of their defense on Sunday, as Carroll confirmed both linebacker Jordyn Brooks (knee) and safety Jamal Adams (groin) will be out for the Week-4 matchup in Miami.

MRI confirms Chris Carson’s injury is only a minor knee sprain

An MRI has confirmed that Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson only sustained a minor knee sprain Week 3 against the Dallas Cowboys

The Seattle Seahawks received some good news Monday morning, indicating their starting running back, Chris Carson, did not sustain a major injury in Sunday’s matchup after all.

Carson was rolled up on during the game and the fear was that the injury was significant.

NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported the good news via Twitter.

“Sigh of relief for the Seahawks: An MRI confirmed RB Chris Carson’s ligaments are intact and it’s just a minor knee sprain, source said,” Pelissero tweeted. “In fact, he’s got a chance to be ready for this week’s game at Miami.”

Coach Pete Carroll should have additional updates and confirmation on Carson’s status this afternoon during his 3:00 p.m. press conference.

Report: Seahawks fear linebacker Bruce Irvin could have ACL tear

The Seattle Seahawks fear that linebacker Bruce Irvin sustained an ACL tear, not just a knee sprain Week 2 against the New England Patriots.

Sunday was a rough day around the National Football League, as a number of players succumbed to what could be season-ending injuries. Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bruce Irvin could now be one of those players.

“Seahawks fear that OLB Bruce Irvin tore his ACL, per source, and he will undergo more tests to confirm if fears are warranted,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter tweeted Monday morning.

Irvin’s original prognosis after the game indicated an injury much less severe.

“He has a sprained knee,” coach Pete Carroll had told reporters. “That’s the word, that’s what I was told. He was walking around and in the locker room afterward. So, we’ll see what happens there.”

Carroll is scheduled to speak to the media Monday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. PT and could have a further update by then.

Darius Bazley leaves game vs. Celtics with sprained knee, will not return

He appeared to sprain his right knee after making a layup in the final minute of the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Celtics.

The Thunder were just back to playing at full strength.

Darius Bazley suffered a knee injury in the first quarter of Oklahoma City’s game against the Boston Celtics on Sunday afternoon.

The injury happened in the final minute of the first quarter when Bazley made a driving layup to tie the game at 28.

Oklahoma City’s Twitter accounted tweeted out the play before announcing the injury.

Off the pass from Terrance Ferguson, Bazley took it to the hoop, sidestepping both Enes Kanter and Grant Williams. He looks to pull up awkwardly, raising his right knee and going to the off-hand to finish the shot.

Bazley can be seen visibly limping as the teams run back down the court. He left for the locker room for further evaluation.

The Thunder announced after halftime that it was a right knee sprain and that Bazley would be out for the rest of the game.

The basket was Bazley’s only make from the floor. He played just three minutes going 1-of-2 from the floor and 1-2 from the free-throw line.

The rookie has played in all 52 games for the Thunder this season, starting eight. He’s averaging 4.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in 17.4 minutes per game.

Team health was an issue for OKC during the month of January when multiple guys missed time due to various injuries. Both Steven Adams and Nerlens Noel struggled with ankle injuries while Terrance Ferguson missed eight straight games before returning on Feb. 3.

Billy Donovan had said earlier this week that a healthy bench complicated roster rotations.

Hamidou Diallo, who had not played in either of OKC’s wins last week after Ferguson returned to practice, got into the game Sunday. He’s played five minutes without recording any stats as of this writing.
