Ravens HC John Harbaugh provides injury update on CB Kevon Seymour

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh provided an injury update on cornerback Kevon Seymour

The Baltimore Ravens’ regular season begins in just under two weeks, where the team will travel to take on the New York Jets in Week 1. Injuries are a part of football, and it’s not a surprise that some players who received playing time during the preseason picked up injuries. One of those players is cornerback Kevon Seymour, who picked up the ailment in Baltimore’s Week 3 win over the Washington Commanders.

Following training camp practice on Monday, Ravens head coach John Harbaugh spoke to the media. When asked about the veteran cornerback, Harbaugh said Seymour suffered an ankle sprain and that he expects him to return early in the season.

“We did. He has an ankle sprain. So, that’s good news. It’s not going to be like a week, it could be a few weeks. But we’ll have him sometime early in the season.”

Seymour has been fighting for a roster spot this offseason in a crowded cornerback room that also includes players such as Marlon Humphrey, Marcus Peters, Kyle Fuller and more. The NFL roster cutdown deadline to 53 players is 4 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30th.

Ravens HC John Harbaugh gives injury updates on DL Aaron Crawford, CB Kevon Seymour

Ravens head coach John Harbaugh gave injury updates on both defensive lineman Crawford and cornerback Kevon Seymour

The Baltimore Ravens wrapped up another perfect preseason on Saturday night, defeating the Washington Commanders by the final score of 17-15. The victory marked their 23rd exhibition win in a row, adding onto their NFL record that they picked up last year.

While the win was impressive, Baltimore didn’t get out of the game fully unscathed. Both defensive lineman Aaron Crawford and cornerback Kevon Seymour left the game early, and after the contest head coach John Harbaugh provided an injury update on both players, saying that Crawford’s could be serious while he doesn’t believe Seymour’s is serious.

Both Crawford and Seymour have been fighting for roster spots over the course of the 2022 offseason in very deep positional rooms. It’s unclear what both injuries are at the moment, but it’s likely more information will become known as it becomes available.
