ON3 ranks the SEC’s best offensive lines

Who has the best offensive line in the SEC? Where is Georgia football ranked?

Offensive lines are critical for allowing offenses to have balance. Without a strong offensive line it is hard to compete especially in the SEC.

Who has the best offensive line in the SEC?

The Georgia Bulldogs had a stout offensive front last season, but did not have the most rushing yards per game in the conference. Only counting the regular season and SEC championship, Ole Miss had the most rushing yards per game last year, but they don’t make the cut.

Additionally, Texas A&M, Alabama, and more recruited some elite talent along the offensive line. Third-team All-SEC offensive tackle Tyler Steen transferred to Alabama from Vanderbilt this offseason.

Here’s how ON3 ranks the best offensive fronts in college football’s best conference:

Kentucky Football Schedule What To Know: Who do the Wildcats miss from the SEC West slate?

The Wildcats can’t complain. They have to go to Ole Miss and host Mississippi State from the West. That means they miss Alabama, Texas, A&M, Auburn, LSU, and Arkansas. That’s not too bad.

The games against the East aren’t all that bad, either. They have to start out the SEC season at Florida, but the road date at Tennessee comes after a week off, and the Georgia game is at home.

Kentucky Football Schedule What To Know: November might not be all that bad

Playing Georgia is bad no matter when it happens, but again, at least that’s at home.

At Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Louisville are wrapped around the date with the Dawgs. Throw in the October home games against South Carolina and Mississippi State, and five of the last seven games and eight of the last ten, and there isn’t a whole lot to complain about.

That means …

Kentucky Football Schedule What To Know: What does it all really mean?

Really? There are only four road games?

Yup, and if Florida hasn’t built back better under Billy Napier two weeks in, there’s a shot at a massive record to kick off the season before going to Ole Miss.

There isn’t a non-conference game to worry about – all of them are at home – and there aren’t going to be too many times Kentucky will be the underdog. So go ahead and put it out there …

If Kentucky is ever going to get over the hump in the SEC East, this is the schedule to make it happen.

Kentucky Wildcats College Football Preview 2021: Offense

The offense needed a jumpstart. It’s one thing to have a slow and stodgy offensive attack as part of an overall style and system, but it’s another to finish dead last in the SEC in total yards with the league’s least-efficient passing game. Enter new offensive coordinator Liam Coen, who comes in from his time as an assistant under Sean McVay on the LA Rams.

So, with Terry Wilson transferring to New Mexico, the starting quarterback who’s going to make this all go is …

Yeah, it’s going to take all of fall camp to figure out the quarterback. Joey Gatewood has the size, the arm, the skills, and the experience as the backup, but he hasn’t been able to take over. Sophomore Bo Allen is right there in the hunt, but there’s a reason Will Levis is transferring in from Penn State.

No matter who’s under center – it’ll likely be Levis – there’s a good group of targets to start opening things up a bit. Senior Josh Ali is the main man, returning for his super-senior year after leading the way with 54 catches for 473 yards and a score, but getting Wan’dale Robinson from Nebraska was a huge transfer.

6-6, 245-pound junior Keaton Upshaw was second on the team in receptions and led the way with three touchdown passes, and fellow tight end Justin Rigg is an option, too.

The O line was and will be a plus. It was great at keeping defenses out of the backfield, and it pushed for for close to 200 yards for the ground game. Three starters are expected back, but losing Drake Jackson and Landon Young hurts – 6-5, 338-pound tackle Darian Kinnard is the guy to work around.

Chris Rodriguez was a major factor with a team-high 785 yards and 11 touchdowns with junior Kavosiey Smoke leading a decent group of backups for the rotation.

Twitter reacts to Georgia football’s lackluster win over Kentucky

The Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Kentucky Wildcats in a closer game than expected this Saturday.

The Georgia Bulldogs defeated the Kentucky Wildcats in what was quite a boring game. Both teams chewed the clock with run-dominant schemes. Kentucky seemed satisfied to take a 14-3 loss into the final minutes of the game. The Wildcats seldom ran any hurry-up offense despite trailing.

Kirby Smart and Georgia won behind a 100-yard game from Zamir White and a dominant defensive performance. Georgia’s defensive effort came at the price of several key injuries.

Quarterback Stetson Bennett and the Georgia passing game failed to pack a punch against a decent Kentucky secondary. Bennett was missing No. 1 wide receiver George Pickens, who has an upper body injury. Bennett turned the ball over twice in only 13 passing attempts. He additionally fumbled the ball on a run, but Georgia recovered it.

A performance like this will not be enough to beat the Florida Gators next week. Florida will not have much good film from the Georgia offense in the win over Kentucky as UGA ran a pretty vanilla scheme on offense.
