The 14th-seeded Oakland Golden Grizzlies (23-11) and 3rd-seeded Kentucky Wildcats (23-9) meet in the South Region for an NCAA Tournament first-round game Thursday. Tip-off from PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh is set for 7:10 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Oakland vs. Kentucky odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Oakland is on a 4 game winning streak after beating Milwaukee 83-76 to win the Horizon League Tournament Tuesday while covering as a 4-point favorite. F Trey Townsend and F Chris Conway each had a double-double. Townsend had a game-high 38 points with 11 rebounds, and Conway added 11 points and 10 boards. The Golden Grizzlies shot 43.5% from the field in the win.

Kentucky fell 97-87 in the quarterfinal of the SEC Tournament Friday while failing to cover as a 5.5-point favorite. G Rob Dillingham scored a team-high 27 points while only 3 Kentucky players scored in double figures. The Wildcats shot 50% from the field in the loss.

Kentucky 87, Oakland 79

There is no value on Kentucky (-1200), which is 7-3 in its last 10 and 5-1 in its last 6, to knock off Oakland.

Against the spread

BET OAKLAND +13.5 (-110).

While Kentucky is the superior team in size, strength, and overall talent, the Golden Grizzlies are 6-3 ATS in their last 9 games. They have covered and won their last 2 games as underdogs.

The Wildcats have failed to cover the spread in 3 of their last 4, including each of their last 3 as favorites. They have also failed to cover the spread in each of their last 3 games as double-digit favorites.

Kentucky at Tennessee odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Kentucky at Tennessee odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Kentucky Wildcats (22-8, 12-5) and Tennessee Volunteers (24-6, 14-3 SEC) meet Saturday at the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville. Tip-off is scheduled for 4 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Kentucky vs. Tennessee odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The Wildcats enter on a 4-game winning streak, while posting a 4-3 against the spread (ATS) mark in the past 7 outings. The Over has cashed in each of the past 4 games, with Kentucky going for at least 91 points in the Over streak.

The Volunteers have won and covered 4 in a row, while going 8-2 ATS in the past 10 outings. The Under has cashed in 5 of the past 6 outings for Tennessee.

These teams last met Feb. 3 in Lexington with the Vols posting a 103-92 win as 1.5-point underdogs as the Over (158.5) comfortably connected. Kentucky won last season’s visit to Knoxville as an 11-point underdog Jan. 14, 2023, 63-56 as the Under (131.5) cashed.

Kentucky is No. 13 and Tennessee is No. 4 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll.

Kentucky at Tennessee picks and predictions

Prediction

Tennessee 93, Kentucky 88

Moneyline

Tennessee (-350) will cost 3½ times the potential return, and that’s way too risky in a rivalry game between 2 high-octane offenses and ranked teams.

Kentucky (+275) is a tempting play for the chance to nearly multiply up by 3 times, especially since it won in Knoxville last season. However, Tennessee has won 15 of 16 games at Thompson-Boling this season, and the Vols aren’t likely to be tripped up again.

PASS.

Against the spread

KENTUCKY +7.5 (-102) is a solid play catching nearly 4 buckets. The Wildcats have been on fire on offense, but covering against Tennessee won’t be easy. The Vols have covered 4 in a row.

The Wildcats have covered 4 of the past 5 games on the road, while going 5-1 ATS as underdogs this season. Kentucky has won 4 of those 6 games as a dog outright, too.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

OVER 167.5 (-105) is a giant number, but with the way these teams have performed offensively, it might not be nearly high enough. The last time these teams met, we had a 195 combined points (Feb. 3).

Kentucky is averaging 103.0 PPG across the past 4 outings, all Over results, while Big Blue has allowed 89 or more points in 3 of those contests.

Tennessee is actually on an Under run lately, going low in 5 of the past 6 games. But the offense is good for 81 or more points in 3 of the past 4 outings, and 7 of the past 10 contests.

Vanderbilt at Kentucky odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Wednesday’s Vanderbilt at Kentucky odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Vanderbilt Commodores (8-21, 3-13 SEC) take on the No. 13 Kentucky Wildcats (21-8, 11-5) Wednesday at Rupp Arena. Tip is set for 9 p.m. ET (SEC Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Vanderbilt vs. Kentucky odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Vandy has lost 4 of 5 after a 75-61 home defeat to the LSU Tigers Saturday. Before that setback, it upset the Arkansas Razorbacks on the road as a 10-point dog. G Ezra Manjon dropped 22 on Arkansas and 17 against LSU.

The Wildcats, No. 13 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Pollhave won 3 in a row and 5 of 6. Their latest was a 111-102 victory over Arkansas, though they failed to cover the lofty 13-point spread. G Antonio Reeves has been money in the bank with 20+ in 5 straight games. UK clubbed the Commodores, 109-77, Feb. 6 in Nashville.

Vanderbilt at Kentucky picks and predictions

Prediction

Kentucky 101, Vanderbilt 68

Moneyline

Not much to see here as far as the ML goes.

As we touched on already, Reeves has dropped 20+ in 5 straight — actually 21+ in 5 straight. So, the books have cleverly anointed his number at 20.5. He had 24 against Vandy in the 1st meeting. and while this number doesn’t leave much wiggle room, I’m willing to ride it 1 more time.

Take ANTONIO REEVES OVER 20.5 POINTS (-130).

Against the spread

I really don’t like spreads like this. Because the risk vastly outweighs the reward. You’re betting on college kids that are more talented than the other team to drop the hammer on them and not let up. Should UK win by 18 or more? Yes. Is it possible that it isn’t as interested in doing that, as it is looking ahead to a big matchup in Knoxville against the Tennessee Vols? Yes.

Take UK ML + ANTONIO REEVES 20 POINTS (-156). There’s less of a payout, but it’s worth the safety net.

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

The Over has cashed in 2 straight meetings, but those totals were 9 and 17 points fewer than this one. Vandy has touched 70 points 3 times in the last 10. So we’re really depending on Kentucky to drop 95 to cash this Over. UK is averaging 106.3 PPG over its last 3 games. It posted 109 against Vandy in Nashville. There isn’t much margin for error, but I’ll LEAN OVER 160.5 (-115).

Arkansas at Kentucky odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Arkansas at Kentucky odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 15 Kentucky Wildcats (20-8, 10-5 SEC) welcome Arkansas Razorbacks (14-14, 5-10) to Rupp Arena Saturday. Tip is set for 1:30 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Arkansas vs. Kentucky odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

Kentucky is No. 15 in the USA TODAY Sports Coaches Poll. The Cats beat the Mississippi State Bulldogs 91-89 in an electric road battle Tuesday. Kentucky covered as a 5-point road underdog. It has covered 4 of its last 5 and is 17-11 against the spread (ATS) this season. The Cats are led by G Antonio Reeves, who is averaging 19.9 points per game.

Arkansas lost to the Vanderbilt Commodores 85-82 Tuesday, failing to cover as a 10-point home favorite. It has lost 3 of its last 5 games yet is 3-2 ATS in that span. The Razorbacks are 9-19 ATS on the season and 3-1 ATS in their last 4. Arkansas is led by G Tramon Mark, who is averaging 16.8 points per game.

Arkansas at Kentucky picks and predictions

Prediction

Kentucky 92, Arkansas 77

Moneyline

PASS.

The Cats have won 4 of their last 5. Despite being shaky at home, they still aren’t worth betting against here despite lengthy plus-money Arkansas odds.

Against the spread

LEAN KENTUCKY -13.5 (-108).

The Cats are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games and have frequently rewarded bettors this season. Kentucky has covered 5 of its last 6 SEC games as well and is 4-1 ATS in its last 5 games as a double-digit favorite.

The Razorbacks have had recent success but are just 9-19 ATS on the season. They are 3-9 ATS in either road or neutral-court games, so this has been an area of clear struggle for Arkansas.

That said, take KENTUCKY -13.5 (-108).

Play our free daily Pick’em Challenge and win! Play now!

Over/Under

BET OVER 166.5 (-105).

If there’s one thing both teams have done consistently this season, it is hit the Over. The Razorbacks have gone Over in 7 of their last 8 games and have scored at least 82 in 2 straight.

The Cats play at one of the fastest paces in the NCAA and have an efficient offense. They are 20-8 O/U on the season and 6-3 O/U in their last 9 games. Kentucky has scored at least 91 in 2 straight.

Take OVER 166.5 (-105).

The No. 20 Tennessee Volunteers (5-2, 2-2 SEC) take on the Kentucky Wildcats (5-2, 2-2) on Saturday at Kroger Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Tennessee vs. Kentucky odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Volunteers failed to cover as 9-point road underdogs in their 34-20 loss to No. 8 Alabama in Week 8, and the Over (48) hit. Tennessee was on a 3-game winning streak before its loss to Alabama and has scored only 20 points in back-to-back weeks.

The Wildcats were defeated by No. 16 Missouri 38-21 in Week 7 as 1.5-point home favorites, and the Over (50.5) cleared. Kentucky lost 2 games in a row before having its bye in Week 8, with the other loss coming to No. 1 Georgia.

Tennessee at Kentucky picks and predictions

Prediction

Kentucky 27, Tennessee 24

Moneyline

While Tennessee is favored to win this SEC bout on the road, I’ll back KENTUCKY (+150) at home. The Volunteers have only played 2 road games thus far and both of those were losses to conference opponents.

The Wildcats are also 4-1 at home this season.

Against the spread

KENTUCKY +3.5 (-110) is the play against the spread considering we are siding with the Wildcats to pull off the upset at home. The Volunteers have failed to cover the spread in each of their 1st 2 road games against SEC teams.

Meanwhile, the Wildcats are 3-2 ATS at home and are now 8-5 ATS at home in the last 2 seasons.

Over/Under

Neither of these offenses has shown much consistency this season, making the UNDER 51.5 (-115) the ideal choice in this contest. The Volunteers are allowing only 19.43 points per game, while the Wildcats are giving up only 23.57 points per game.

QB Joe Milton III and QB Devin Leary have been shaky this season, and the Under is 4-1 in the last 5 meetings between these programs.

Missouri at Kentucky odds, picks and predictions

The Missouri Tigers (5-1, 1-1 SEC) and the Kentucky Wildcats (5-1, 2-1) meet Saturday at Kroger Field in Lexington, Ky. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (SEC Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Missouri vs. Kentucky odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Tigers are coming off a disappointing 49-39 loss to LSU at Faurot Field in Columbia last weekend, as the defense struggled mightily. That’s 4 straight games Mizzou has allowed at least 21 points, although the offense is good for 30 or points in each of the outings. That’s a great recipe for totals going high, with the Over cashing in all 4 games.

The Wildcats were humbled by top-ranked Georgia in between the hedges last Saturday, as Kentucky was throttled 51-13 as a 14.5-point underdog. The offensive production was the lowest of the season, and the points allowed were more than the previous 3 games combined. The Over has hit in 3 in a row for UK.

Missouri is No. 25 and Kentucky is No. 23 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Missouri at Kentucky picks and predictions

Prediction

Kentucky 32, Missouri 29

Moneyline

KENTUCKY (-135) is worth a look in this SEC East matchup, which is an elimination game of sorts. The winner is still, technically, alive for the division title, while a 2-loss team in the division is all but eliminated from SEC Championship Game contention.

The Wildcats have won the past 2 meetings, including a 21-17 visit to Columbia last season. UK has won 7 of the past 8 meetings overall, too.

The last 2 seasons have each been decided by 1 score, however, so expect a tight affair to the end.

Against the spread

KENTUCKY -2.5 (-110) is worth a look, as the Wildcats are a solid 3-0 ATS on their home field against FBS opponents, although some Ball State bettors are still reeling after the bad beat in Week 1, which Kentucky won 44-14 to cover a 25-point number.

While both of these teams struggled defensively last weekend, Missouri +2.5 (-110) has made a habit of it for most of the season. It has allowed 27 or more points in 3 of the past 4 games. I think Kentucky moves the ball well enough to win and grab the cover.

Over/Under

OVER 50.5 (-110) is the best play on the board. Kentucky allowed 51 points to Georgia last weekend, while Mizzou coughed up 49 points. We should see a high-scoring affair, although I think both defenses will be slightly better than what we saw last week.

Mizzou has cashed the Over in 4 straight games, while Kentucky has seen the total go high in 3 in a row, all inside the SEC. Look for a higher-scoring affair on Saturday.

Kentucky at Georgia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Kentucky at Georgia odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 20 Kentucky Wildcats (5-0, 2-0 SEC) square off against the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0) in Athens Saturday. Kickoff from Sanford Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Kentucky vs. Georgia odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Kentucky beat Florida 33-14 as a 1-point home favorite last week. While QB Devin Leary went just 9 of 19 for only 69 yards and a touchdown, it was RB Ray Davis who propelled the offense. Davis had 26 carries for 280 yards and 3 TDs alongside 1 reception for an additional TD through the air. The Wildcats will need Davis to perform again Saturday if they want to knock off the Bulldogs.

Georgia escaped upset last week with a narrow 27-20 victory over Auburn while failing to cover as a 14-point road favorite. TE Brock Bowers hauled in the game-winning TD with just under 3 minutes remaining. Bowers carried the Bulldogs on offense with 8 receptions for 157 yards and a TD while RB Daijun Edwards had 19 carries for 76 yards and 2 TDs.

Kentucky at Georgia picks and predictions

Prediction

Georgia 31, Kentucky 20

Moneyline

PASS.

As the top-ranked team in the nation, Georgia (-600) is rightfully a heavy favorite in this matchup. However, there’s no value to be made betting on a -600 favorite.

Against the spread

LEAN KENTUCKY +14.5 (-110).

Kentucky demonstrated its offensive capabilities last week, especially with Davis constantly showing his shiftiness on a career day. Georgia will plan to stop the run, which will open up the offense for more play-action and pass plays.

Even with the Bulldogs’ pressure, Davis should be able to find the end zone – the Bulldogs have let up an average of 113.4 rushing yards per game this season.

Over/Under

BET OVER 47.5 (-110).

Three of Georgia’s 5 games have gone Over 47.5 points this season, while Kentucky games have gone Over this number twice. Both teams are offense-oriented and have weapons that are more than capable of scoring.

Expect a lot of points in this matchup.

The Florida Gators (3-1, 1-1 SEC) and the Kentucky Wildcats (4-0, 1-0) meet Saturday at Kroger Field in Lexington for an SEC East matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for noon ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Florida vs. Kentucky odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Gators racked up an impressive 29-16 win over Tennessee in Week 3, cashing as a 4.5-point underdog in the biggest victory of the Billy Napier era. It was rather uninspired in a 22-7 win over a very mediocre Charlotte team, but Florida has 3 straight wins and a Top 25 ranking. Florida is 1-3 against the spread (ATS), while the Under is 3-0-1 at most shops through 4 games.

Kentucky spanked Vanderbilt in the SEC opener last weekend, winning 45-28 to cover a 13-point spread. The Wildcats are now 3-0 ATS in 3 meetings against FBS opponents, and the defense is allowing just 15.5 PPG through 4 outings.

The Wildcats had lost 31 straight meetings against the Gators from 1987 to 2017, but Kentucky has won 3 of the past 5 in the series, including a 26-16 win in Gainesville last Sept. 10. UK has won by 7 or more points in all 3 of those victories since Sept. 2018, too.

Florida at Kentucky picks and predictions

Prediction

Kentucky 26, Florida 23

Moneyline

KENTUCKY (-115) is a football school now. The Wildcats have fired out of the chute with 4 victories, and that’s with QB Devin Leary still struggling a bit by his standards. The former NC State signal caller has completed just 59.3% of his passes for 1,060 yards, 9 TD and 5 INT. If he can start cleaning up his mistakes, and be a little more accurate, the sky is the limit for Big Blue.

Against the spread

KENTUCKY -1.5 (-105) is slightly cheaper than the moneyline, and the better play since the game cannot end in a tie. There was a time it was unfathomable to bet the Wildcats against the Gators, but Kentucky has proven that it can not only beat Florida, it can beat the Gators rather routinely.

Over/Under

OVER 44.5 (-110) is the lean, as this number is just way too low.

Yes, the Gators are averaging just 20.7 PPG on offense in 3 games against FBS opponents, while allowing 15.7 PPG on defense. However, the Wildcats can roll up some serious offense, and it has scored 35 or more points in all 3 games against FBS opponents this season. We won’t get a track meet in Lexington, but we won’t have a defensive slog, either.

Kentucky vs. Kansas State picks and predictions

Prediction

Kentucky 72, Kansas State 66

Moneyline

PASS.

Despite being the lower seed, Kentucky is favored in this game. And it should be. But there’s better value on the spread and Over/Under

Against the spread

KENTUCKY -2.5 (-115).

Kansas State had a good season in the Big-12, but we have seen in this tournament the Big-12, despite being the best conference, might be a bit overrated. First-round losses by 1-seed Kansas and 6-seed Iowa State have left the conference reeling.

Kentucky finished the regular season strong and had a much harder challenge in the 1st round with Providence and it will build on that to cover the 2.5-point spread here.

Kentucky is 5-0 in its last 5 games against a team with a win percentage above .600 and are 6-2 in its last 8 games overall. Kentucky is the right side to reach another Sweet 16 just a season after being bounced as the No. 2 seed by the St. Peter’s Peacocks.

Over/Under

UNDER 144.5 (-112)

Kentucky held Providence 24 points below its season average behind the dominating defense of Tshiebwe. He will again be prowling the center for Kentucky and will limit Kansas State’s ability to score down low.

Kentucky ranks 13th in defensive rebounding with 36.1 while the Kansas State offense is 129th in getting the boards with 30.2. This will limit the amount of 2nd-chance points for K-State and will provide Kentucky with plenty of fast-break opportunities should it want to play this game fast.

John Calipari has not wanted to play fast all season and it will not start here. This will be a slow game and Kentucky will control the clock and the scoreboard. Simply, 144.5 is too high and if this number is above 141, the Under is the side.
