NIT semifinal: Georgia vs. Seton Hall odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Tuesday’s Georgia vs. Seton Hall odds and lines, with college basketball expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The Georgia Bulldogs (20-16) and Seton Hall Pirates (23-12) meet Tuesday in an NIT Semifinal. Tip-off from Hinkle Fieldhouse in Indianapolis is slated for 9:30 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Georgia vs. Sethon Hall odds, and make our expert college basketball picks, predictions and best bets.

The Bulldogs have caught fire in the postseason, winning 3 straight in the NIT, and 4 of 5 outings. Georgia has covered the spread 7 games in a row, including covered in all 5 postseason games — 2 in the SEC Tournament and 3 straight in the NIT.

Georgia is averaging 76.3 points per game (PPG) in the NIT, although the Over cashed only in the most recent game at Ohio State March 26.

The Pirates were sour about being snubbed by the NCAA Tournament committee. Instead of pouting, Seton Hall is making a statement, winning 3 in a row since getting shown the door by St. John’s in its 1st Big East Tournament game.

Seton Hall pounded UNLV 91-68 as a 6.5-point home favorite in an NIT quarterfinal Wednesday, cashing the Over (143.5). However, Seton Hall is still just 3-5 against the spread (ATS) in the past 8 games with the Over going 5-3.

Utah and Indiana State are playing in the other NIT semifinal — scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN).

Georgia vs. Seton Hall and predictions

Prediction

Seton Hall 75, Georgia 73

Moneyline

Seton Hall (-210) will cost 2.1 times the potential return. That’s way too much risk for not enough reward for a singular bet. However, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to include the Pirates in a multi-team parlay or a bonus bet with a boost.

PASS.

Against the spread

GEORGIA +4.5 (-110) is worth a play catching the points. Georgia has been hot, including a surprising outright win at Ohio State as an 8.5-point underdog.

Seton Hall is on a mission, and it appears it’s on a collision course with fellow NCAA Tournament snub Indiana State for the NIT crown. However, the Pirates are just 2-2 ATS in the postseason, and 1-3 ATS in 4 neutral-site games. Look for UGA to keep it close.

Over/Under

OVER 145.5 (-105) is worth playing lightly.

The Over has split in 4 postseason games for the Pirates, but there is a slight 8-5 edge to the Over in the previous 13 contests.

For the Bulldogs, the Over-Under has split 2-2 in the past 4 postseason games. The Dawgs have hit 72 or more points in 4 straight games, while allowing 76 or more points in 3 of the previous 4 outings.

Georgia vs. Florida odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Georgia vs. Florida odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (7-0, 4-0 SEC) and Florida Gators (5-2, 3-1) meet Saturday with kickoff from EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville set for 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Georgia vs. Florida odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Georgia stayed undefeated with a 37-20 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores Saturday, but failed to cover as a 32.5-point favorite. The Bulldogs rushed for 291 yards and 3 TDs while holding the Commodores to 219 yards of total offense.

Florida picked up its 2nd consecutive win in a 41-39 shootout vs. the South Carolina Gamecocks Saturday, covering as 1-point underdogs. QB Graham Mertz threw for 423 yards and 3 TDs. WR Ricky Pearsall led the way with 166 yards and a TD.

Georgia vs. Florida picks and predictions

Prediction

Georgia 32, Florida 17

Moneyline

PASS.

The Bulldogs should be able to pick up the win here, but a -650 favorite is not worth the risk of betting on. Bet on the spread and/or O/U instead.

Against the spread

LEAN GEORGIA -14.5 (-110).

I expect this to be a competitive game for the 1st half or maybe even through 3 quarters, but eventually Georgia should begin to pull away. Georgia has a phenomenal defense that will make it difficult for this Gators rushing attack that averages 141.3 yards per game to get going. I also like Georgia to see a good amount of success in the passing game, even with star TE Brock Bowers out with an ankle injury.

Over/Under

BET OVER 48.5 (-105).

Both of these teams are solid defensively, but both also have a lot of offensive firepower. Georgia averages 509.4 yards of total offense per game, and 337 of those yards come via the passing attack. Florida’s defense can be attacked in both the air and on the ground as the Gators allow 312.4 total yards per game (187.6 passing, 124.9 rushing).

Also, 4 of the last 6 meetings between these squads has hit Over 48.5.

Georgia at Vanderbilt odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Georgia at Vanderbilt odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (6-0, 3-0 SEC) and Vanderbilt Commodores (2-5, 0-3) meet Saturday at FirstBank Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Georgia vs. Vanderbilt odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The Bulldogs moved their conference record to 3-0 with a dominant 51-13 victory over the No. 23 Kentucky Wildcats last Saturday. They easily covered the 14.5-point spread at home and cashed the Over (46.5). The cover ended an 0-3 against the spread (ATS) run and improved Georgia to 2-4 ATS on the year.

Vanderbilt lost its 5th straight game last Saturday against the Florida Gators 38-14. It currently sits in last place in the SEC East heading into this weekend’s game against No. 1 Georgia. The Commodores are losing by an average of nearly 20 points per game in conference play and have failed to cover the spread in any game this season.

Georgia at Vanderbilt picks and predictions

Prediction

Georgia 54, Vanderbilt 17

Moneyline

BetMGM is not even offering a moneyline bet on this game because the Bulldogs are such a heavy favorite. Just avoid and look to the spread and total.

AVOID.

Against the spread

BET GEORGIA -32.5 (-115).

It really does not matter how high this spread is, Georgia will dominate Vanderbilt in this one. In their last two meetings, Georgia has won by a combined 117-0. Vanderbilt has scored a grand total of 6 points against the Bulldogs in their last 12 quarters against each other.

The Bulldogs manhandled a much better Kentucky team last weekend. This Commodore team lost to Kentucky by 17 earlier this season. Georgia looks like it is finally hitting its stride offensively after starting a bit slow, and we know how dominant its defense can be every week.

You also have to consider that Vanderbilt has yet to cover any game this season, even against the lesser opponents it has faced.

Over/Under

BET OVER 55.5 (-110).

Vanderbilt is allowing 40 points per game to its opponents in conference play and Georgia is by far the best team it has faced thus far. According to TeamRankings.com, the Commodores are allowing 445.0 yards per game (115th-fewest in the country). The Bulldogs rank 8th in that category, allowing just 271.8 per game.

Georgia has scored at least 45 points in 4 of its 6 games this season.

Kentucky at Georgia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Kentucky at Georgia odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The No. 20 Kentucky Wildcats (5-0, 2-0 SEC) square off against the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (5-0, 2-0) in Athens Saturday. Kickoff from Sanford Stadium is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET (ESPN). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Kentucky vs. Georgia odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Kentucky beat Florida 33-14 as a 1-point home favorite last week. While QB Devin Leary went just 9 of 19 for only 69 yards and a touchdown, it was RB Ray Davis who propelled the offense. Davis had 26 carries for 280 yards and 3 TDs alongside 1 reception for an additional TD through the air. The Wildcats will need Davis to perform again Saturday if they want to knock off the Bulldogs.

Georgia escaped upset last week with a narrow 27-20 victory over Auburn while failing to cover as a 14-point road favorite. TE Brock Bowers hauled in the game-winning TD with just under 3 minutes remaining. Bowers carried the Bulldogs on offense with 8 receptions for 157 yards and a TD while RB Daijun Edwards had 19 carries for 76 yards and 2 TDs.

Kentucky at Georgia picks and predictions

Prediction

Georgia 31, Kentucky 20

Moneyline

PASS.

As the top-ranked team in the nation, Georgia (-600) is rightfully a heavy favorite in this matchup. However, there’s no value to be made betting on a -600 favorite.

Against the spread

LEAN KENTUCKY +14.5 (-110).

Kentucky demonstrated its offensive capabilities last week, especially with Davis constantly showing his shiftiness on a career day. Georgia will plan to stop the run, which will open up the offense for more play-action and pass plays.

Even with the Bulldogs’ pressure, Davis should be able to find the end zone – the Bulldogs have let up an average of 113.4 rushing yards per game this season.

Over/Under

BET OVER 47.5 (-110).

Three of Georgia’s 5 games have gone Over 47.5 points this season, while Kentucky games have gone Over this number twice. Both teams are offense-oriented and have weapons that are more than capable of scoring.

Expect a lot of points in this matchup.

The Georgia Bulldogs (4-0, 1-0 SEC) and the Auburn Tigers (3-1, 0-1) meet Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium in an SEC matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the Georgia vs. Auburn odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

The top-ranked Bulldogs were rather sluggish in the SEC opener against South Carolina 2 weeks ago, posting a 24-14 win. It failed to cover, and that’s been a theme, going 1-3 against the spread (ATS) so far this season. The Over last week in a 49-21 win and non-cover against UAB snapped a 3-0 Under run.

The Tigers also had a 1st last week, and not a good one. Auburn suffered its 1st setback of the 2023 campaign, falling 27-10 at Texas A&M. It has failed to cover the past 3 games, while cashing the Under in all 3 outings.

UGA has won 6 straight meetings in this series since 2017, and the Bulldogs have covered 6 consecutive battles, too. The Under is 5-1 during the 6-game span, while cashing in 8 of the past 10 meetings overall.

Georgia is No. 1 in the US LBM Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports.

Georgia at Auburn picks and predictions

Prediction

Georgia 41, Auburn 17

Moneyline

Top-ranked Georgia (-650) will cost you 6 1/2 times your potential return. While the Bulldogs have dominated this series recently, winning and covering in 6 meetings in a row, that’s just too much risk for not enough reward.

AVOID, and look to the spread instead.

Against the spread

GEORGIA -14.5 (-110) is worth a look on the Plains in this SEC clash Saturday.

The Bulldogs have covered just once in 4 games, their 45-3 win over Ball State on Sept. 9. And that cover was by a mere half-point. Despite that fact, Auburn +14.5 (-110) has failed to cover 3 in a row, and it is 0-6 ATS in the past 6 tries against the Dawgs. Georgia is a strong play to maintain its mastery of Auburn, and this one isn’t likely to be terribly close.

Over/Under

OVER 45.5 (-106) might be the best play on the board.

While Auburn’s offense has been rather erratic, it has averaged just 12.0 PPG in 2 games against Power 5 foes, both on the road. The Under has cashed in 3 in a row for the Tigers, too.

So why the Over? Well, Georgia has gone for 45 or more points in 3 of 4 games, and it has the potential to take care of the total all on its own. Be careful, as the Under is 3-1 for UGA so far this season. But I feel as if we’re going to get an offensive explosive for the top-ranked team, making a statement on the road.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The UAB Blazers (1-2) and the Georgia Bulldogs (2-1) meet Saturday night at Sanford Stadium in Athens, Ga. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET (ESPN2). Below, we analyze FanDuel Sportsbook’s lines around the UAB vs. Georgia odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

UAB won 6 regular-season games and it picked up a victory over Miami-Ohio in the Bahamas Bowl last season. The Blazers have won 6 or more games in 7 consecutive seasons, but coach Trent Dilfer’s team is struggling mightily in 2023.

The Blazers opened with a 35-6 win over North Carolina A&T as a 24-point favorite on Aug. 31, cashing as a 24-point favorite. That was UAB’s last win, cover and Under result. The Blazers have allowed 45.0 points per game (PPG) in the past 2 games.

The top-ranked Bulldogs opened with a pair of wins against Tennessee-Martin and Ball State, averaging 46.6 PPG, while allowing just 10 total points. It eked out a 24-14 win over South Carolina last time out. The Under has cashed in all 3 games for Georgia so far, mainly because of the defense. The Dawgs have allowed just 8.0 PPG this season.

UAB at Georgia picks and predictions

Prediction

Georgia 58, UAB 10

Moneyline

There was no money line at the time of publishing, but it wouldn’t be worth pursuing anyway.

Against the spread

GEORGIA -42 (-110) is the lean. The Bulldogs are the top-ranked team in the nation, and it will iron out the kinks against a very giving UAB +42 (-110) defense.

The Bulldogs struggled against South Carolina’s defense, but it won’t have similar issues against UAB. The Blazers have coughed up 45.0 PPG in the past 2 games against FBS opponents, both losses, and UGA will add to their pain.

Over/Under

OVER 54.5 (-110) might be the best play on the board, and it wouldn’t be stunning at all to see Georgia take care of the Over on its own.

UAB has cashed the Over in both games against FBS foes Georgia Southern and Louisiana, yielding 45.0 PPG.

While Georgia has hit the Under in all 3 games this season, that’s mainly because of its defense. The Bulldogs will still hold down the Blazers, perhaps even to single digits, but Georgia could easily hit 55 or more points against this very giving D.

South Carolina at Georgia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s South Carolina at Georgia odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The South Carolina Gamecocks (1-1) visit the No. 1 Georgia Bulldogs (2-0) Saturday. The SEC battle kicks off from Sanford Stadium at 3:30 p.m. ET (CBS). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the South Carolina vs. Georgia odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

South Carolina came away with a 47-21 bounce-back win vs. the Furman Paladins after losing 31-17 to the North Carolina Tar Heels in Week 1. The Gamecocks have had a very 1-dimensional offense to start the year, as their passing game has proven to be their go-to. QB Spencer Rattler has completed 83% of his passes (55 of 66) for 698 yards and 3 TDs, but the ground game has not seen much production. RB Dakereon Joyner is the team’s leading rusher with 65 yards and 2 TDs on 23 carries.

Georgia has started its season with 2 blowout wins, 48-7 vs. Tennessee-Martin and 45-3 over Ball State last week. Georgia has also been a very pass-heavy squad to start the season as QB Carson Beck has completed 72% of his passes (44 of 61) for 577 yards, 3 TDs, and 1 INT. The story for Georgia has been its defense which has allowed only 10 total points in 2 games.

South Carolina at Georgia picks and predictions

Prediction

Georgia 35, South Carolina 14

Moneyline

PASS.

Georgia should be able to pick up the win, but as a (-10000) favorite the line is far too risky. Bet on the spread and/or total instead.

Against the spread

LEAN SOUTH CAROLINA +27.5 (-105).

Games with 2 SEC opponents are always unpredictable, but I believe the Gamecocks will be able to stay within 4 TDs here. I am worried about how Beck will perform in the 1st true test in his collegiate career, which makes me feel even more comfortable about SC covering here. Look for Rattler to generate offense by connecting with his favorite target, WR Xavier Legette.

Over/Under

BET UNDER 54.5 (-110).

Georgia’s defense has been stout to start the season and expect to see more of the same here. The Gamecocks don’t have a rushing attack to keep the Bulldogs’ defense honest so they will be able to play with a lot of DBs and a very light box. Georgia will be able to score, but their lack of a run game is also a concern for me. Rattler was sacked 9 times in the season opening loss vs. UNC, so Georgia’s defense should be able to create pressure all game. I simply don’t think South Carolina’s offense will be able to generate enough points to hit the Over.

Ball State at Georgia odds, picks and predictions

Analyzing Saturday’s Ball State at Georgia odds and lines, with college football expert picks, predictions and best bets.

[gambcom-standard rankid=”3011″ ]

The top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs (1-0) welcome the Ball State Cardinals (0-1) to Sanford Stadium Saturday. Kickoff is set for noon ET (SEC Network). Below, we analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s lines around the Ball State vs. Georgia odds, and make our expert college football picks and predictions.

Georgia, as expected, steamrolled the Tennessee-Martin Skyhawks 48-7 last  Saturday. QB Carson Beck has taken over the quarterback duties and threw for 294 yards and a TD  while RB Kendall Milton led the way with 53 rushing yards. Georgia took a 31-0 lead into the 4th quarter, but failed to cover as a 50-point favorite. Georgia is No. 1 in the USA TODAY Sports U.S. LBM Coaches Poll.

Ball State lost to the Kentucky Wildcats, a team on the edge of the top 25. The Cardinals were up 7-3 at the end of the 1st quarter, but were down 23-7 at half and lost 44-14. QB Kadin Semonza ended the game with 165 yards and a TD as the Mid-American Conference team failed to cover as a 25-point underdog.

Ball State at Georgia picks and predictions

Prediction

Georgia 45, Ball State 10

Moneyline

PASS.

This is a lopsided matchup, and there are no moneyline odds as they would be heavily favoring the home side. Even if you can find them, there’s no reason to bet anything on the moneyline here.

Against the spread

BET BALL STATE +42.5 (-110).

The Cardinals put up a fight against Kentucky, and true freshman Semonza played well. He is technically the backup to graduate transfer QB Layne Hatcher, who also didn’t throw an interception against the Wildcats.

Georgia will have a stark advantage in the trenches, as did Kentucky. However, the lack of turnovers from the Cardinals against a strong Wildcats defense was paramount to keeping it close in the 1st half, and that should help them cover Saturday.

Ball State was able to hold its own for a bit, and Georgia also took off the gas on UT-Martin and sailed into the victory. The Bulldogs’ lack of desire to put it on UT-Martin coupled with the Cardinals’ quality first half makes Ball State the better option here.

Expect the same here and for Georgia to struggle to cover a 6-score spread. Back BALL STATE +42.5 (-110).

Over/Under

LEAN OVER 52.5 (-110).

The Cardinals put up 14 points on Kentucky and allowed 44. The Wildcats offense also didn’t perform well until the 2nd quarter, scoring 41 in the final 45 minutes. Ball State’s defense may struggle to keep up with Georgia’s offense. The Over 49 hit in that matchup.

For Georgia, it started slow as well, scoring just 17 points in the 1st half and 31 in the 2nd. The Bulldogs should be more warmed up early on in this matchup and come out aggressive. Georgia went Under 56.5 in that matchup but will get a lower total here against a team that allowed 44 to Kentucky.

Expect Georgia to come out hot and take OVER 52.5 (-110).

Georgia at Auburn picks and predictions

Prediction

Auburn 73, Georgia 63

Moneyline

AVOID.

Even though the Tigers are heavily favored at home, taking them to win straight up isn’t advised at the current odds (-800).

Against the spread

While Auburn should secure the victory, GEORGIA +11.5 (-105) is an enticing wager with it being such a massive spread. The Bulldogs defeated the Tigers 76-64 earlier this season as a 6.5-point underdog as the 135,5 Over cashed.

Georgia is 5-2 ATS in its last 7 games following a win. Meanwhile, Auburn is 2-11 ATS in its last 13 games following an ATS win.

Over/Under

UNDER 141.5 (-105) is how I’d wager on the total with how these teams perform offensively. Both teams shoot under 34% from 3-point range and convert fewer than 74% of their free throws.
