The Warriors continued a wild trend of winning a title every year Kendrick Lamar releases an album

It’s not a Warriors championship year without new Kendrick Lamar.

The Golden State Warriors are world champions. And if you’ve been paying attention, there was an easy way to predict that outcome — and the next.

By now, I’m sure you’re wondering what this special formula is, that way you can cash in on their odds the next time it says to bet Golden State. So allow me to let you in on this little secret: it’s Kendrick Lamar.

Wait, Kendrick Lamar the rapper?

That’s right. Each of the last four times the Compton MC has released an album, the Warriors have won a title. Sure, it’s not the most foolproof formula, but it has been bearing fruit throughout Golden State’s dynastic run.

The year they claimed their first title in 2015, Kendrick released To Pimp A Butterfly that March. In April 2017, he put out DAMN. before the Warriors bounced back from their 2016 loss. And when they repeat in 2018, he released the Black Panther soundtrack that February.

Like the Warriors, Kendrick had been on a bit of a hiatus since that last title but re-emerged with Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers in May. And what do you know, the Warriors are back at the top of the mountain. If that ain’t symmetry, I don’t know what is.

All I can say is keep an eye out for Kendrick’s next release before betting on the Warriors to win it all.

Why Kendrick Lamar’s new album could mean the Warriors are about to beat the Celtics in the NBA Finals

Coincidence?

Kendrick Lamar finally dropped a new album in 2022, with his fantastic Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers giving fans what they’ve been wanting for years.

And it could be a sign that the Golden State Warriors are about to take down the Boston Celtics in the 2022 NBA Finals.

Let’s explain: Someone on Reddit noticed that every time Lamar has given the world a new album, the Dubs have won it all.

In 2015, To Pimp a Butterfly came out and Steph Curry and Co. won their first title. In 2017? Damn and the Warriors won again. In 2018, it was Black Panther: The Album. (Note that the Warriors didn’t even make the playoffs in 2012 when Good Kid, M.A.A.D City came out, but OK!)

Since then? No titles for the Warriors and no Lamar album. Hmmm!

We’ll see if that trend continues!

Kendrick Lamar’s new ‘The Heart Part 5’ video included a Kobe Bryant deepfake tribute

Fans were emotional about this.

Kendrick Lamar dropped a new track on Sunday — The Heart Part 5 — that had everyone buzzing for a variety of reasons (anytime there’s new music from him, there’s rightfully so much buzz and there’s a new album coming soon!!).

The powerful video featured the rapper’s face staring into the camera and transforming into all kinds of familiar faces thanks to “deepfake” technology: There’s the late Nipsey Hussle, Will Smith, Kanye West … and Kobe Bryant.

As it was with the sight of Hussle, fans everywhere had a lot of emotional reactions to seeing Bryant’s face over Lamar’s. Here’s a roundup from Twitter:

Jaren Jackson Jr: I’ve been rapping …

Jaren Jackson Jr: I’ve been rapping since I was, probably, 14. I’ve been recording for the past five years. There’s a whole difference between recording and rapping. But, if you wanna rap? Lunch table with your friends? Kendrick Lamar? That’s rapping. Recording, stopping a line and moving it, creating different vibes and melodies, you can do a lot with these machines right here. I’m blessed to have it. But it’s definitely a difference in the craft. It’s something I do in my free time and I just got addicted to it.

Jay-Z is really unbeatable in ‘Verzuz’ but here are 9 rappers who might make it fun

No one is touching Hov but we would love to see these.

The internet has been in a fracas over the last few days because of one Jay-Z. The God MC. The greatest rapper of all time. Ever.

What’d he do? He let us know just how good he is.

Hov hopped in a Twitter Space with Alicia Keys earlier this week and was asked about the potential of him doing a “Verzuz” battle. For those of us who don’t know, “Verzuz” is an online platform where artists from across genres get together and play music against each other in a quasi competition.

It’s not really competitive — it’s all in fun. But it’s nice to talk about who would give who a good run.

Jay-Z set the internet ablaze by saying there was no one out there who could compete with him.

Honestly? He’s not wrong. Jay-Z is pretty untouchable on most accounts. But while Jay might be untouchable, though, that doesn’t mean he can’t do a Verzuz. Someone just has to be willing to lose. And losing can be fun!

So here are some people who might make the loss a great time at the very least.
