The Warriors continued a wild trend of winning a title every year Kendrick Lamar releases an album

It’s not a Warriors championship year without new Kendrick Lamar.

The Golden State Warriors are world champions. And if you’ve been paying attention, there was an easy way to predict that outcome — and the next.

By now, I’m sure you’re wondering what this special formula is, that way you can cash in on their odds the next time it says to bet Golden State. So allow me to let you in on this little secret: it’s Kendrick Lamar.

Wait, Kendrick Lamar the rapper?

That’s right. Each of the last four times the Compton MC has released an album, the Warriors have won a title. Sure, it’s not the most foolproof formula, but it has been bearing fruit throughout Golden State’s dynastic run.

The year they claimed their first title in 2015, Kendrick released To Pimp A Butterfly that March. In April 2017, he put out DAMN. before the Warriors bounced back from their 2016 loss. And when they repeat in 2018, he released the Black Panther soundtrack that February.

Like the Warriors, Kendrick had been on a bit of a hiatus since that last title but re-emerged with Mr. Morale & The Big Steppers in May. And what do you know, the Warriors are back at the top of the mountain. If that ain’t symmetry, I don’t know what is.

All I can say is keep an eye out for Kendrick’s next release before betting on the Warriors to win it all.
