Elina Svitolina had to miss a Harry Styles concert for a Wimbledon match, but got the sweetest invite from him instead

Got a Wimbledon win and a personal invite from Harry Styles. Not a bad day.

Ukranian tennis player Elina Svitolina had plans for July 8. Really, really important plans that included seeing international superstar singer Harry Styles perform in Vienna. Instead, she had to cancel them so she could play in the fourth round of Wimbledon against No. 19 Victoria Azarenka.

Ranked No. 76, Svitolina must not have thought she’d make it this far in the prestigious tennis tournament when she bought the tickets. Instead, she moved steadily through each round, dropping just one set and beating the likes of Venus Williams, No. 28 Elise Mertens and Sofia Kenin to set up the match with Azarenka.

While she may have missed out on seeing the incredible Harry’s House album performed live in Vienna, it (was probably) worth it to get the win and move on to the quarterfinals.

Post match, Svitolina said she hoped Harry was watching.

But her dream of seeing Styles in concert isn’t over. Thanks to some tagging and the moment going viral, Harry himself saw that she missed the show and used an Instagram reply to invite her to any of his remaining four shows in Europe.

Svitolina next plays on July 11. If she keeps winning, she would play in the semifinals on July 13 and the finals July 15. Styles’ four remaining shows are July 12 (Barcelona, Spain), July 14 (Lavaplés, Spain), July 18 (Lisbon, Portugal) and July 22 (Reggio Emilia, Italy).

Sounds like this could work, “As it Was.”

Harry Styles played a round of golf at St. Andrews and drew a British Open-sized crowd

Harry Styles knew exactly what to do on his off day in Scotland

Harry Styles is currently jetting around the world on tour for his latest Grammy-winning album, Harry’s House, but given some of the photos coming out of Scotland this week you’d think he entered some type of Pro-Am golf tournament.

Ahead of two shows in Edinburgh this weekend, Styles popped over to St. Andrews — the home of golf — on Thursday to get a quick round in at the iconic public course. It did not take long for fans to learn what was going on and rush over to the grounds to catch a glimpse of Styles on the links.

By the time he reached the 18th green, so many people had packed in around The Old Course it looked like a full blown Open Championship was going on.

On the one hand, it might not have been the most fun for Harry to play a round on his off day with a massive crowd following his every move. It’s not like he’s a professional golfer used to these environments. Then again…he’s not a professional golfer!

Think about how absolutely thrilling it would be to not only get to play St. Andrews but also experience the same environment the best in the world get during major championships. Walking up the fairway on No. 18 with the crowd cheering you on is daydream material. It doesn’t get much cooler than that. You’ve also got to imagine the adrenaline of playing in front of that big of a crowd added some extra distance to his drives.

The moral of the story here is that more prestigious courses should open their doors to the public. Looking at you, Augusta National.

5 great things about the 2023 Grammys, including Lizzo, Harry Styles and that astonishing hip-hop tribute

Lizzo! 50 years of hip-hop! Harry Styles!

The 2023 Grammys have come and gone, leaving everyone with plenty of Beyoncé takes, new Ben Affleck memes and stellar performances to rewatch over and over again.

The night’s biggest moments featured Beyoncé both becoming the most-decorated artist in Grammy history and controversially losing the Best Album honor for a fourth time. Queen Bey was also late to the show because she was stuck in Los Angeles traffic.

The show also featured some hilarious Ben Affleck clips, some incredible tribute performances and great little moments like Adele meeting Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

The Grammys always land with a bang and leave plenty of people both amazed and frustrated.

Rather than dwell on the negative, let’s break down five great things about this year’s installment.

Beyoncé losing Best Album for a fourth time at the Grammys had fans absolutely outraged

Beyoncé got snubbed for Best Album … again.

The Grammys are known for stirring up controversy with their Best Album picks, and this year’s was certainly no exception.

Rather than finally reward music megastar Beyoncé with her first Best Album award, the Recording Academy opted for British pop star Harry Styles and his album Harry’s House.

While Styles’ album earned lots of love and got plenty of airplay, Beyoncé’s unfortunate history with the Grammys’ top category resurfaced after her fourth loss in the category.

She was also nominated for groundbreaking works like 2008’s I Am… Sasha Fierce, 2013’s self-titled Beyoncé and 2016’s Lemonade.

While Beyoncé became the Grammys’ most-awarded artist of all time on Sunday night, she still couldn’t take home the show’s top honor for her 2022 album Renaissance.

It’s a bit like how the Academy Awards didn’t give Martin Scorsese the Best Directing Oscar until 2006’s The Departed. You just home the Recording Academy won’t wait that long to recognize Beyoncé for the top Grammy out there.

Let’s just say there were some folks who were not happy about Beyoncé’s latest Best Album snub.

Giants’ DC Wink Martindale compared Kevin O’Connell to pop star

Giants’ DC Wink Martindale compared Kevin O’Connell to pop star

The Vikings are slated to host the New York Giants this Saturday at US Bank Stadium, and just like every other week in the NFL, teams will hold press conferences leading up to the game.

Typically, the press conferences are just the coaches and coordinators talking about the opposing team they are going to face and which players they’ll need to stop in order to put themselves in a position to win. Giants’ defensive coordinator Don “Wink” Martindale made things a little interesting this week when he compared Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell to a famous celebrity.

“I’m a blue collar guy going against Harry Styles.”

Martindale has been a coach in the NFL since 2004 and was probably comparing O’Connell to Styles given his age. O’Connell is the second-youngest NFL head coach at age 37.

After a quick chuckle from the media, Martindale goes on to say,

“I really like Kevin. I think he’s done a great job, not only calling the offense, but the entire team.”

We’ll see if Kevin O’Connell has any response to Martindale’s comparison, but he is right about O’Connell doing a great job this season. O’Connell has led the Vikings to an 11-3 record and NFC North title in his first year as head coach.

Watch: Harry Styles can absolutely stripe it off the tee

Who knew Styles could sing AND swing?

Not only would Harry Styles steal your girl, but he could probably steal your money on the golf course.

The Grammy award winner and star of the newly released ‘Don’t Worry Darling’ was captured on video teeing it up in Chicago this week.

We’ve seen countless celebrity swings over the years — some good, some bad — but Styles’ swing has to be near the top of the list.

The takeaway is a bit funky, but his action from the top through impact is as good as it gets when it comes to amateur golfers.

And nobody can complain about a perfect butter-cut down the middle of the fairway.

Harry Styles shares the story behind his Green Bay Packers tattoo

Harry Styles is a huge Packers fan, but this is still funny.

Harry Styles loves the Green Bay Packers.

The English musician and former One Direction has shown his fandom over the years in so many ways, including wearing a cheesehead and carrying a Packers flag over his shoulder while performing in Milwaukee in 2015. He also has a small tattoo of the team’s “G” logo on the inside of his arm just above his elbow.

So recently during an interview with NPR — which also followed a famous Tiny Desk concert — Styles spoke about his love for the Packers and how it originated.

“When I was about six years old, I fell off my bike, and I cut my knee,” he said, jokingly explaining his fandom to NPR’s Stephen Thompson while they both wore Green Bay jerseys. “And I bled green and gold, and that was it.”

But really, he said a friend from Wisconsin introduced him to the NFL, and the Packers’ games were the first ones he watched. And then when he’d play Madden, he’d always be Green Bay.

Styles also shared the funny story for how that tattoo came to be. He explained that before he and (we assume) some friends were going to watch a Packers game, he made a wager:

“We said, ‘If they win the game, then I’ll get a Packers tattoo. And if they don’t, I won’t.’ So, I think this was maybe 2012, maybe 2013, and I only had time the day before to go and get the tattoo. So I thought, ‘Oh, I’ll just get it because they’re going to win.’ So I got the tattoo, and then they lost. So yeah, now I have a Green Bay Packers tattoo.”

He noted that the tattoo is black and white, so it looks like the University of Georgia’s logo (although he misspoke and said Georgia State).

Other reasons why he loves the Packers? He said because the team is owned by the fans and “also a big fan of cheese, so yeah, Packers were the team for me.”
