Why Keanu Reeves would be the perfect guest picker for Ohio State vs. Indiana

ESPN’s College Gameday will have an array of options for their guest picker for Ohio State-Indiana. Here’s why it should be Keanu Reeves.

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been rolling this season, and they are surging as the Indiana Hoosiers come to town.

The Hoosiers rank 5th in the country, and while their strength of schedule has been heavily criticized, they have still come out on top in every game. Regardless of your opponent, that’s impressive.

Ohio State will remain at No. 2 as the new polls are released.

Given this will be No. 5 vs. No. 2, ESPN’s College Gameday, which is a popular college football show that visits the campus hosting a high-profile college game that week, will be in Columbus.

Part of the show is where they pick the winner of the game they are previewing, which will be Ohio State vs. Indiana. They have a guest picker as well which is typically a celebrity.

Keanu Reeves, one of the world’s most popular actors, could be a fun selection. When breaking down a list of the prospects that Gameday could choose from, The Columbus Dispatch named Reeves among the many other options.

Why? Well, he’s been an Ohio State quarterback before. “Reeves did not attend OSU but was a quarterback for the Buckeyes in two movies: Point Break and The Replacements,” Ehsan Kassim wrote.

Reeves is an ultra-popular personality and has played an Ohio State quarterback in hit movies.

While there are numerous other options as well, that seems like the perfect combination, and he certainly is a person who would bring the energy to the crowd as well.

John Wick: Chapter 4 shows exactly what this franchise can be

John Wick is at its best with the latest entry into the intense franchise.

The most recent entry into the John Wick franchise, John Wick: Chapter 4, hit theaters on Friday, March 24. It’s undeniably a success both in reviews with a 95 percent on Rotten Tomatoes — from critics and audiences — and in box office, opening with the highest ticket sales number — $73.5 million — of the franchise.

If you’ve seen any of the preceding John Wick films, you know that they’re far more than brash, emotionless and mindless endeavors. But Chapter 4 takes it to a whole new level. It’s a visually stunning movie, and there really aren’t enough words to describe just what they achieve with the cinematography and colors and shots.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is certainly not a perfect movie. With a nearly three-hour run time, it’s probably about 30 minutes too long. The High Table storyline about who is excommunicado and what all the unseen powers care about that got a little out-of-hand in John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum still exist.

But at some point, you just sit back and enjoy watching incredible set pieces featuring some of the most ridiculous fight scenes you’ve ever seen. If you’re looking for Keanu Reeves driving around the Arc de Triomphe in a muscle car with no doors as a series of assassins try to keep him from a duel at Sacre Coeur, well, you’re in the right place.

It’s a movie that decks the major villain — Bill Skarsgård’s “Marquis” — in impeccable clothing and takes us from the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin to the Louvre in Paris.

Plus, it has Donnie Yen.

Yen’s character Caine is a blind assassin, trained in martial arts and carrying a very sharp cane. The role is similar to his Chirrut Îmwe in Rogue One, but dressed in sharp turtlenecks and cool jackets.

Keanu Reeves speaks no more than six words together at a time, uttering just 380 words total across the entire 169-minute movie. For those wondering, that works out to about 2.2 words per minute. And it works.

Throw in a stellar supporting cast that includes Ian McShane, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson and the late Lance Reddick, and you have the formula for arguably the best entry into the series. And with the success Chapter 4 has seen, don’t count out a fifth entry (no matter how improbable that may seem).

Oh, and don’t worry. No dogs are harmed in this movie.

John Wick: Chapter 4 is in theaters nationwide.

Whatever this John Wick: Chapter 4 stuntman is getting paid, it’s not nearly enough

We’re in pain just watching this.

The latest installment of the John Wick franchise — John Wick: Chapter 4 — blasts its way into theaters on March 24th, and excitement is high. When we last saw Mr. Wick, he was looking rough (what’s new). Winston (Ian McShane) had shot him atop the roof of the Continental Hotel — the hub for all the assassins — and Wick (Keanu Reeves) had fallen to his assumed death.

Well that wouldn’t make for a good sequel, so we saw a very hurt Wick dropped off to The Bowery King (Laurence Fishburne) for care. In the latest installment, Wick is once again out for justice.

While the John Wick franchise revolves around Reeves as the titular dog-loving man with a grudge, none of this would be possible without the support of incredible stunt work.

One such stunt was shared on Twitter, showing a stuntman tumbling aggressively down an escalator before several actors — including Reeves — follow for the scene. Whatever this person is being paid, it needs to be tripled.

Get them a good chiropractor and a spa day. ASAP.

The Matrix Awakens is our first look at true next-gen graphics

The demo, made with Unreal Engine 5, shows some mind-blowing sequences.

PS5 and Xbox Series X/S owners had almost given up on the idea of watching some proper next-gen graphics after spending a year on consoles that haven’t been able to provide a quantum leap yet. Performance-wise, players have witnessed a decent jump ahead thanks to 120fps support and bigger, more refined open-world environments. However, 2021 is not over yet and has one final surprise. The Matrix Awakens is a true look into the future.

‘No’ – Keanu Reeves when asked if Neo should be in Mortal Kombat

Neo won’t test his might.

Keanu Reeves isn’t keen on the idea of his characters being in Mortal Kombat.

During an interview with Esquire, Reeves took the time to answer some burning fan questions. One of which asked whether or not he would be into the idea of either Neo from The Matrix  or John Wick from the John Wick  films being guest characters in a Mortal Kombat  game.

“If it was up to me? No,” Reeves said  via Esquire. “Mortal Kombat  is awesome in so many ways. But I think, you know, Neo, John Wick… Yeah, man, they’re doing their own thing. Mortal Kombat’s  doing their own thing.”

The Matrix Resurrections  star sure didn’t mince words. Ed Boon will be heartbroken.

Mortal Kombat  has a long, storied history of crossovers with famous film characters. On several occasions, Jason Voorhees, the Predator, Rambo, RoboCop, and loads more have clashed steel with Scorpion and Sub Zero. Shame that Neo himself isn’t into the idea of stepping into Outworld, though.

Crossovers are all the rage in video games these days. League of Legends  is doing crossovers with Among usCall of Duty is likely crossing over with Attack on TitanFortnite does crossovers with  every brand in the known universe.

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter have an excellent message for the graduates of San Dimas High School

Bill and Ted have some wise words for the Class of 2020.

Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, otherwise known as Ted Theodore Logan and Bill S. Preston Esquire from the totally excellent Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure, have a message for the 2020 graduating class of the real life San Dimas High School.

In a short video, Reeves and Winter wished the class exceptional good fortune and good luck as they step into this totally messed up world.

“We know it’s a tough time, having to do this virtually,” Winters said, and then Reeves follows it up with a very convincing, “UGH.”

“We want to wish you the best of luck moving forward,” Winters said.

“Congratulations to the class of 2020. Well done!” Reeves chimes in and then offers up some truly awesome finger guns.

For those who aren’t immersed in Bill and Ted backstory, San Dimas is the town where Bill and Ted live and the high school plays a key role in the first movie. What’s most charming about that first film is, actually, how much both Bill and Ted love San Dimas. So, it makes sense Winters and Reeves would offer up some good vibes to its current graduates.

It’s a short and awkward video, but that’s what it makes it weirdly charming? Who knows, maybe I just needed to see Keanu’s face at a moment when the very fabric of our democracy hangs by a thread.

Anyway,  their main takeaway is, as always, to be excellent to each other and party on.
