Kanye West is dropping ‘Donda 2’ but we’ll never know if it’s good because no one will actually hear it and here’s why

Ain’t nobody paying $200 for an album that probably won’t be finished

Normally, when Ye — formerly known as Kanye West — releases an album y’all start wylin out no matter what it sounds like even if it’s Yeezus level bad.

And folks would undoubtedly do the same thing for Donda 2 whenever he chooses to drop that. People have been waiting for the promised sequel to West’s ‘Donda’ album released last summer from the moment the first album dropped.

There’s only one problem, though. Most people probably aren’t going to hear this album. Or, at least not initially, anyway.

That’s because West is, apparently, only dropping the album on his stem player device. Remember that? The device that Ye dropped following Donda that allowed you to remix any one of his songs on there?

Yeah, you need that thing to listen to ‘Donda 2.’ That’s according to West himself, by the way, who said the album won’t hit any streaming platforms.

He posted this on Instagram letting fans know.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CaHPNNNrP8B/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=dfdadfe0-686d-4b8a-957c-2bd752497490

“We did it Don’t matter what happens 2mrw This happened tonight For the first time in a long time I feel alive we did it kid we did lord lift me up things change let’s keep it burning,”

So, yeah. Don’t look for the album on Apple Music or Tidal or any of that. It ain’t there.

He explained his reasoning a bit, though. It’s wild but it’s not without at least some thought.

Kanye West holding a scrawled-on notepad has become Twitter’s new favorite meme

This meme is everywhere.

We’ve seen many a Kanye West meme over the years, and the latest one is now EVERYWHERE.

Some background: Earlier in the week, West posted some stuff on Instagram that seemed to indicate he had a problem with Pete Davidson dating West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian. Then, he posted a photo of himself holding a yellow legal pad with the words “MY ACCOUNT IS NOT HACKED 2 13 22.”

Well, of course everyone decided to use that photo to make memes. And now it’s everywhere. Here’s a roundup of some of the Kanye legal pad memes we’ve seen on social media over the past few days:

Antonio Brown’s tweets suggest Kanye West wants to buy the Broncos

It appears that Kanye West is interested in buying the Broncos, if Antonio Brown’s tweets are to be believed.

The Denver Broncos are up for sale and it appears that they have drawn interest from a company represented by an unexpected suitor — free agent wide receiver Antonio Brown.

Brown, 33, has been one of the NFL’s best receivers of the last decade, but his seemingly disruptive antics have resulted in him bouncing between four different teams over the last four seasons.

Brown was cut by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in January after the receiver had a bizarre outburst during a game against the New York Jets.

Brown now serves as the president of Donda Sports, which was founded by music mogul Kanye West (who is now known as “Ye”).

The Broncos will be sold to the highest bidder, pending NFL approval (a majority of owners have to sign off on the team’s next owner).

Candidates to buy Denver’s NFL franchise include Hollywood mogul Byron Allen and an investment group that includes Dean Metropoulos. John Elway and Peyton Manning are also interested in becoming minority owners.

It remains to be seen if Brown’s tweets will foreshadow any actual interest from Ye and his company.

You absolutely have to watch this edit of RJ Barrett’s game-winner edited to Kanye West’s ‘Runaway’

Come for the Kanye West version. Stay for the “Bing Bong” version.

There are few things in sports more exciting than a buzzer-beater to win a game and Knicks wing RJ Barrett reminded us why on Thursday.

After a hot start to the season, New York currently has a losing record in 2021-22. If the season ended today, they would have to win multiple play-in games in order to make the postseason. It’s not exactly the step forward they had hoped to make after an exciting playoff run last year.

That’s why, when facing against their longtime rival Boston Celtics on Jan. 6, it was a must-win game. But fortunately for the Knicks, as the clock expired, Barrett sealed the deal with a jaw-dropping 3-pointer to win the game.

It’s exactly the morale boost that the franchise — and more importantly, the fan base — needed. As part of the celebration, there were some awesome edits of the buzzer-beater that circulated on social media. One of my favorites was the supercut that included every angle captured on camera.

However, nothing beats the contribution from Knicks Film School’s Andrew Claudio. He edited Barrett’s game-winning shot over Kanye West’s hit 2010 song “Runaway” from My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

As the low pitch piano notes build, that song does a tremendous job of building suspense until the accompaniment kicks in around thirty seconds into the track.

Claudio did a fantastic job of synching the game-winner to reach its climax just as the song takes on a new life with more instrumentation and power. It’s a nearly flawless edit.

However, I couldn’t help but notice someone respond to Claudio telling him that he should have used the “Bing Bong” version of the song courtesy of @misc_mashups on TikTok. It’s only fitting considering that those two words have become the catchphrase of the team!

I was pretty surprised to learn that there was a “Bing Bong” edit of the Kanye West song. But the rules of the internet dictate that if something exists, there is probably a version of it in your fandom.

So if Claudio had decided to use the “Coney West” version of the song (which auto-tunes this Sidetalk video to create Kanye’s music, even including the iconic line that mistakenly calls the U.S. president Joe Byron) when he made the edit, it would have likely looked a little something like this:

At this point in the season, the most diehard Knicks fans might feel “Bing Bong” is a bit overplayed. Their rallying cry was used against them when they began losing more often, which is never fun.

However, if you’re a Knicks fan, it’s hard to dislike anything when it’s edited over Barrett’s first game-winner of his career.

Kanye West absolutely broke the internet with his set list for the Free Larry Hoover benefit concert with Drake

Wow, this set is pretty great.

After years of beef and animosity for reasons most of us will never know, Drake and Kanye have apparently made amends and are friends again.

Well, at least, they’re friendly enough to perform at the same venue now, anyway.

Houston Legend J Prince brokered peace between the two hip-hop legends and had them perform at a “Free Larry Hoover” benefit concert on Friday put on by Amazon. This was easily one of the most anticipated shows we’ve had in years, not only because of their beef but because these are two absolute musical titans.

And, of course, Ye absolutely lived up to that billing with his setlist from the night. Not only did he play tracks off his new ‘Donda’ album, but he also played the old hits from OG albums like College Dropout, 808’s and Heartbreaks, Late Registration, Graduation and more.

He even played stuff from Yeezus which, you know, isn’t good. But still! He played it!

It was truly a sight to see. Kanye hasn’t even mentioned some of these songs in a decade. He’s never been one to look back on past work.

The internet absolutely loved it.

SPECIAL DELIVERY: The Yeezy 700 MNVN isn’t the best from the line, but it might be the most necessary

Kanye is keeping his promise to the people.

Alright, look. Y’all know me. Y’all know Yeezy isn’t my favorite. And neither is Kanye West. You’ve seen my Yeezus review my now, certainly.

Let’s just say Ye isn’t…my vibe.

And neither is the 700 MNVN. Don’t get me wrong. I do like the 700 as a sneaker. It’s a really good shoe and checks every box you could possibly want it to. But the MNVN is so totally different than any 700 we’re used to.

It takes the original 700 silhouette and scales it back a bit with a different material on the upper as opposed to the high quality materials we’re used to.

Is it as good? No. But it is far more necessary. And that’s why, even if this isn’t my favorite shoe, I have to respect it.
