The Chargers and Jets are set to square off on Monday in a primetime showdown.

Here’s how Los Angeles and New York stack up statistically ahead of the Week 9 matchup:

2 more former 49ers defensive coaches hired by Robert Saleh, Jets

Two more 49ers defensive coaches are joining Robert Saleh’s coaching staff with the New York Jets.

The migration of coaches from the San Francisco 49ers’ staff to the New York Jets’ staff didn’t end with Robert Saleh and Mike LaFleur heading east. Two more coaches who were with the 49ers last season, Tony Oden and Mike Ruttenberg, will both join Saleh’s defensive staff with the Jets according to reports.

NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reported Oden would take over as a senior assistant and cornerbacks coach in New York. Oden joined the 49ers’ staff last season as the defensive backs and cornerbacks coach, so his role will be similar with his new club.

Ruttenberg was the passing game coordinator for San Francisco last season in his only year on the staff. He’ll be taking on a new role with the Jets and coaching their linebackers according to NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport.

The 49ers in late January added former Lions defensive coordinator Cory Undlin to their staff. He’ll absorb both the roles vacated by Oden and Ruttenberg. ESPN’s Field Yates reported Undlin would be the passing game coordinator and coach the defensive backs.

Georgia LB great re-upping with the New York Jets

Georgia football great Jordan Jenkins is re-upping with the New York Jets.

Former Georgia linebacker Jordan Jenkins is resigning with the club that drafted him, per Ian Rapoport.

After starting in 50 of the New York Jets games over the past four seasons and leading the team in sacks last year, the former Harris County High (GA) four-star recruit is inking a one-year extension worth $5M.

Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that the Jets and the 2016 third-round pick will sign the 25 year old free agent mainly due to Jenkin’s relationship and improvement with defensive coordinator Gregg Williams.

The 6-3, 259-pound Jenkins had 15 sacks and 28 quarterback hits in the past two seasons. He has earned approximately $4.3 million during the past four seasons. He will be an unrestricted free agent after the 2020 season.

7 Georgia Bulldogs taken in CBSSports’ full NFL mock draft

CBS Sports released a full NFL mock draft that included 7 Georgia football players being taken.

Most NFL mock drafts that we’ve seen over the past couple of months have had 2-3 Georgia football players going in the first round.

However, in CBS Sports’ most recent 7-round mock draft, the outlet has just one Dawg taken in the first round, and that’s left tackle Andrew Thomas.

Analyst Chris Trapasso projects the New York Jets to take Thomas with the No. 11 overall pick in the NFL Draft, which is currently scheduled for April 23 in Las Vegas.

On Thomas, Trapasso wrote:

Jets GM Joe Douglas knows how vital an offensive line is after his time in Philadelphia. Thomas was outstanding the two seasons at Georgia and has length for days.

Trapasso has Thomas ranked as the 15th overall player in the draft class and 4th ranked offensive tackle.

In total, Trapasso has seven Georgia players going in the draft.
