2023 NFL draft: 4 interior offensive linemen for Chargers to watch at combine

Here are a few interior offensive linemen at the NFL Scouting Combine that the Los Angeles Chargers could target in the draft.

The on-field portion of the NFL Combine is underway, marking the start of the testing circuit that propels some prospects into the stratosphere while ruining the stock of others.

On the interior of the offensive line, the focus is depth. Matt Feiler is a likely cap casualty, pushing Jamaree Salyer into the left guard spot. That leaves Brenden Jaimes as the only backup under contract as of this week.

So, while not a premium position of need after spending big over the past few seasons, expect a pick or two in the later rounds.

Podcast: Who could the Browns target at center in the draft?

What center prospects could the Browns look at in April?

The center position is an interesting one for the Cleveland Browns this offseason as starter Ethan Pocic is a free agent. The team may not be able to re-sign Pocic this offseason after the career year he had with them in 2022. There’s also the question of the penciled-in starter Nick Harris who tore his ACL in the preseason.

In the end, the team might re-sign Pocic with Harris as the backup but they also may look to the draft to add another player to the mix. You can listen to this podcast episode here to see what prospects at the center position the team should be targeting in the draft.

NFL draft: 49ers add help in trenches, secondary in 3-round mock

A mock draft where the 49ers actually pick!

Shoutout to our friends at the Draft Wire, who put together a mock draft that even the 49ers could participate in.

One-round mocks were out of the question for 2022 and 2023 when the 49ers traded those picks to move up for Trey Lance in March of 2021. Then the 49ers eliminated themselves from two-round mocks when they swung a deal for Christian McCaffrey in late October.

Luckily, Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling dove deep on his latest mock, which reaches all the way to the end of the third round, where the 49ers hold three compensatory selections.

San Francisco will have a handful of needs to address with their 10 selections, and they hit on three of them with those three third-round choices:

7 offensive line prospects for the Eagles to watch at 2023 Senior Bowl

7 offensive line prospects for the Philadelphia Eagles to watch at the 2023 Senior Bowl

The NFL draft starts in Mobile, and even with the Eagles preparing to face the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVII, all eyes this week will be on Alabama, for the 2023 Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Philadelphia has Andre Dillard (LT) and Isaac Seumalo (OG) set to hit unrestricted free agency, and Jason Kelce could decide to retire.

With kickoff from Mobile quickly approaching, here are seven offensive line prospects to watch at the Senior Bowl on Saturday.

7 prospects Giants should watch at the Senior Bowl

The New York Giants will have their eyes on all players at the 2023 Senior Bowl but these 7 are deserving of extra scouting attention.

The Senior Bowl will be held this coming Saturday, February 4, in Mobile, Alabama officially kicking off the NFL draft season as draft-eligible prospects face off in the annual all-star event.

The Giants’ front office has traditionally come away from the event impressed with what they saw as they have drafted three recent MVPs from the game: Davis Webb (2017), Kyle Lauretta (2018), and Daniel Jones (2019).

Who will impress them this year? Here’s a quick list of prospects they could be interested in.

Keep in mind, the Senior Bowl is for “every player eligible to participate in an all-star game as either a 2018 high school graduate or true four-year player (with five or more games played in three previous seasons). This list does not include many true or redshirt juniors who could become eligible as December 2022 (or earlier) graduates.”

10 potential Chargers targets to watch during Senior Bowl week: Offense

Highlighting a handful of offensive players at the Senior Bowl who could be on the Chargers’ radar.

The last major all-star game of the circuit, Mobile’s Senior Bowl, has become a football pilgrimage for many players and media members alike.

Chargers quarterbacks Justin Herbert is a Senior Bowl alum, as is 2022 first-round pick Zion Johnson. Los Angeles has historically used the event as a guideline, drafting at least four participants in Mobile in each of the last three seasons.

Here are ten offensive prospects who could join the club with a strong week in Alabama.

Stock up, stock down from Senior Bowl National team practice

The National team had some standouts on Tuesday afternoon’s first practice. @TheRealForno breaks down his biggest risers and fallers

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is a place where all 32 teams and numerous members of the media congregate to look at the best senior NFL draft prospects. The Minnesota Vikings have a contingent down there and are trying to gather information to help them make more informed draft decisions.

During the week, it’s all about practice and seeing how the players match up against their equals and see how they handle drills. After the first day of practice, here are 10 guys that saw their stock go up and down on Tuesday.

Notre Dame sees just 4 players invited to NFL combine

Surprised there weren’t more?

When the NFL scouting combine takes place in Indianapolis in February, Notre Dame will be represented.  It won’t be particularly loaded with Golden Domers but it will be represented.

Offensive lineman [autotag]Jarrett Patterson[/autotag], tight end [autotag]Michael Mayer[/autotag], safety [autotag]Brandon Joseph[/autotag], and edge rusher [autotag]Isaiah Foskey[/autotag] were all invited.  None of those players are particularly surprising to hear be invited but perhaps the ones that weren’t come as at least a little bit of surprise.

Both [autotag]Jayson Ademilola[/autotag] and [autotag]Justin Ademilola[/autotag] didn’t get an invitation after having solid careers on Notre Dame’s defensive line.  Offensive lineman Josh Lugg was also left of the list of invitees.  Perhaps none of the three on their own are that surprising to see get invited but if given those three names I would have guessed at least one would have gotten an invite based simply on what Notre Dame has put in the NFL from their positions in recent years.

Vikings 2023 NFL mock draft 1.0: Cornerback addressed early

In our first Vikings’ mock draft of the season, they go cornerback with their first pick

The Minnesota Vikings are in quite a position this offseason. After trying to run it back with some tweaks in 2022, they won 13 games, but couldn’t get over the hump once the wild-card round came about.

That leaves this off-season. What do the Vikings choose to do? Do they tear it down or try to run it back with a lighter shell than they did last season?

Each Wednesday until the NFL draft kicks off in late April, we will be doing a Vikings mock draft exploring different potential scenarios. This one has the Vikings addressing cornerback in the first round.
