Oklahoma has sent an offer out to class of 2023 cornerback Jamel Johnson out of Arlington, Texas.
It’s never too early to get in on some young talent who could become a big fish down the road. Oklahoma has sent out an offer to class of 2023 cornerback Jamel Johnson from Seguin High School in Arlington, Texas.
Currently just a sophomore, Johnson has decent size and ball skills that could develop quickly under the right coaching. While his recruiting profile has him listed as a cornerback, he also plays wide receiver currently.
Still with two more full high school football seasons to develop further, getting the offer in now can really help you down the road in the recruiting process. The Sooners are far from the first though, as Johnson has a medley of offers under his belt already highlighted by Alabama, LSU, and Michigan.
Johnson has good anticipation and solid tackling ability, with some obvious room for growth in the coming years. Given his age, he seems to be on the right track to being a very quality football player by the time he hits college ball. The offers will continue to pile in for him over time, holding now 11 total offers with Oklahoma’s in on Thursday.
