Alabama RB Jam Miller to return to Tuscaloosa for 2025 season

Crimson Tide starting RB Jam Miller to return to Alabama for senior season.

In the world of NIL and the transfer portal, it is almost impossible to predict what will happen once the portal window opens up. Fans of the Alabama Crimson Tide have grown to be quite familiar with it after a plethora of departures following Nick Saban’s retirement.

The start of the 2024-25 portal cycle has unfortunately been no different for the Tide with several key departures. However, that’s just the new reality of the sport and a difficulty that all programs are facing. For coaches, it makes it so difficult to make long-term plans when you don’t know who will be on campus the next semester even.

One person that Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer will be able to rely on in 2025 is RB Jam Miller who announced he will be back with the Crimson Tide next fall. With his counterpart Justice Haynes departing for the portal, it’s not a shocking move, but big for the Alabama offense nonetheless.

We are all still eagerly waiting on QB Jalen Milroe’s decision for his future, but it will be good to have a familiar face in the backfield in Miller. Milroe led the team in every rushing statistic, but Miller was the Tide’s clear No. 1 RB with 152 carries for 641 yards and seven scores. and should be an ever larger work load next fall.

The Wisconsin Badgers football team lost to Alabama 42-10 at home on Saturday. It was the team’s first loss of the year, dropping its record to 2-1 on the young season.

Wisconsin’s starting quarterback Tyler Van Dyke went down with a leg injury on the Badgers’ opening possession. He was replaced by redshirt sophomore Braedyn Locke for the remainder of the game.

Locke ended his day with 125 passing yards and a touchdown while completing 13 of 26 passes. The Badgers’ running game never found consistent success, with both Chez Mellusi and Cade Yacamelli losing back-breaking fumbles.

On the flip side, Alabama was in full command after falling behind 3-0 to start the game. Quarterback Jalen Milroe, a Heisman Trophy candidate, had himself a day. He compiled 196 passing yards and three touchdowns on 12 of 17 passing. He also added 75 rushing yards and two scores on 14 carries.

The Badgers will look to regroup during the bye week as they prepare to travel to Los Angeles, California to face USC on Sept. 28. In the meantime, here are some of the best pictures from Wisconsin’s Week 3 loss to the Crimson Tide:

Pre-Spring Position Preview: Breaking down the Alabama RBs

A closer look at the Alabama running backs ahead of spring football practice

Before we know it, new Alabama head football coach Kalen DeBoer will hit the practice field with his Crimson Tide players for the first time when spring practice gets underway in March.

With the retirement of the legendary Nick Saban, there have not been this many question marks surrounding the football program since 2007 when Saban took over.

Contrary to popular belief, Alabama still has one of the most talented rosters in the country and should be right in the thick of the college football playoff conversation.

As the anticipation builds leading up to spring practice, Roll Tide Wire will preview each position group. We have already looked at the quarterbacks, now we will move on to the running backs.

Alabama’s depth at RB could be key to success in 2024

Depth at running back won’t be an issue for Kalen DeBoer and Alabama in 2024

What an offseason it has been for the Alabama football program. Legendary head coach Nick Saban announced his retirement, Kalen DeBoer was brought in as his replacement, and we have seen the transfer portal give and take for the Crimson Tide.

Not that the storm is completely over or anything, but we do have a few moments to collect our breath and our thoughts as we start to look ahead to the 2024 season in Tuscaloosa.

Even with the roster turnover, Alabama remains extremely deep at most positions but you could make the argument that running back may be the deepest and could prove to be one of the keys to success for Coach DeBoer in year one at Alabama.

Let’s take a look at the loaded backfield for the Crimson Tide and what each player’s role could potentially be in 2024.

Roll Tide Wire takes a look at five players that could emerge for Alabama in this year’s Rose Bowl against Michigan.

Over the years, Alabama has had several players come from being “under the radar” to making an immediate impact. One player that comes to mind is former five-star quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. The Hawaii native was called on in the biggest game of his life and made a residual impact that will forever be remembered.

Now, the tables have turned and it could be someone else’s turn to have a residing effect on this year’s Rose Bowl game against Michigan. Who will it be?

Social media reacts to Alabama taking a 10-7 lead over Georgia in SEC Championship

Jalen Milroe to Jam Miller for a touchdown has Tide fans excited!

After a lackluster start offensively, Jalen Milroe and the Alabama offense connect on their first touchdown of the day to give the Crimson Tide a 10-7 lead over the Georgia Bulldogs.

Milroe was able to find a streaking Jam Miller on a wheel route out of the backfield for a 28-yard touchdown.

Milroe has struggled through the air early on, but Alabama’s running game has been strong led by senior Roydell Williams who is filling in for the injured Jase McClellan.

Social media is loving Alabama’s recent play in Atlanta and was quick to react to the Tide taking a second-quarter lead over the Bulldogs.

Nick Saban provides brief injury report after first practice of fall camp

Alabama football head coach Nick Saban provides brief injury report after first practice of fall camp!

On Thursday, [autotag]Nick Saban[/autotag] and the Alabama football team returned to the practice field to begin preseason practice for the 2023 season. Excitement and anticipation are in the air as the Tide faithful have hopes for the team to hoist another national championship trophy.

Following Thursday’s practice, Coach Saban would address members of the media to give some insights on the first day and to provide an update on the team. Fortunately, for the Tide, the injury report is rather short as fall camp opens. Saban provided this brief injury report before fielding questions on Thursday.

“From a personnel standpoint, Thaiu Jones-Bell had some medical issues. So he’s on a medical this year. I think everybody worked together, except Jamarion Miller will be out for a couple days. He’s got a strained quad.

Roll Tide Wire reported before practice that Thaiu Jones-Bell was no longer listed on the official Alabama football roster, but the Jam Miller news was something that had not been reported on yet.

It appears Miller’s injury is not significant which is good. news considering he is expected to play a pivotal role in Alabama’s rushing attack this fall. During his freshman season in 2022, Miller rushed for 223 yards and two touchdowns on 33 carries.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow Alabama football during fall camp and will provide any and all updates as they become available.
