Alabama vs. Notre Dame: Stream, injury report, broadcast info for Friday

Here’s how to watch the Crimson Tide’s first-round game against Notre Dame

Alabama will begin their play in the NCAA Tournament on Friday afternoon against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, who defeated Rutgers in two overtimes in their First Four matchup Wednesday evening, and if you’re wondering how you can watch the action live, you’ve come to the right place.

The Crimson Tide will enter March Madness on an unfortunate three-game losing streak after losses to Texas A&M, LSU and Vanderbilt, respectively, the latter of which coming in the quarterfinals of the SEC Tournament to force the Tide into an early exit in the event, which they won last season.

Alabama is 19-13 on the season and finished Southeastern Conference play even at 9-9. Last season in the NCAA Tournament, the Tide managed to advance all the way to the Sweet 16 before being forced out by eventual Final Four contestant UCLA. This season, they enter the tournament as the sixth seed in the West region. The region also includes No. 1 overall seed Gonzaga, whom the Tide has already defeated this season in December.

Notre Dame is 23-10 on the season and in the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2017. It’s the program’s 37th appearance in the event, good enough for ninth in the nation in NCAA tourney appearances.

Here’s when you should tune in to see the game:

5 things that went horribly wrong for Alabama basketball in the SEC Tournament

Five reasons the Tide collapsed in the SEC Tournament against Vanderbilt.

When the Crimson Tide took the floor against the Vanderbilt Commodores in the second round of the SEC Tournament, many expected Alabama to advance. That wasn’t to be, however, following a Tide collapse after stretching the lead to as many as 14 points.

The Commodores closed in and never took their foot off the gas pedal, but even more to blame is the performance of the Tide in the second half. It was a performance that clearly left a lot to be desired, especially if you’re an Alabama fan.

Let’s get into some of the things that went wrong for Alabama in the 82-76 loss to Vanderbilt.

Alabama exits SEC Tournament in first game against Vanderbilt after an 82-76 loss

Alabama takes an early exit from the SEC Tournament following an 82-76 loss to Vandy

The Alabama Crimson Tide does not look like a team that wants to achieve success in March, as evidenced by their poor performance in its first-round game against the Vanderbilt Commodores in the Southeastern Conference Tournament.

Alabama turned the ball over 16 times and allowed the Commodores to get to the free-throw line for 45 shots.

Despite holding a 14-point lead during the second half and winning the rebound battle, the Tide couldn’t get it done when it mattered and are already out of the tournament.

Jaden Shackelford shot well for Alabama and led all Crimson Tide scorers with 21 points. Jahvon Quinerly followed with 13 points before fouling out late in the second half.

Scotty Pippen Jr led all scorers in the game with 25 points, despite most of them coming from the charity stripe. Myles Stute hit five threes en route to an 18-point night.

That makes three consecutive losses to end the season for the embattled Crimson Tide, who will hope to find their footing and get things together before they take the court during March Madness.

Alabama fans will now anticipate their seeding in the NCAA Tournament, which will be announced on championship Sunday.

Alabama can’t beat LSU on the road despite solid performances from Ellis, Quinerly and JD Davison

Alabama will head into the postseason hoping to get back on track after a close loss in overtime to LSU.

Today’s game between Alabama and LSU had significant implications heading into the postseason. With an Alabama win, the Tide would maintain their spot as the fifth seed in the SEC Tournament. If LSU were to pull off the upset, they could move into the fifth slot if a couple of today’s other conference matchups ended in their favor.

It was senior day in Baton Rouge, and the Tigers appeared up to the challenge against the Tide, who had beaten them five consecutive times prior to this game.

The Crimson Tide got off to a rough start in its final regular-season game of the campaign but picked things up in the knick of time prior to the conclusion of the first half.

Alabama went into the locker room with a two-point lead, ahead 38-36 at the half.

The game was tightly contested throughout, especially throughout the entire second half and overtime, with neither team able to maintain a cushion on the scoreboard of anything more than five points.

Ultimately, the Crimson Tide offense couldn’t get it done when it mattered most, missing 13 of their last 14 three-pointers to end the game. the Tigers walk away with an 80-77 win despite solid performances from three Alabama stars.

The Tide outrebounded the Tigers by a significant margin offensively, winning that battle 17 to 11. Overall, Alabama outrebounded LSU 42-33.

Alabama shot 37% from the floor and hoisted up 40 threes, while only hitting 11, in the losing effort.

LSU shot 46% on field goals, including 35% from beyond the arc.

These three Crimson Tide stars shined despite the loss and contributed their best efforts for Nate Oats.

Keon Ellis

Ellis certainly carried the mantle for the Crimson Tide offensively today. He scored 19 points and connected on three of eight three-pointers.

Ellis also grabbed nine total rebounds, falling just short of a double-double, with four of those coming off the offensive glass.

Jahvon Quinerly

Despite missing the final shot, Quinerly contributed plenty enough for the Crimson Tide to earn a W. He tallied 16 points and pulled down three rebounds.

Quinerly hit on four of his 11 three-pointers.

JD Davison

While many will be upset with Davison regarding his failure to recognize the shot-clock late in the overtime period, resulting in a costly turnover, his efforts otherwise were not in vain.

The freshman phenom scored 12 points and grabbed five rebounds off the boards. He shot three of seven from three and also contributed a team-high four assists.

Notably, Jaden Shackelford only tallied six points in a rare off night for the Crimson Tide’s leading scorer.

Shack threw up eight shots from three-point distance and didn’t hit a single note.

The close loss concludes the regular season for the Crimson Tide. More will be known regarding Alabama’s seeding in the SEC Tournament after the conclusion of the rest of the league games this evening.

What Alabama MBB HC Nate Oats had to say following the devastating loss to Kentucky

The Crimson Tide HC discussed what went wrong in the loss against Kentucky.

Alabama men’s basketball only has a few games remaining in the regular season before the SEC Tournament begins. Ranked No. 25 in the nation, the Crimson Tide traveled north to face No. 4 Kentucky.

After an incredibly hot start to the game, Alabama ultimately gave up the lead just before halftime, and was never able to get it back. The 90-81 loss likely won’t hurt the team too much when it comes to NCAA Tournament seeding, but a win would have been a massive bump in the right direction.

Crimson Tide head coach Nate Oats was frustrated following the loss when speaking with reporters. He discussed what he told his team during the game and explained what went wrong for the rocky program.

Alabama’s regular season record currently stands at 17-10 with an even conference record of 7-7.

Alabama can’t get it done against Kentucky in 90-81 loss in Rupp Arena

Alabama can’t get it done in Rupp Arena.

Alabama started hot from behind the 3PT line early in their Saturday afternoon game against the No. 4 Kentucky Wildcats in Lexington, but ultimately couldn’t get it done after a long deliberation from the refs slowed the game.

The Tide jumped out to a double-digit lead early in the first half, but couldn’t maintain pace and effort throughout the entire contest.

Alabama shot 43.5% from the field and put up 40 three-point shots. Keon Ellis led all Tide scorers with 28 points while sinking seven out of 11 three pointers. Jaden Shackelford and Noah Gurley followed Ellis on Alabama’s side of the box score with 18 and 12 points, respectively.

Kellan Grady led Kentucky scorers with 25 points followed by Oscar Tshiebwe with 21.

The Wildcats shot 53% from the floor and 64% from beyond the arc.

Alabama’s record drops to 17-10 on the year and 7-7 in SEC play.

Next up for the Crimson Tide is another road game in Nashville as they take on the Vanderbilt Commodores.
