Alabama WR Isaiah Bond officially enters NCAA Transfer Portal

On Friday afternoon, Alabama sophomore wide receiver Isaiah Bond entered his name into the transfer portal. Texas is the presumed favorite to lande the former top-50 prospect.

In an interesting series of events, Alabama wide receiver Isaiah Bond has officially entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. 247Sports’ Chris Hummer and Matt Zenitz confirmed the news.

Bond spent two seasons in Tuscaloosa. The Georgia native hauled in 65 receptions for 888 yards and five touchdowns for the Crimson Tide.

His most memorable moment as an Alabama wide receiver came against Auburn in the 2023 Iron Bowl. He reeled in the go-ahead touchdown to help Alabama prevail in regulation against the Tigers. He played a huge role in helping Alabama reach the College Football Playoff this past season.

The expectation is that Bond will not be returning to Tuscaloosa. Instead, he will likely continue his college career elsewhere. As it stands, the presumed favorite to land Bond is Texas.

Roll Tide Wire will continue to follow the latest news regarding the Alabama football program and its former players that have entered the NCAA transfer portal.

5-star UGA signee recruits star Alabama WR to Georgia

Georgia football five-star signee recruits his former high school teammate to join him at UGA

Five-star Georgia Bulldogs signee KJ Bolden is recruiting one of the top players in the NCAA transfer portal. Alabama star wide receiver Isaiah Bond entered the transfer portal shortly after Nick Saban announced his retirement.

Bond will be among the most coveted players in the transfer portal. Bond, a sophomore, recorded 48 receptions for 668 receiving yards and four touchdowns in 2023. Bond is well-known for two plays. He made a miraculous catch on fourth-and-31 to give Alabama the lead in the final minute against Auburn. Additionally, Bond made a controversial catch, which was somehow not reviewed, on fourth down in the SEC championship game against Georgia.

Isaiah Bond and KJ Bolden were high school teammates at Buford High School in Buford, Georgia. Bond is a former four-star recruit. It is understandable why Bolden is recruiting his former high school teammate.

Alabama WR explains what’s being done to combat threat of sign stealing

What’s being done to combat the threat of Michigan stealing signs and how are Alabama players responding? One Tide WR explains it all.

Earlier in the 2023 season, some massive allegations arose against the Michigan football team relating to sign stealing and gaining what many would consider an unfair competitive advantage. Alabama’s preparation for the Rose Bowl against the Wolverines has included some changes to protect against the threat of sign stealing.

During media availability leading up to the College Football Playoff semifinal, Crimson Tide wide receiver Isaiah Bond explained what’s being done to combat this threat and shared his thoughts on it all.

Bond mentioned that they are only allowed to watch film as a group, not individually. “We don’t want any stuff like that happening again,” said Bond.

Overall, the mentality and approach remain the same, as the sophomore wide receiver explains.

“We’re still going to watch film. We’re going to get the hours in. We’re still going to look over the defense,” says Bond. “Do everything we would in a regular game.”

How does he feel, as a player, about the threat of sign stealing? Well, he doesn’t seem all too concerned.

“I mean, it honestly doesn’t matter to me because at the end of the day, they still have to go on the field and play us. So, all of them stealing signs- I mean, you can know my route, but you still have to guard me at the end of the day. That’s my input.”

How the rest of the SEC fared in the last week of the regular season

Rivalry Week always serves up a ton of interesting matchups.

Rivalry Week always serves up a ton of interesting matchups. Most of the time, the better team issues a beatdown of lesser teams, but when it is rivalry week all bets are off.

It all started with the Egg Bowl on Thanksgiving. Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels were on the brink of losing to Mississippi State in Starkville but they pulled out a win in the end.

Fast forward to Saturday, remember how I said all bets are off in rivalry games? Example A: Kentucky took down No. 10 Louisville on the road the week before the Cardinals played for the ACC Championship.

Then came the Iron Bowl. The 88th iteration of the Iron Bowl did not disappoint. Alabama entered the game knowing that they would be playing Georgia next weekend. Crazy things always happen in Jordan Hare Stadium and today was no different. Alabama faced a 4th and goal from the Auburn 31-yard line and Jalen Milroe threw a clutch touchdown pass to Isaiah Bond to win the game for the Tide.

Here’s how the rest of the SEC fared in the final week of the regular season.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN: Alabama stat leaders from win over Tennessee

Alabama’s comeback win over Tennessee is HUGE for the Tide. See the stat leaders and more!

Alabama football looked out of it in the first half against Tennessee but came out of halftime firing. Overcoming a 13-point deficit at halftime, the Tide ended up winning 34-20.

The second half for the Crimson Tide was airtight. The defense was stellar, shutting out the Vols in the third and fourth quarters, while the offense kept the ball moving, even hanging to find the end zone a few times.

Next up for Alabama will be LSU at home, but the team has the weekend off and will have time to rest and prepare for an SEC West showdown.

Here are the stat leaders from the Tide’s comeback win over the Vols.

Social media erupts as Jalen Milroe bomb gives the Tide life

Jalen Milroe 50-yard touchdown pass erupts Crimson Tide social media

Alabama entered halftime facing a 20-7 deficit with little signs of life. The one saving grace for the Crimson Tide was getting the ball out of halftime. On the first play of the half Jase McClellan broke through for a 29-yard scamper to give the Tide offense some momentum. The very next play, Jalen Milroe unleashed a bomb to a wide-open Isaiah Bond to cut Tennessee’s lead to 20-14.

The Tide offense had been so anemic all first half and it felt like one throw by Milroe brought Bryant-Denny Stadium and this offense to life. The Tide still trail 20-14, but can they get over the hump?Social media erupted as Milroe found the endzone praising the Alabama coaching staff for some outstanding halftime adjustments.
