How to watch, listen and stream Texas vs. West Virginia on Saturday

No. 17 Texas will host West Virginia to open Big 12 conference play.

Big 12 conference play has arrived as the No. 17 Texas Longhorns (10-2) will host West Virginia (11-1) to start the new year.

In the last matchup between these two programs a season ago, West Virginia left Austin with a victory after erasing a 19-point first half deficit.

West Virginia should be well rested as they have not played a game for almost a week and a half while Texas is coming off a 78-33 win over Incarnate Word on Tuesday.

The defense has been the strength of this Texas team so far this season. The Horns lead the nation in scoring defense allowing just over 50 ppg.

For Texas to win this game they must find a way to slow down West Virginia’s dynamic duo Taz Sherman and Sean McNeil. Sherman is averaging 21 points per game on the young season while McNeil averages 14 points per game himself.

Getting off to a win to start the gauntlet of the Big 12 schedule would be massive for both teams.

Here is how to tune in for Texas’ conference opener:

Texas Longhorns Basketball: BetMGM odds, how to watch the TCU game

Texas’ regular-season finale against TCU will be on a rare Sunday conference game. Here at the BetMGM odds and how you can watch.

Texas’ regular-season finale against TCU will be on a rare Sunday conference game. After winning two in a row, Shaka Smart’s squad will be looking to head into the postseason with their longest winning streak since early January.

TCU is one of the three Big 12 teams not projected to make the NCAA Tournament. They are 12-12 overall and 5-10 within conference play. Offense has been a huge problem, averaging 67.7 points per game which ranks as No. 267 in the country. In the Feb. 13 matchup, the Horned Frogs scored 55.

With West Virginia’s loss to Oklahoma State on Saturday, Texas has the opportunity to take the No. 3 seed in the Big 12 tournament with a win. Replicating their February performance will ensure the Longhorns have a more favorable tournament opponent on Thursday.

Texas Longhorns Basketball: BetMGM odds, how to watch the Iowa State game

In order to retain their four seed in the NCAA Tournament later this month, Texas can’t lose to Iowa State on Tuesday.

Texas’ journey towards an NCAA Tournament bid continues on Tuesday night against Iowa State. The two schools have already played against each other this season, with the Longhorns securing a 78-72 win in January.

Tuesday is the second makeup date the road trip to Ames has seen. Jan. 20 was the original date and Feb. 18 was the second one before COVID-19 postponed the matchup again. It will be Texas’ first of three games in six days.

Iowa State lost 14 consecutive games and is 0-15 in Big 12 play this season. Steve Prohm’s team ranks dead last in the conference in multiple categories, including free throw attempts, total rebounds secured and given up, and points allowed.

In order to retain their spot as a four seed in the tournament later this month, the matchup with Iowa State is a cannot lose game. A Quadrant Four loss would be detrimental to Texas’ resume. With Oklahoma on deck on Thursday, finetuning their shooting will be key as well.

Texas Longhorns Basketball: BetMGM odds, how to watch the Kansas State game

UT is in desperate need of a victory after dropping three straight games. Here are the BetMGM odds plus how to watch the Kansas State game.

Texas is in desperate need of a victory Tuesday night after dropping three consecutive games. Oklahoma, Baylor and Oklahoma State have all taken advantage of a Longhorn squad coming off a COVID-19 pause while recovering from the virus themselves.

Luckily, Texas is traveling to Manhattan, Kansas, to face the 5-15 (1-10 in Big 12 play) Kansas State Wildcats. Losers of 10 straight, the Wildcats have not won since Dec. 29 against Omaha. Texas beat the Wildcats in Austin on Jan. 16, 82-67.

In the double-overtime loss to Oklahoma State, Texas shot 34.1% from the floor and 14.3% from behind the 3-point line. Courtney Ramey was an abysmal 1-of-9 from deep. If the Longhorns want to get back to their winning ways in the Big 12, their shooting must improve against the Wildcats.

Texas Longhorns Basketball: BetMGM odds, how to watch the Oklahoma State game

Texas is in need of a bounce-back win against Oklahoma State on Saturday.

Texas is in need of a bounce-back against Oklahoma State on Saturday afternoon. Shaka Smart’s team has lost three of four games while also dealing with COVID-19 outbreaks. After four consecutive home games, they head back out on the road to Stillwater.

The Cowboys are coming off a loss to TCU but still have the presumable No. 1 pick in the draft in Cade Cunningham. The true freshman is averaging just over 18 points a game and shooting 39.7% from the field. To get a win over Oklahoma State, shutting Cunningham will be the key.

Playing their first matchup of the season back in December, Texas barely got the better of Oklahoma State by a score of 77-74. It was a freshman showdown between Cunningham and Texas’ Greg Brown, who had 25 and 24 points respectively. More of the same is expected to come as the Longhorns look to sweep the Cowboys.
