Georgia Bulldog fans should be happy with the Dawgs’ 10-3 win over Clemson, but UGA fans should not ignore Georgia Tech’s loss to Northern Illinois to open the season.
The Northern Illinois Huskies led the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets for most of the game. The Yellow Jackets fought back to take a 21-14 lead with under six minutes left in the fourth quarter.
Northern Illinois battled back and put themselves into the red zone late in the game. The Huskies threw a short touchdown with under a minute left and then converted a two-point attempt.

Georgia Tech never had another legitimate chance to score and ultimately lost 22-21 to the Huskies.
Following the game, Northern Illinois coach Thomas Hammock said, “We came here to win and we expected to win and that’s what we got done.”
It is not the start Georgia Tech coach Geoff Collins was hoping for. Georgia Tech is looking to improve off their 3-7 record from last season.
