NBA Finals: Former Warrior Andre Iguodala notches 11 minutes in Heat vs. Lakers Game 6

As the Lakers notched their 17th NBA championship, former Warrior Andre Iguodala went scoreless for the Heat in 11 minutes of game six.

On Sunday night, the Los Angeles Lakers stamped their 17th championship banner with a 102-96 victory over the Miami Heat in game six of the Finals.

With the Lakers’ victory, the league’s Orlando Bubble will be shutting its doors for the first time in over two months. As the Bubble closes up shop. Warriors Wire will highlight former members of the Golden State Warriors at Disney World for the final time.

For game six of the NBA Finals, Andre Iguodala suited up alongside Jimmy Butler for the Miami Heat. In 11 minutes off the bench, Golden State’s former sixth man went scoreless, recording only one rebound. Game six was the only game Iguodala didn’t register at least 17 minutes or more for Erik Spoelstra in the Finals.

Bam Adebayo led the Heat with a double-double performance on 25 points and 10 rebounds in 42 minutes. The first-time All-Star added five assists and two blocks. However, it was not enough to extend the series to game seven.

After the Lakers jumped out to a 28 point lead in the first half, LeBron James capped off his Final Most Valuable Player effort with a triple-double. The four-time Finals MVP tallied 28 points on 13-of-20 shooting from the field with 14 rebounds, 10 assists and a steal in 41 minutes.

James’ fellow All-Star Anthony Davis added a double-double of his own in game six. The Kentucky product registered 19 points, 15 rebounds and three assists in Los Angeles’ 102-96 win.

Although Iguodala missed the chance to pick up another piece of jewelry, ex-Warriors Quinn Cook and JaVale McGee earned championships with the Lakers. While McGee notched his third NBA title, Cook added a second ring to his resume.

Next season, Golden State’s road back to the top of the Western Conference goes through Los Angeles.

NBA Finals: Former Warriors JaVale McGee and Quinn Cook win championship with Lakers

With the Los Angeles Lakers’ NBA Finals win over the Miami Heat in game six, former Warriors JaVale McGee and Quinn Cook earn championship rings.

After two months in the Orlando Bubble, the Los Angeles Lakers were crowned NBA champions with a 106-93 victory in game six of the Finals.

In his 17th season in the association, LeBron James earned his fourth Finals Most Valuable Player award with a unanimous vote. During game six, the veteran forward capped off the Lakers run to a title with a triple-double on 28 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists in 41 minutes.

Although they weren’t included in the NBA Finals for the first time in five seasons, the Golden State Warriors were represented on both sides of the court in the championship series.

After each winning titles in Golden State, ex-Warriors Quinn Cook and JaVale McGee earned championship rings with the Lakers in 2019-20.

Cook made brief appearances in games one and six of the Finals, totaling three points on 1-of-3 shooting. Following their championship win, Cook chimed in on social media.

After starting games throughout the Lakers postseason run, Frank Vogel opted to keep McGee on the bench for the NBA Finals. Instead, the Lakers started Dwight Howard or a smaller lineup with Anthony Davis at the center. Despite his lack of playing time in the 2020 Finals, McGee is now a three-time NBA champion.

NBA Finals: Former Warrior Andre Iguodala logs 25 minutes in Heat vs. Lakers Game 1

In the opening game of the NBA Finals, former Warrior Andre Iguodala added seven points off the bench for the Heat against the Lakers.

While Steve Kerr and Bob Myers prepare for the NBA Draft, Warriors Wire is checking in with ex-Dubs at the Disney World campus.

Although Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson’s streak of five consecutive trips to the NBA Finals is over, some of their former Golden State Warriors teammates will be on the court in the Orlando Bubble.

On Wednesday, former Warriors Andre Iguodala, JaVale McGee and Quinn Cook laced up for the opening game of the NBA Finals.

Golden State’s former sixth man tallied seven points on 3-of-7 shooting from the field with six assists, five rebounds and a block in 25 minutes.

Despite starting most of the playoffs, Frank Vogel and the Lakers opted not to play McGee any minutes in game two.

With McGee glued to the bench, Cook was the only ex-member of the Warriors suiting up for the NBA Finals. The Duke product nailed a 3-pointer in his lone minute of action in game one.

Anthony Davis led the way for the Warriors, marking 34 points on 11-of-21 shooting from the field with nine boards, five assists and three blocks.

LeBron James backed the Kentucky product with a near triple-double performance. The MVP runner up recorded 25 points with 13 rebounds and nine assists. The duo of Davis and James was enough to slow down the red-hot Heat in game one, 116-98.

Former Warrior JaVale McGee advances to Western Conference Finals with Lakers

The Golden State Warriors former center JaVale McGee has punched his ticket to the Western Conference FInals with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Although Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green are on the outside of the Orlando Bubble, former members of the Golden State Warriors are advancing through the NBA’s playoff bracket.

After Andre Iguodala advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals with the Miami Heat, another ex-Warrior punched their ticket to the next round of the postseason.

On Saturday, former Golden State center JaVale McGee suited up with the Los Angeles Lakers in game five of their Western Conference series against the Houston Rockets.

Coming off the bench in game five, McGee collected three rebounds with a block in three minutes of action. Late in the fourth quarter, McGee attempted his best Splash Brother imitation, launching a 3-pointer. However, the 7-foot center’s beyond the arc attempt clanked off the rim.

Lebron James led the Lakers with 29 points on 9-of-18 shooting from the field with 11 boards, seven assists and two steals. Anthony Davis added a double-double of his own with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Behind the pair of double-doubles from their All-Stars, the Lakers were able to close out the Rockets 119-96 to advance to the Western Conference Finals.

During game two, McGee suffered an ankle injury after playing eight minutes. McGee was able to return in game three. However, Frank Vogel opted to match Houston’s small-ball lineup, keeping McGee on the bench. Games four and five against Houston were the first two games the Nevada product didn’t start for Los Angeles.

With the Lakers slated to face either the Denver Nuggets or Los Angeles Clippers next, McGee will likely have a more significant role in the Western Conference Finals. The former Golden State big man will match up with either Ivica Zubac and Montrezl Harrell or All-Star center Nikola Jokic.

The Clippers currently hold a 3-2 advantage over the Nuggets with game six scheduled to tipoff on Sunday at 10 A.M. PT.

Former Warrior JaVale McGee receives start for Lakers in Game 3 vs. Rockets

After leaving with an injury in game two, former Warrior JaVale McGee was able to return to the Lakers starting five against the Rockets.

As the Golden State Warriors progress through their extended offseason, teams are beginning to punch their ticket to the Conference Finals in the NBA Postseason. With no hoops on the slate in the Bay Area, Warriors Wire is highlighting former Dubs in the Orlando Bubble edition of the playoffs.

In their second-round series against the Houston Rockets, Golden State’s former center JaVale McGee has been lacing up alongside LeBron James for the Los Angeles Lakers.

After eight minutes in game three, McGee exited the contest in the third quarter due to left ankle pain. Despite his injury, the former Warrior big man was able to join James and Anthony Davis in the starting lineup for game four.

The Nevada Wolfpack product went scoreless in seven minutes against the Rockets. McGee didn’t register a rebound, block, assist or steal. However, McGee capped off his game three performances with a +1 on the night.

James led the Lakers in scoring with 36 points on 13-of-23 shooting from the field. The former Most Valuable Player added seven rebounds, five assists, four blocks and one steal. Davis backed his All-Star teammate with a steady double-double effort. The Kentucky product notched 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field with 15 rebounds, six assists and a block.

Veteran point guard Rajon Rondo added 21 points, nine assists, two rebounds and a steal in 21 minutes off the bench.

Behind contributions from James, Davis and Rondo, the Los Angeles Lakers were able to move past the Rockets, 112-102.

Heading into game four, After their win on Tuesday, the Lakers hold a 2-1 series lead. McGee and the rest of the Lakers will tipoff against the Rockets at 4 P.M. PT on Thursday.

Former Warrior Andre Iguodala leaves Heat vs. Bucks Game 2 with ankle injury

In the Heat’s game two against the Bucks, former Warrior Andre Iguodala scored four points before leaving with an ankle injury.

Instead of watching Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green in the postseason, fans of Dub Nation have had the chance to catch up with former members of the Golden State Warriors inside the Orlando Bubble.

While the Warriors are busy preparing for the NBA Draft, Golden State’s 2015 Finals Most Valuable Player is lacing up for the second round of the postseason at Disney World. On Wednesday, Andre Iguodala’s Miami Heat matched up with Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks for game two of their Eastern Conference Playoff series.

Iguodala’s game two performance was cut short due to an ankle injury. After launching a corner jumper from beyond the arc, Iguodala landed on Kyle Korver’s foot. On his landing, Iguodala appeared to injure his ankle. Kover was quickly issued a foul for stepping in Iguodala’s landing area.

After Iguodala went to the locker room, the Miami Heat announced the veteran would try to return against the Bucks in game two after suffering a right ankle sprain.

Following Miami’s 116-114 victory, Spoelstra told reporters Iguodala wanted to get back into the contest, but the Heat opted to keep him out due to the speed of the game.

Prior to leaving the game in the third quarter, Iguodala tallied four points on 1-of-2 shooting from the field with two rebounds, two assists and a steal in 11 minutes for Spoelstra.

Despite the loss of Iguodala and a pair of controversial foul calls late in the game, the Heat were able to hang on for a 116-114 victory against the Bucks. Goran Dragic led Miami with 23 points on 8-of-18 shooting from the field.

If his ankle can recover in time, Iguodala and the Heat are slated to tipoff against the Milwaukee Bucks for game three on Friday at 3:30 P.M. PT.

In his first playoff game for the Miami Heat, Andre Iguodala scored four points in 25 minutes off the bench against the Indiana Pacers.

After seven consecutive trips to the postseason, the Golden State Warriors’ playoff streak is over in 2020. Before the NBA season was put on pause due to the coronavirus pandemic, Golden State’s chances of the playoffs were decided when they stamped the worst record in the league.

The 2015 NBA Finals Most Valuable Player recorded four points, two blocks and a rebound in 25 minutes off the bench. One of Iguodala’s buckets came on an alley-oop from Heat rookie Tyler Herro.

 

While his stats may not jump off the boxscore, Iguodala played a vital role down the stretch. With the Heat clinging to a one-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, Iguodala played every minute for Erik Spoelstra in the final period. The Heat outscored the Pacers 32-21 in the fourth quarter to seal a game one victory against Indiana, 113-101.

Former Warrior Alec Burks adds 18 points off the bench in Sixers vs. Celtics Game 1

In the opening round of the playoffs, Alec Burks added 18 points off the bench in the Philadelphia 76ers Game 1 loss to the Boston Celtics.

For the first time since 2012, the Golden State Warriors will not be apart of the NBA’s playoff picture.

While Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins are at home, Warriors Wire is checking in on former members of the Dubs competing in the postseason dance.

In the opening round of the NBA playoffs, a player that began the 2019-20 campaign in the Bay Area, suited up for the Philadelphia 76ers game one against the Boston Celtics. After a strong stretch run in the Orlando Bubble, Alec Burks led the Sixers off the bench against the Celtics.

The former Golden State swingman recorded 18 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the field. Burks added six boards and two assists in 28 minutes.

Fellow former Warrior turned Sixer Glenn Robinson III was ruled out against the Celtics with an oblique muscle strain. Robinson III was limited to only two games in the seeding round due to a hip injury.

With Joel Embiid leading the way with a double-double, Burks joined five other members of the Sixers to register double-figures in scoring. However, it wasn’t enough for the Boston Celtics. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for 61 points on Boston’s way to a 109-101 series-opening victory.

Burks will be back on the floor for game two against the Celtics on Wednesday at 3:30 P.M. PST.

Orlando Bubble: Former Warrior Alec Burks helps Sixers off the bench in win vs. Rockets

In the Philadelphia 76ers’ final game in the Orlando Bubble’s seeding round, Alec Burks tallied 16 points, five boards and five assists in 22 minutes vs. the Houston Rockets.

With the 2020 edition of the NBA postseason looming in the Orlando Bubble, the Golden State Warriors are busy with their offseason plans. With the league’s worst record, the Warriors were one of eight teams not to get the invite to Disney World.

With no hoops on the Bay Area calendar, Warriors Wire is checking in on former members of the Golden State Warriors inside the Orlando Bubble. On Friday, former Golden State swingman Alec Burks laced up for the Philadelphia 76ers against the Houston Rockets.

In the Sixers’ final game in the seeding round of the bubble, Burks filled the box score against James Harden’s Rockets. The Colorado product tallied 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the field with five rebounds, five assists and two steals in 22 minutes off the bench for Brett Brown. Burks continued his steady long-distance shooting, knocking down 4-of-6 shots from beyond the arc.

Burks was one of eight members of the Sixers to score in double figures in the team’s 134-96 victory against the playoff-bound Rockets.

With Philadelphia dealing with a bevy of injuries up and down the roster, Brown will need to count on Burks as the 76ers enter the postseason.

In seven games during the seeding round, Burks averaged 14.6 points on 56.7% shooting from the field, with 2.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game. Burks kept up his hot hand from deep, shooting 57.1% from 3-point land.

Burks and the Sixers will kick off their postseason campaign on Monday against the Boston Celtics.

Former Warrior Kevin Durant featured in Drake’s new ‘Laugh Now Cry Later’ music video

Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant made an appearance in Drake’s latest music video for his new single “Laugh Now Cry Later.”

Late Thursday night, musical artist Drake released his highly anticipated new single featuring Lil Durk.

In Drake’s video for “Laugh Now Cry Later,” the Canadian hitmaker is joined by a cast of elite athletes at the Nike World Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon.

Among the high caliber sports stars in the video, a former Golden State Warrior makes an appearance. Throughout the video, former Warrior turned Brooklyn Nets forward Kevin Durant was playing basketball against Drake.

Durant’s highlights against Drake included dunks, jumpers and blocked shots.

Although Durant is on the court in Drakes video, the former MVP is still recovering from the Achilles injury he suffered in the 2019 NBA Finals. While he’s working back to make his long-awaited Brooklyn debut, Durant’s teammates are busy at Disney World.

On the court, Durant’s Brooklyn Nets capped off their run of seeding round games against Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers. Caris LeVert led the Nets with 37 points, nine assist and six boards, but it wasn’t enough for the potential Bubble MVP.

Lillard continued his scorching stretch of games with 42 points on 13-of-22 shooting from the field with eight makes coming from beyond the arc. Lillard recorded a double-double with 12 assists. Portland sealed their bid for the playoffs with a 134-133 victory over Brooklyn.

In the first round of the Eastern Conference postseason, Durant’s Nets will match up with Drake’s Raptors.
