NBA Finals: Former Warrior Andre Iguodala notches 11 minutes in Heat vs. Lakers Game 6

As the Lakers notched their 17th NBA championship, former Warrior Andre Iguodala went scoreless for the Heat in 11 minutes of game six.

On Sunday night, the Los Angeles Lakers stamped their 17th championship banner with a 102-96 victory over the Miami Heat in game six of the Finals.

With the Lakers’ victory, the league’s Orlando Bubble will be shutting its doors for the first time in over two months. As the Bubble closes up shop. Warriors Wire will highlight former members of the Golden State Warriors at Disney World for the final time.

For game six of the NBA Finals, Andre Iguodala suited up alongside Jimmy Butler for the Miami Heat. In 11 minutes off the bench, Golden State’s former sixth man went scoreless, recording only one rebound. Game six was the only game Iguodala didn’t register at least 17 minutes or more for Erik Spoelstra in the Finals.

Bam Adebayo led the Heat with a double-double performance on 25 points and 10 rebounds in 42 minutes. The first-time All-Star added five assists and two blocks. However, it was not enough to extend the series to game seven.

After the Lakers jumped out to a 28 point lead in the first half, LeBron James capped off his Final Most Valuable Player effort with a triple-double. The four-time Finals MVP tallied 28 points on 13-of-20 shooting from the field with 14 rebounds, 10 assists and a steal in 41 minutes.

James’ fellow All-Star Anthony Davis added a double-double of his own in game six. The Kentucky product registered 19 points, 15 rebounds and three assists in Los Angeles’ 102-96 win.

Although Iguodala missed the chance to pick up another piece of jewelry, ex-Warriors Quinn Cook and JaVale McGee earned championships with the Lakers. While McGee notched his third NBA title, Cook added a second ring to his resume.

Next season, Golden State’s road back to the top of the Western Conference goes through Los Angeles.
