The Falcons needed pass rushing help last year, didn’t get it in the draft, and now it’s going to have to get it at some point. They have four of the top 108 picks and can grab an edge rusher in the second round, but with the fourth overall pick, they have to do something special.
Matt Ryan is still good. It’s not time to panic yet, and if the team really wants a quarterback to develop for the future, it can almost certainly get Kyle Trask with the 68th overall pick, and if it really wants to shoot for the stars it can get Jamie Newman in the fourth round.
Here’s the big call … just how transcendent a talent is Kyle Pitts? If you’re taking a tight end at the four – especially with all that receiver talent available and with a chance to take a big pick at quarterback – he had better be just that good right out of the box.

Georgia football offensive guard Solomon Kindley has advice for his former UGA teammates while at the NFL Combine.
Georgia offensive guard Solomon Kindley is in Indianapolis this week for the NFL Combine.
Viewed anywhere from a first to third round draft pick, Kindley is meeting with teams, undergoing body measurements and eventually will partake in on-field drills.

Kindley said he has already met with the Packers and Patriots and has plans to meet with the Falcons and the Chiefs.
Since 2017, he started 10 games at right guard and 26 at left guard. He left Georgia with one year of eligibility remaining, and during an interview at the combine he mentioned that he misses Athens and his teammates back in Georgia.
“I’m not going to lie, I miss my teammates,” Kindley said. “I miss my little brothers. I miss them UGA Dawgs.”
When asked what he missed most about Kirby Smart, Kindley noted that it was Kirby’s drive and constant motivation that he has missed the most.
He also went on to give advice to the younger Bulldogs in Athens.
“Take it all in. Just soak it all up because it feels like I had just got there and now I’m here already. Don’t waste no time. The time is short at Georgia. Everything you do, you gotta pay attention to.”

Former Georgia football OT Solomon Kindley says he has meetings with multiple NFL teams, including a potential one with the Atlanta Falcons.
Could the Atlanta Falcons finally snap the streak of refusing to select former Georgia payers in the NFL Draft?
This year could be the year, especially with the high volume of Georgia players in the draft. Is it possible that the Falcons will be left no choice but to draft a former Bulldog?
Solomon Kindley, Georgia’s offensive guard who is viewed as a 1-3 round draft pick, said that he believes he has a formal interview with the Falcons this week.
He also added that he has met with the Packers and Patriots, and also thinks he has a meeting with the Chiefs coming up.
Kindley to the Falcons would excite Georgia fans, and it would surely excite Kindley, who would stay close to home. Kindley grew up in Jacksonville, Florida.

And then there’s the Chiefs, who Kindley also said he believes he has a meeting with this week. Kindley, if taken by Kansas City, would pair up with speedster Mecole Hardman on the Super Bowl champs.
But the possibility that excites me the most is Kindley to the Patriots. The two parties have already met at the NFL Combine, and it’s a known fact that Pats head coach Bill Belichick is a big fan of drafting Dawgs.
If Kindley does wind up in New England, he would join an offensive line that already features two Georgia guys — David Andrews and Isaiah Wynn. Additionally, he would join his fellow Dawgs in blocking for another Georgia boy, running back Sony Michel.

In Indy, Kindley measured in at 6-foot-3 and 1/4 inches tall and weighed in at 337 pounds.
Since 2017, Kindley started 10 games at right guard and 26 at left guard.
Kindley left Georgia with one year of eligibility remaining.

Georgia had 10 players invited to participate in the 2020 NFL Combine at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The combine will take place from February 23rd to March 2nd, with on-field workouts beginning on the 27th.
The 10 Georgia players that received an invite are as follows:

For the players that did not receive an invite, and for those who did but want to better their scores, Georgia will host its annual pro-day, where coaches from all 32 NFL teams should be present.
As for the 10 players who will be in Indianapolis next week, they’ll be busy with everything from orientation, to interviews, medical exams, psychological testing, media sessions and an NFLPA meeting.
And then finally they’ll hit the field for their workouts.
They’ll be broken up into groups. Here’s a list of those groups and the Georgia players who will be in them.

The NFL Draft is coming up in just a few months and multiple former Bulldogs are expecting to hear their names called in Las Vegas.
In the latest four-round 2020 NFL mock draft done by USA TODAY’s DraftWire, multiple former Georgia players go in round one and three guys head to the NFC South.
However, none are projected to go the Falcons, a franchise that has routinely passed up on drafting players from the in-state university over the years.
The first two picks of the draft see Joe Burrow headed to Cincinnati and Chase Young to Washington.
Andrew Thomas goes early…
Pick No. 4: Andrew Thomas to the Giants
At No. 4 the first Dawg, offensive tackle Andrew Thomas, gets taken by the New York Giants.
On Thomas, DraftWire wrote:
If the Giants want Daniel Jones to become a true franchise quarterback, they’re going to have to protect him. General manager Dave Gettleman is as old-school as they come, so don’t be surprised when he spends this pick in the trenches. Moving back would be ideal given this year’s depth at both tackle and along the interior, but if they’re stuck here, Thomas is a strong pick.
At No. 5, the Miami Dolphins take Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.
Kindley to Tennessee…
Pick No. 29: Solomon Kindley to the Titans
In the first round, at pick No. 29, Georgia has its second player selected in the draft. Offensive guard Solomon Kindley, one of the most consistent blockers at Georgia over the past couple of seasons, is projected to the Tennessee Titans, where he would team up with former UGA center Ben Jones.
On Kindley, Draft Wire wrote:
If Derrick Henry leaves in free agency, running back obviously becomes a strong possibility here. But if he returns, the Titans should focus on fortifying an already strong offensive line with young reinforcements. Kindley is the best of a deep class of interior blockers, and his experience against top competition in the SEC have him ready to make an impact from Day 1.
