When top Oregon targets are schedule to announce commitments

A lot of top-rated Oregon targets are scheduled to commit in the coming weeks. Here are the dates you need to pay attention to.

If June was the month of official visits for the Oregon Ducks, then July is expected to be the month of commitment announcements.

After hosting some of the top prospects in the nation on both official and unofficial visits over the last month, the Ducks are sitting in as good of a spot as anyone in the nation when it comes to recruiting momentum. They currently have the No. 8 class in the nation, and a number of their top targets are scheduled to announce their commitments over the coming month.

As players continue to announce when they will commit, it can be tough to keep everything straight. We’re here to help you keep your calendars in order. Here is an updated schedule of the recruiting commitments that Duck fans should pay attention to over the coming months:

Nation’s No. 1 edge prospect sets commitment date, names finalists

Tennessee football target Elijah Rushing set commitment date.

Five-star edge prospect Elijah Rushing will announce his commitment on July 6 at 5 p.m. EDT.

Tennessee, Oregon, Arizona and Notre Dame are Rushing’s top four schools.

The 6-foot-5, 251-pound edge prospect is from Salpointe Catholic High School in Tucson, Arizona.

Rushing is the No. 8 overall prospect in the class of 2024. He is the No. 1 edge prospect and No. 1 player in Arizona, according to 247Sports.

Rushing finished his junior season with 73 total tackles, 13.5 tackles for a loss, 11.5 sacks and four forced fumbles. He earned first-team All-Arizona, first-team 6A All-Conference and 6A East Valley All-Region honors.

Rushing officially visited the Vols on June 23.

5-star EDGE announces commitment date; Oregon Ducks thought to be favorites

The Oregon Ducks have the No. 7 recruiting class in the 2024 cycle, and they’ve reached that status without a five-star recruit in their class.

That may be changing.

On Tuesday afternoon, five-star edge Elijah Rushing announced he plans to  make his commitment public on July 6 at 2 p.m. ET. Rushing is rated by 247Sports as the No. 8 player in the 2024 class and the No. 1 edge in the nation.

Rushing has visited Eugene a number of times, the most recent being an official visit in June. He does not have any crystal ball predictions on 247Sports, but the On3 recruiting prediction machine has the Ducks as a heavy favorite with a 70.5% chance.

According to Rushing, he will choose among Oregon, Tennessee, Arizona and Notre Dame.

Visit photos and reactions from blue-chip recruits after OV weekend in Eugene

A handful of 5-stars and even more high-end 4-stars were in Eugene for official and unofficial visits this weekend. Check out their visit photos and reactions.

The official visits ramped up for the Oregon Ducks over the past week.

While the first weekend in June saw guys like 4-star RB Christian Clark, 4-star LB Dylan Williams, and 4-star CB Aaron Scott take a trip out to Eugene to see Dan Lanning and the Ducks, we only saw the heat get turned up this past week at Autzen Stadium.

Guys like 5-star EDGE Elijah Rushing, 5-star LB Justin Williams, and 5-star CB Kobe Black all made their way out to Oregon for official or unofficial visits, with 4-stars like RB Nathaniel Frazier and WR Gatlin Bair doing the same.

While a ton of focus was on the guys Oregon wants to bring into the fold, we also saw a ton of current Duck commits come back home for their OVs as well. That list of players included 4-star DL Xadavien Sims, 4-star S Aaron Flowers, 3-star QB Luke Moga, and 3-star TE Jackson Ford.

As you would expect, the visit photos were plenty, and the reactions were positive. Here is a mix of what recruits are saying after the weekend in Eugene:

Notre Dame football: Biggest remaining recruiting targets for 2024

Want a great class and not just a good one for Notre Dame? Land the majority of these six realistic remaining targets.

Notre Dame has been on a hot streak of landing commitments for their 2024 recruiting class of late, now sitting at a 18-player class.  That is one of the highest numbers nationally but if you follow Notre Dame recruiting you know it’s all about building it up early and holding on to close things out.

That’s essentially to say, you won’t see Notre Dame climb the team rankings on national signing day usually.  They might add a player or two late but the majority of their commitments come long before late-December.

So with 18 players committed and assuming all 18 remain that way (not fair to expect but how else do we do this exercise?) then who are the key remaining targets for Notre Dame in 2024?

Landing the majority of these six dream recruits would take Notre Dame’s class from how it stands now as pretty good, to instead being great.

Report: Notre Dame will host 5-star defensive end in early June

The Irish will official host one of the nations best players

At the current moment, [autotag]Notre Dame[/autotag] football has one of the best 2024 recruiting classes in the nation. With eight current commits, Irish head coach [autotag]Marcus Freeman[/autotag] is looking to continue to add to the already impressive group.

One of the players they are targeting is Arizona defensive end [autotag]Elijah Rushing[/autotag]. The 6-foot, 6-inch and 235 pound edge defender is viewed as one of the best players in the country, ranking as the second edge and 18th overall player in the nation by the 247Sports composite.

Today, according to multiple outlets, Rushing has scheduled an official visit to South Bend from June 9-11th.

At the current moment, [autotag]Owen Wafle[/autotag] is the only defensive end committed in the class and Rushing would be the top rated commit if he were to join.

5-star Elijah Rushing, No. 8 player in 2024, to visit Oregon for Spring Game

Add EDGE Elijah Rushing to the list of 5-star players who will be in Eugene for the Oregon Ducks spring game on April 29.

The list of blue-chip prospects who will be in Eugene for the annual Oregon Ducks spring game is starting to get incredibly long.

Already, a total of five 5-star players have confirmed that they will be in town, with 5-star EDGE Elijah Rushing being the latest to do so. Rushing confirmed to me on Friday morning that he plans to be in Eugene for the spring game. Max Torres with Ducks Digest had the first report.

Rushing has made a number of visits to Eugene over the past several years, including a couple in the last calendar year. He is rated by 247Sports as the No. 8 overall player in the 2024 class, and the No. 1 EDGE rusher. Per the 247Sports Composite, he sits at No. 19 in the nation, and No. 3 at EDGE in 2024.

Rushing will be joined by 5-star QB Dylan Raiola, 5-star S K.J. Bolden, 5-star EDGE Colin Simmons, and reportedly 5-star S Xavier Filsaime, per 247Sports Steve Wiltfong (paid).

Auburn offers 5-star EDGE Elijah Rushing

Auburn has entered the mix for one of the top recruits in the country.

Auburn has entered the mix for one of the top recruits in the country.

On Sunday the Tigers offered five-star edge rusher [autotag]Elijah Rushing[/autotag]. The 6-foot-6, 255-pounder announced the news on Twitter.

He is the No. 16 overall player and No. 3 EDGE rusher in the 247Sports Composite ranking. The Tuscon native is also the No. 2 player in Arizona.

Auburn will have ground to make up as Rushing had narrowed his schools to a top 12 of Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Oregon, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, and Washington. However, he has stated other schools could enter the picture and that is exactly what defensive line coach [autotag]Jeremy Garrett[/autotag] and Auburn are trying to do.

Rushing had a monster junior season for Salpointe Catholic High School, making 73 tackles, 13.5 tackles for loss, 11.5 sacks, and 59 quarterback hurries in 12 games.
