4-star NC State WR commit projected to flip to Georgia

Georgia football has been looking for another wide receiver commitment since Ny Carr decommitted from the Bulldogs. Four-star NC State commit is now projected to flip to UGA

Head coach Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs recently lost a commitment from four-star wide receiver recruit Ny Carr. Carr switched his commitment to the Miami Hurricanes.

Since Carr’s decommitment, Georgia has been looking for another wide receiver to commit to the Bulldogs. Georgia may have found its next commitment in the class of 2024: NC State commit Terrell Anderson.

Anderson is a four-star recruit that plays high school football for Grimsley High School in Greensboro, North Carolina. Anderson is ranked 356th overall, 11th in North Carolina and 53rd among wide receivers.

Anderson has been committed to NC State since Aug. 12. 247Sports NC State insider Michael Clark projects Anderson will flip his commitment from NC State to Georgia.

Anderson is NC State’s fourth highest-ranked commitment in the class of 2024. His potential decommitment would be a big blow to the Wolfpack, who have the No. 33 recruiting class in the country.

Georgia only has two commitments at wide receiver in the class of 2024. Georgia football has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country with 26 total commitments.

Tennessee football to host official visits before recruiting dead period

Tennessee football to host official visits before the upcoming NCAA recruiting dead period.

The NCAA football recruiting dead period is slated for June 26-July 24.

During a dead period, it is considered not permissible to make in-person recruiting contacts or evaluations, on or off the member institutionā€™s campus, or to permit official or unofficial visits by prospective student-athletes to the institutionā€™s campus, per the NCAA.

The Vols are scheduled to host 2024 prospects for official visits ahead of the upcoming dead period.

The Vols have 14 commitments in the 2024 class: Offensive lineman Max Anderson,Ā cornerback Kaleb Beasley, defensive linemanĀ Carson Gentle, athleteĀ Marcus Goree Jr.,Ā athleteĀ Jonathan Echols, quarterbackĀ Jake Merklinger,Ā offensive tackleĀ Jesse Perry,Ā offensive tackleĀ Gage GintherĀ and safetyĀ Edrees Farooq, defensive linemanĀ Jeremias Heard, edge rusherĀ Kellen LindstromĀ and running backĀ Peyton Lewis, athlete Boo Carter and linebacker Jordan Burns.

Below are 2024 recruits who scheduled official visits to Tennessee ahead of the upcoming NCAA dead period.

Florida WR target planning spring visit to the Swamp

After earning an offer from the Gators, wide receiver Terrell Anderson is looking at a spring visit to meet Florida’s coaching staff in person.

One of the wide receivers Florida is looking at from the class of 2024 is Grimsley (Greensboro, North Carolina) pass catcher [autotag]Terrell Anderson[/autotag].

The Gators offered Anderson on Friday, triggering the planning stages of a spring meeting between the two parties, according to 247Sports. While he’s aiming for March, Anderson doesn’t have a date locked in just yet for his first trip to the Swamp.

Anderson is confident that he’ll make it to campus for a spring practice, though. He has a long list of schools that he wants to check out once the dead period is lifted. In addition to Florida, he’s looking at Cincinnati, FSU and Penn State in March.

“Florida is definitely going to be in the mix now,” Anderson said to 247Sports. “I am going to keep cutting my list down to maybe like a Top seven in May. Then most of those schools are going to be my official visits in the summer. It’s a really good school. They have one of the best graduation rates in the nation. Everyone talks about Florida being one of the best and biggest schools in the SEC. They play in the hardest conference, so I know they are capable of a lot of things.”

Anderson has already named a top 10, but adding another SEC offer changes things. Auburn, Cincinnati, Louisville, Michigan, North Carolina, NC State, Penn State, Tennessee, UCF and Virginia Tech made the last cut for him, but Florida might replace one of those programs when he brings it down to a top seven.

Seeing the team in action and meeting with the coaching staff in person should help Florida’s chances with him. Right now, the On3 recruiting prediction machine has North Carolina and NC State as the top two programs in his recruitment.

A consensus three-star recruit, Anderson is ranked No. 554 overall on the 247Sports composite and is No. 69 among receivers in the class.
