ManningCast to feature legendary Saints QB vs. Chiefs

The Saints vs. Chiefs “ManningCast” has a strong guest list, with legendary former Saints quarterback Archie Manning among them:

The Kansas City Chiefs versus New Orleans Saints matchup in Week 5 will be featured as a “ManningCast” game on ESPN2, scheduled for 7:13 p.m. CT/8:13 p.m. ET. The guest list for this week’s broadcast group makes it worth watching. Peyton and Eli Manning will sit down with theeir father, Saints legend Archie Manning. He’s also the father of Cooper Manning and grandfather of Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning.

Additionally, it will include legendary former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, and actor Paul Rudd, a Chiefs superfan and the narrator of the 2007 season of “Hard Knocks,” which featured the Chiefs as well.

Having this group together will be an interesting dynamic, as Eli Manning will be able to talk with Belichick about the two Super Bowl victories he had against him. The Manning family will primarily be together on broadcast, and we can get perspective from Rudd about the Chiefs and his fandom as well. The “ManningCast” always has some fun broadcast groups and guests, but this one will be a fun one no doubt.

Peyton Manning and Eli star in funny King’s Hawaiian commercials

Peyton and Eli Manning continue their sibling rivalry in King’s Hawaiian funny new commercials.

Peyton Manning and his brother, Eli, joined King’s Hawaiian last year in a two-year marketing campaign promoting the company’s sliders and pretzel bites.

After debuting last fall, the former NFL quarterbacks returned with several new commercials this year continuing the “Slider Sunday” campaign.

“The versatility of their sliders means whether it’s tailgating during football season, enjoying a backyard barbeque or really just ending any weekend on a high note, we’re covered with King’s Hawaiian,” Peyton ssaid in a press release. “We’ve enjoyed working with their great team and look forward to more great moments to come.”

The commercials were created and produced by Omaha Productions, Peyton’s production company.

Here’s the first commercial in which Eli “saves Slider Sunday again” by remembering to bring the sliders that Peyton forgot:

Eli once again saved “Slider Sunday” in a new ad this fall:

And the brothers showed off their snack stands in another ad:

In a fourth commercial, the brothers break down the Xs and Os of sliders:

The commercials will air during football season this fall.

Giants legend Eli Manning falls out of top-10 for all-time passing yards

New York Giants legend Eli Manning fell out of the top 10 for all-time passing yards after being leapfrogged by Matthew Stafford.

New York Giants legend Eli Manning put together quite a resume over the course of his career and now, the two-time Super Bowl MVP is eligible for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

On Sunday, Manning’s all-time rank for passing yards took a hit as former Detroit Lions and current Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matt Stafford surpassed him.

Stafford moved into 10th all-time in passing yards this past week, bumping Manning back to 11th overall. Manning congratulated Stafford on his accomplishment in typical Eli fashion.

As mentioned in Manning’s video, Stafford is also just seven touchdowns away from leapfrogging him for 10th all-time in passing touchdowns. Eli sarcastically said there would be no kudos video when that happens.

Two years ago, Aaron Rodgers moved ahead of Manning in total passing yards, dropping Eli to the last spot in the top 10, where he remained until Stafford took over.

Luckily for Manning, after Stafford, there are not many active players who are close to climbing the ranks to surpass Manning any time soon.

Manning’s career accolades are highlighted by his two brilliant playoff runs which led to two Super Bowl victories against Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.

However, Manning is also near the top in every statistical quarterback category and will likely soon lead him to a Hall of Fame induction.

Eli Manning had a funny reaction to Arch Manning’s first college start

Eli Manning wanted to drop in to remind everyone that he had a better college debut than Archie, Peyton and Arch.

Arch Manning made the first start of his college football career on Saturday, helping the Texas Longhorns defeat the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks 51-3.

After the game, many fans and pundits were quick to compare the stats of Arch to his uncle’s first NCCA starts — and his grandfather’s, too.

Archie Manning (the patriarch of the family) threw for 116 yards and had two touchdowns against one interception in his first start at Ole Miss in 1968.

Peyton Manning was limited to 79 yards with no touchdowns and no interceptions in his Tennessee debut in 1994. Arch Manning had 258 yards with two scores and two interceptions on Saturday.

Eli Manning topped them all with 271 passing yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions in his first start at Ole Miss in 2001.

Eli took to Twitter/X on Monday to let his dad, brother and nephew know that he bested them: “I win!”

Arch’s father, Cooper Manning, was a star wide receiver in high school, but his football career was cut short by spinal stenosis before college. Cooper is the older brother of Peyton and Eli.

Peyton and Eli both won two Super Bowls in the NFL — Peyton won one title with the Indianapolis Colts and another with the Denver Broncos. Eli won two titles with the New York Giants.

Eli’s son, Charley (6), made his flag football debut on Saturday. Peyton’s son, Marshall (13), is a youth football player. They’ll look to follow in the footsteps of their dads and their cousin, Arch, in the coming years.

Arch Manning wins first college start at Texas (watch his highlights)

Arch Manning threw two touchdown passes (and two interceptions) in his first college start on Saturday, a 51-3 win over ULM.

Texas Longhorns redshirt freshman quarterback Arch Manning started the first game of his college career against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on Saturday, a 51-3 win at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin.

Arch threw an interception on his first drive but bounced back with two touchdown passes. He later had another pass intercepted after it slipped through a teammate’s hands.

Arch finished the game 15-of-29 passing for 258 yards with two scores and two turnovers.

In his two appearances before Saturday’s start, Arch totaled 371 yards from scrimmage and scored seven touchdowns (five passing and two rushing). Arch started in the place of an injured Quinn Ewers against UL Monroe.

Arch Manning highlights

Elsewhere in the Manning family, Arch’s younger cousin, Charley (6), made his flag football debut on Saturday. Charley is the son of Eli Manning.

Arch is the son of Cooper Manning, the older brother of Eli and Peyton who had his football career cut short by spinal stenosis after high school.

Peyton’s son, Marshall (13), is also a quarterback, so with a trio of Mannings lining up under center, football fans can look forward to the Manning era continuing for years to come.

Arch wasn’t the only Manning who made his first start on Saturday

Charley Manning (6) made his first flag football start on Saturday. Like his cousins Arch (19) and Marshall (13), Charley is a quarterback.

Arch Manning (19) made the first start of his college career on Saturday night when the Texas Longhorns hosted the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin.

Arch’s younger cousin, Charley (6) also made his first football start on Saturday. Eli Manning posted a video of his son playing flag football on his Twitter/X page.

“Arch is not the only Manning to get his first start today,” Eli captioned the video of Charles completing a pass:

https://twitter.com/EliManning/status/1837561875019845819

Arch is the son of Cooper Manning, who is the older brother of former NFL quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Eli Manning.

Peyton’s son, Marshall (13), is a youth football player who has shown off his strong arm at the Pro Bowl. Marshall is also a quarterback, and his youth football league banned his team from running the “Tush Push” play.

Arch won’t be eligible for the NFL draft before 2026 at the earliest. While Arch plays in college, Marshall is nearing high school and Charley is just beginning his football journey. May the Manning era long continue.

Texas will start QB Arch Manning vs. Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday

Peyton Manning’s nephew, Arch Manning, will make the first college start of his career when Texas hosts Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday.

The Texas Longhorns will start redshirt freshman quarterback Arch Manning against the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks on Saturday, coach Steve Sarkisian announced Thursday.

Manning, 19, played well last week after replacing an injured Quinn Ewers against the UTSA Roadrunners. Ewers left the game with an abdominal injury in the second quarter after helping Texas build a 14-0 lead.

Arch then entered the game and scored five touchdowns — four passing and one rushing — in an eventual 56-7 win.

Now, with Ewers still recovering, the Longhorns (3-0) are set to start Arch when they host Louisiana-Monroe (2-0) at DKR-Texas Memorial Stadium on Saturday. It will mark the first start of Arch’s college career.

https://twitter.com/TexasFootball/status/1836804687959368049

In two appearances this season, Manning has completed 77.8% of his passes for 318 yards with five touchdowns against zero interceptions. He has also rushed six times for 53 yards and two touchdowns.

Arch is the son of Cooper Manning, who is the older brother of former NFL quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Eli Manning. Cooper was a star wide receiver in high school but his football career was cut short by spinal stenosis before college.

A new Manning era will begin on Saturday when UT hosts ULM at 6:00 p.m. The game will broadcast on SEC Network Plus and on ESPN+.

Giants legend Eli Manning officially nominated for Hall of Fame

New York Giants legend Eli Manning is one of 16 first-time players nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.

Two-time Super Bowl MVP quarterback Eli Manning and seven other former New York Giants are among 167 modern-era players nominated for the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s Class of 2025.

From the Giants:

Manning, who ranks top 10 in career passing yards, completions and touchdown passes, is joined by seven other Giants legends on this year’s ballot: running back Tiki Barber, tight end Jeremy Shockey, guard Chris Snee, defensive end Justin Tuck, linebacker Jessie Armstead, and punters Jeff Feagles and Sean Landeta.

Manning retired after the 2019 season after 16 seasons with Big Blue and is one of 16 first-year nominees on this year’s ballot.

https://twitter.com/YahooSports/status/1836428936751763560

Manning is a two-time Super Bowl winner and MVP (XLII, XLVI), a four-time Pro Bowl selection, and the 2016 Walter Payton NFL Man of Year recipient.

Manning is enshrined in the Giants’ Ring of Honor and his No. 10 has been retired by the Giants.

Eli holds almost all of the Giants’ franchise passing records — both career and single-season — and played in a franchise record 236 games, including 222 consecutive starts, fourth-most by a quarterback in NFL history.

Manning also holds the records for the most passing yards in a single postseason (1,219 yards) and completions and attempts in a single postseason (103 completions and 163 attempts) both set in 2011.
