Tracking the wild recruitment of 2023 5-star QB Jaden Rashada

Jaden Rashada’s recruitment has been filled with drama since Day 1 and this latest turn deserves its own list to track the biggest moments in the process.

The drama doesn’t seem to end with [autotag]Jaden Rashada[/autotag], the five-star quarterback that sits atop Florida’s 2023 recruiting class. On Wednesday, Jan. 11, conflicting reports surfaced regarding Rashada’s enrollment at the university.

Of course, this isn’t Rashada’s first time on top of the national recruiting news bulletins. He famously, or perhaps infamously, chose Miami over Florida in June when he initially committed and then shocked the country by flipping to the Orange and Blue a month out from the early signing period.

That flip solidified Florida’s standing as a top recruiting program in the 2023 cycle, and getting Rashada to ink his national letter of intent on Dec. 21 was a big win for the program. It was supposed to signal the effective end of the cycle and relieve the team of any major recruiting drama over the next few months.

With that in mind, and Rashada’s status as the future of the Florida Gators in limbo, let’s take a look back at the wild rollercoaster of a timeline of this recruitment.

Tracking Florida’s 2023 early signing period activity

Florida is set to sign most of its 2023 recruiting class on the first day of the early signing period and Gators Wire is keeping track of it all.

The calendar might still read 2022, but the reality is that many of the top recruits in the class of 2023 are signing early and Dec. 21 marks the start of the early signing period. Florida is expected to bring in a strong class in Billy Napier’s first full cycle as head coach, but nothing is ever set in stone until the pen hits the paper.

The February signing date could bring in more names, but the core of the class is signing early and Gators Wire is keeping track of every move the team makes. There usually are some surprises, and Florida is in the hunt for several uncommitted targets set to make their decisions through Friday when the period comes to a close.

Each of Florida’s commitments below is listed in order of expected ceremony start time. As players sign their national letters of intent, the list will update to reflect Florida’s most recent additions.

Five ways Auburn can win the early signing period

This would be a big day for Auburn.

The early signing period is under a week away and Auburn is hard at work trying to add to their 2022 recruiting class.

This will be the first full class that Bryan Harsin and his staff were able to recruit and a strong early signing period would be big for the program.

As it stands, Auburn has 13 commits but is looking to add players at pretty much every position on the roster. While some of these needs will be addressed with high school recruits, some will be filled with transfers.

Auburn’s class currently ranks 34th in the country and 13th in the SEC. However, since it only has 13 members the Tigers have plenty of room to add players and have a chance to vault up the rankings. It seems unlikely that Auburn will add every one of their targets, but they have a great shot at landing several and it will be interesting to see what the class looks like when the dust settles on Dec. 15.

With that being said, here are five things Auburn can do to win the early signing period.
